Thanks for posting this it was a huge help, God bless and thank you for your service.
Glad it helped you. Wish you all the best.
Thanks for the video. I'm about to set-up a temporary shower in an old building I bought while I remodel my upstairs. This is the ticket. Thank you for your service and be safe.
I like you bad I love the comment of not turning the hot water on open or it would scold someone. if you do your a sadist 😆 the video has taught me a great deal of how to hook it up. Thank you 😊
I agree! Make sure the breaker will pop based on wire size. Otherwise as Walter said the wire will have too much Amps, current flowing through it causing it to get hot and burn the insulation and catches houses on fire ALL the time so 60 AMP breaker MUST have #6 wire.. existing Electric water heater are usually 30AMPS so the wire will not handle 60AMPS.
If you use the 30 AMP breaker it would pop the breaker all the time... BUT you don't just get a bigger breaker.. you MUST run new wire big enough. Good video Walter!
Loved the video. Living in Arkansas, I can relate to the bugs. I've been thinking of going tankless and this video helps. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate the feedback .
Always test the meter on a hot circuit first to make sure it's working. 👍⚡
Great video..just what I was looking for 👍
I admire do it your selfers, good job.
Thank you very much!
Awesome video brother from another Florida boy 👍🏼
I live in an 80s era mobile home also, and am slightly apprehensive of installing this unit, but I'm thinking of giving it a shot now. Thank you!
If you are in a temperate climate no worse than North Florida I say you can't go wrong.
Wow.. see just that little nugget on getting the Ferrell straight could easily save leaky install after getting it all put together and have it leak right there! Awesome!
I put lo-flo heads on the showers. Now my '06 tank cycles even when both are running. I added an ESP controller to it a few yrs ago so I can watch how it behaves.
Thank you! This was great
Thank you. Hope it helped a little.
Best video !! 👍 Thanks
wonderful do it yourself video
You need to get a water flow reducer of 1.5 Gallons per min to install on your faucets because the heater only is able to heat 2 gallons per min. You will supprise of how much your electric bill is reduced. Smart move you did a good job.
Nice to see you back again
Thank You
Walter I could watch you do this stuff all day and night. I should have had you come and wire my Tesla’s charging plug in.
haha, yeah a 1 hour job turns into 5. lol
I installed mine and after 4 months I checked my electrical bill and my electric bill went down $60 a month
That is awesome. We are still loving ours.
great intro.
i notice you didnt install cold and hot water valves that also have the washer machine hose connection to flush system when needed.
Nice job Walter, its no Stargate, but hey it works
haha, yep it works much better than the Stargate.
great job lot of info
Thank you Jerry, I kinda just do stuff and if it works it works if not we live with it. lol
Aren’t the ferrules for compressing copper pipe to the unit? Could you have removed them and not worried if they were straight? Thanks for posting the video it’s nice to know what I’m in for this weekend.
I really don't know I was winging the whole thing. It worked for almost 2 years, but because I didn't do maintenance and just hastily installed it. Its performance degraded.
GREAT JOB. Where you pleased with it's performance after a year? Thanks for sharing.
We are, We have had absolutely no issues with it. Haven't touched it since I installed it. Gonna do a follow up soon.
@@KuntryGator Looking forward to it. Thanks for getting back to me.
I just bought the same one to add to my travel trailer.... I am trying to decide if I am going to do away with the gas/electric 6 gal that came with the trailer or just take it out to gain the room. I’m selling my house and going full time Otr trucking for a couple years but want to be able to get all the soap off my balls before I run out of water... Anyway I have the ball valves to switch from one to the other. I doubt I will ever use the gas. I know a 60 amp breaker and # 6 is over kill for sure!
Update... Well did go with the eco and have No regrets... I soldered directly into the 50 amp service coming in the back of the Rv. Used a piece of Projector bored to cover the hole where the old heater was giving me ample space for a hot and cold water bib with shut off valves inside the 2 “ of foam insulation. The projector screen is made out of a white coated aluminum that sandwiches a hard black plastic poly..??? I got lucky a picked it up off a job years ago.. I also used it for a laundry folding station/ work bench since is so easy to clean. I will say this though after opening up the wall between the bathroom and was bunk bedroom I was so disappointed in the deadwood and what they had mounted safer and since the water shut off valve for the shower I would think one would at least mount it to a one by but instead they literally mounted it to Venere. So long story short I have been insulating and running one buys on 16 inch centers I tied into the outdoor sink for your sink drain for my drain for my washing machine which were it has worked out perfect I am mounted the which I had to add three eights plywood to the back wall to be able to support my dryer that I’ve added above my washer I added old cabinets that I have got out of my old takeout house and they’ve really turned out really nice the insulation between I want to head and used 1 inch foam insulation between the outdoor kitchen/sink area and refrigerator and now when the radio is playing in the Outdoor stove kitchen refrigerator area you can’t even hear inside with 1 inch foam so I can’t emphasize enough on sealing everything up I’ve caulked everything I’ve I’ve even gotten to the point now where I’ve understood I’m understanding how much air gets in and out of these travel trailers and I’m quite certain I’m fixing to order a fleer where I can really actually see where I’m losing in yo where I’m pretty sure I already know but I want to see where I’m losing the most cooler and heat especially during the winter time. One thing I can can’t emphasize enough is if you ever see the word light in a travel trailer or RV steer clear from it because they are built like shit. Are you guys have a wonderful day I am fixing to start building more cabinets behind the TV because they can’t even support a canna beans anyway this is a open range 2017 2802BH
Well now it is a 2802LM&S
Love it
Oh and just so Walter's viewers know. #4 wire is bigger than #6 wire so Walter has, more than enough and is good to go..
The smaller the number the bigger the wire thickness. #12 is for 20AMPS, #10 is for 30AMPS etc..
Well done. My challenge is to connect existing wiring from old hot water tank (3 large single strand
wires-black, white, and copper) to adapt to a tankless hot water heater. I don't want to run a whole new wiring system.
that was my want as well, however my house just didn't have the amperage to run this small unit.
Nice job👍
Thanks Bud.
thank you
I feel this guy had left many victims left behind
Has anyone hooked this up to pex pipe?
Fucking fire hazzard
i know this is a long time ago but what is the name of the 1/2 inch to 3/4 brass compression fitting you use?? i am having a hard time finding one, any help would be great
I do not know, went to the local hardware store and they helped.
I'm wondering the same and if someone had used pex
You should use Teflon tape plus pipe dope, works far better then just one or the other. That old wire doesn't look like 6 awg, looks more like 10 awg.
Thanks for the info, And if I need to do it again I will remember that.
U from N.C.? Sound like my brother there;) BEST vid on the Echo 11 by far EXCEPT there is no flush valve to clean out w/vinegar 1-2x/year? you'd have to remove the glued down inflow/outflow ? so HOW can you clean this?
I don't know yet. And no sir, I'm from Florida. 7th generation to be exact.
Can you flush using the filter inlet?
@@marcelluswiggins7797 no. You have to dc both in/out flow and hook it up to hoses (I got washing machine hoses on amazon for 15.00 for 2) and connect to a a sump pump in a 5 gallon pail with 1-3 gallons of vinegar and flush it thru after turning off power and water,. SO- here, you'd have to loosen both sides EVERY time. total hassle. you MUST install 2 service valves and 1 water filter( on the cold end) in order to flush every 6 mo. to a year or they crap out with calcification. I found out the hard way--plumber installed wrong and 2 years later I have to get a new one, with the proper valves etc and $$$. UGH.
Pipe dope yes sir
How has the system been working? I. Wanting to I stall this unit
It works well for our purpose.
Can't wait to see the doggy door
Me either. lol
RUclips keeps freezing up as I try to say thanks! Hope this one gets thru!
It did thanks man I appreciate it
What size wire would you recommend
Depends on what you want to do. As long as we use just one faucet at a time or we make sure we aren't taking a shower while washing clothes then we are good with this. If you want to run more that one shower at a time then you'll need bigger.
Sorry I reread your questions. Use the recommended wire size for the device you purchase.
How is the hot water heater woking now
I am going to get one but with a warranty
So far it has been flawless.
you had me at cussin'.
haha, there was a lot of that removed from this video
Dad swore by roach spray for spiders.
Haha, I love spiders.
I would have pulled the old heater out first.
Good thing I didn't I'm using it again.
How would you rate the eco water heater as of today is it still holding fine(?)
If you're not an adult? Now that's a laugh coming from an old fart
You may be right. lol
but..... thats not 3D printed.....
but...but.... It is in 3D. lol
@@Kuntry3D touche... good to see you with new content
Is it still working as of now? Or has it become junk yet after two years?
Well, because I'm an idiot and forgot all about the descaling. I let it get gunked up. So I am back to the old one for now.
