I've had this unit which I self installed 12 years ago - it's an excellent quality product. As you have done, the flush out valves are a must for annual maintenance. Whole house filtration is recommended as I have a well. The customer service is great as well - I have had the elements replaced 8 years back, then the unit failed two years ago. With the warranty, they overnighted replacements after pics were provided.
I have already electric water heather (no tankless) that controls 2 bathrooms and a kitchen . It make the process easier with the plumbing ? Because I just going to use the pipes that connected already to the current water heater. Basically what I want to understand it’s if I want to control multiple bathrooms and kitchen, I need to connect all the pipes from each area and the it will control all of them ?
yes it would work the same as the tanked water heater but this unit needs a lot more power so athow the plumbing would work the same you would have to run more electrical to the water heater
it came with the valve kit . it's hard to tell cost because i completely remodeled and changed the heaters too and are heating company keeps increasing the cost
athow i am figuring things out i am not good with computers and haven't figured out how sorry. i will be working on that when i get a chance. look for water heater pressure relief valves and serval should pop up 👍
I’m attempting to move an ecosmart 27 that came installed in a tiny home. The manual says the heater must be installed 24” from combustibles. How were you able to put it in a cabinet?
Just thought I would add if you ever have to change an element you will have to take the unit out of the cabinet. The elements come out of the top of the tubes.
I was just wondering if you could leave one of the heating elements unwired and this unit still work properly I don’t want to under size my house would rather over size and I thought I’d I went with the 36 and didn’t need it if I would just leave one breaker off if it would still work correctly if anyone could answer thanks
i'm not sure but i think it only kicks the third one on if it senses it needs it, but i do know this one is overkill for my mom's apartment we could have gone smaller.
@@jht09 i don't know but if it does it would only be for a short time i wouldn't think it would pull that the hole time it is heating , but i'm not positive
its not based on the total amps its based on how often they will be used, there is a calculation that you have to go by I am close to the high side but still within the calculations. I have had all my inspections and have passed . 👍
@@JunkworksGarage Yes it needs a new filter every 3 to 4 months. Thanks for this video. These videos really help out single women homeowners without calling for expensive help.
So EcoSmart won’t warranty their product unless it’s installed by a pro. But the cheapest pro I’ve gotten an estimate from wants $500 to install it. So…that’s more than what a new unit would cost. I’ll take my chances.
I'm looking at the installation guide and it seems to states 3 sets of breakers and wires for the eco 27. I'm confused lol So did you just get away with 2 sets of is there some misunderstanding and 2 sets are sufficient?

Did the relief valve come with the heater or the valve kit ? Have you seen any reduction on your electric bill since you installed it ?

A good video on what NOT to do!
it passed code in my state and is still working great.
can you provide a link to the valve kits you bought on amazon??? thanks ! great video!

I don't remember the exact specs on mine but i measured and the cabinet was big enough for safe distances from all sides and front
Thank You !!!

Thumbs up: Utmost blessings!

any Updates on the water heater?. It has been several months. Thanks in advance.
so far so good i will do an update after i finish my kids place but it will be a little ways down the road 😁
Did you use 2 40 Amp breakers or 3?
3
How did this pass electrical inspection?
By following the instructions hooking it up and calling the inspector .
Just thought I would add if you ever have to change an element you will have to take the unit out of the cabinet. The elements come out of the top of the tubes.
i thought i talked about making an access hole i can't remember . etherway i did & actually will have a vid coming out soon on that & cleaning 😁👍
Will it work if not all elements work at the same time

With 120 amps going to the hot water heater alone is a 200amp service enough for this, plus an AC, stove etc?

So where is the filter that needs to be cleaned every month? We have had ours one month and I can't locate a filter?
i had to put an in line filter on mine but it doesn't have a built in one
@@JunkworksGarage Ok thanks, the Contractor told me to clean the filter every 30 days. I also have a descaler attached to it.

why would you heat hot water? I's a water heater
THAT'S WHY I TITLED IT WATER HEATER INSTAL
