Smith has been interacting with DiJonai Carrington, a player deemed by Indiana Fever fans to be Caitlin Clark's detractor. She has also shown signs likely to suggest she wants to leave Indiana Fever.

Some one must have called Smith out because she played her butt off vs the Sky. For the most part, Smith has been a bust this season, even losing her starting spot to Temi Fagbenle and is only back playing because of Fagbenle's foot injury. The Fever probably won't protect her during the expansion draft, so that could be the end of her career in Indiana.

When Caitlyn first came and the controversy started, it was Smith who posted on her X account a message to Caitlyn - ‘remember, always be true to yourself’. All this business about calling people thugs and ghetto trash needs to stop immediately. It’s not helping and it’s hurting Caitlyn’s chances of fitting in which is all she has ever wanted to do, play basketball.
I foresee the Valkyries to be Caitlin's final destination, rather than deal with Sides and her favorite ball hogs.

The last few games I've watch with Smith playing for the Fever have looked pretty good to me. She under the basket , around the basket and making good shots plus putting up some darn good defense.
