These are the prettiest that i have seen online. I don't care for the burning of the ends but I love the thickness and flexibility and overall natural look. Great vid! Thank you so much!
Gorgeous! Question, do the faux locs (marley) ever slip from the braid (kanekalon) at the root? How do you prevent that from happening? I am using a different type of hair for my locs and they keep slipping out! Thank u!!
i've nevr seen someone not braid it to the bottom! thats a great idea, thats mostly why i hadn't tried it. between the tim it takes to braid and then wrap all over i just couldn't deal. but this is great! thanks :D
Came here for loc tips for my son, nothing on here for him, but you are very beautiful. I see I'm not the first to say this, but keep up the good work.
Hey! I love this! Would you happen to know how many locs you ended with? I don't know how many I should do. I don't want it to look empty but not look overloaded either....
Also: I saw in the first extension tutorial the stylist used a bic torch. The kind you use to light a stove/oven or fireplace. It looks easier to handle than a cigarette lighter. Maybe you should try that.
Oh my gosh, that would suck :( i feel your pain girl, literally- and to find something like that on your birthday as well :( try and keep positive and happy on your special day despite that... have a happy happy birthday and this was an awesome video btw! xx
Your faux locs are the best I've seen. The chunkiness and length of them is what makes me like them so much. For the locs towards the back and sides did you stop at wrapping the second strand or did you add a 3rd to finish the length? They look longer than the one you demonstrated in the video, but I cant tell if they actually are or if its just the layering effect.
i wanted to do yarn locs cause they're cheaper but they dont get this thick and i love this the thickness and volume is worth the extra money i think. i wonder if these are as heavy as the ones that are twisted or braided and then wrapped?
Hey im a second college student doing my NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing here in the uk i find your tutorials a great help with my homework thankyou so much ..... ;)
I love your faux locs😍😍😍!!! I just my yarn braids in a couple days ago which I'm loving, but since I'm doing a six months protective style challenge for myself with breaks thrown in of course. I was thinking of my next style and I will definitely be doing faux yarn locs like these. My profile pic is of my thick yarn braids that actually look like locs now I can't wait for the next two months. I plan on doing a protective style either every two months or three it depends on how long I keep them in so first yarn braids, next yarn locs and something else.
This is a great vid. I want to make my extensions exactly like yours. I don't like skinny locs. My hair is very thick, coarse & short. I can make a short braid. Do you know anyone who had a different result with hair like mine?
So sorry about what happened to you. Starting over suck atimes, it's like repeating a class. I love how your own dreads come out kinda frizzy, prefer that to the stiff looking ones. Ive ordered my marley braids from amazon, trying this like tomorrow
is it possible to maybe crinkle or curl the bottoms if they were smaller ? they're beautiful and I'm gonna try it lol I have nothing but time on my hands
Sorry to hear that Hun. I can heka relate because my phone with all my videos got stolen & I have to start over too, but only greater things are to come.
your hair is gorgeous and you are so beautiful girl! thanks for the tutorial Im currently sporting havana twist and once I take these out Id like to try this style as well. by the way has anyone told you you resemble the actress Sophie Okonedo? Maryam Hampton
Hey ! I have a question: I have very long hair and I would know if it's possible to do that, firstly because I think Marley Hair are too short and can't arrive at the point of mine. Secondly because I'm scared for my hair, has this technic a risk for them ? Thanks for answer, sorry for mistakes I'm french.
I was so pressed to get these done because they are gorgeous..i just got them done 2 days ago and i'm literally taking them out now...they're soo heavy and hurt like hell..it was so hard for me to sleep :( those africans was tugging and pulling on my hair something terrible lol..$200 i just wasted..smh but idc
devdoll I'm thinking of going with the Bobbi boss nu locs 18". They're really pretty kinda like a soft texture, but they're crochet so I think they'll be less painful and they have some pretty colors..
I always wanted to try this, but i always felt like Marley hair was kinda rough or too kinky and it would pull on my strands and cause breakage from the friction, it cant be good for natural hair..
Maryam Hampton So awesome and gorgeous! Do you know of anyone who has tried this with really thin hair? I tried box braids once and my hair is so thin (thanks to medication for my Ankylosing Spondylitis) that I ended up with a very 'scalp-ey' look. :( I'm always looking for new ways to make it look like I have more hair. Any suggestions?
I want to try this, but I have a loooot of hair.. so if I were to buy marley hair, would you say I'd need more than one package? I dont know if this is a dumb question, but I dont wanna start my hair off and then not have enough to finish the rest of it. You and youre hair are gorgeous by the way :)
Marlene Cb the thing is, Im trying to find marley hair online but all I can gind is kanekalon hair. So I was wondering what the difference was and if you knew where to find marley hair online. Sorry for taking your time with this and thank you
I'm sorry I don't know of any online. I bought my from the local beauty supply store. The marley hair worked best for me because it didn't tangle like the kankeleon hair. It doesn't matter what brand of marley hair you use though.
These are right up my street. Love the glossiness and the thickness. Easy to take out too.
You look like the UK singer Sade, gorgeous
Ginelle Stewart Lol people use to tell my mom that back in the day
Ginelle Stewart Sade is Nigerian
🤣
They actually cute with the rubber bands!! Nice.
Lord I'm in loveeeeee it look so realistic 😩
Simple! Thanks! I have box braids currently and am wondering if I could group and wrap a couple of them like this
i dont like any type of weave or extensions...but this looks amazing on you..very exotic and beautiful
wow looks so realistic and good.
These are the prettiest that i have seen online. I don't care for the burning of the ends but I love the thickness and flexibility and overall natural look. Great vid! Thank you so much!
this is the best ever faux locs i saw on youtube! great hair. Bisous!
Gorgeous! Question, do the faux locs (marley) ever slip from the braid (kanekalon) at the root? How do you prevent that from happening? I am using a different type of hair for my locs and they keep slipping out! Thank u!!
thank you so much for this video. I have been so interested in doing this style, thank you seriously.
i've nevr seen someone not braid it to the bottom! thats a great idea, thats mostly why i hadn't tried it. between the tim it takes to braid and then wrap all over i just couldn't deal. but this is great! thanks :D
Those are gorgeous! And so are you, look like Jurnee Smollett

Came here for loc tips for my son, nothing on here for him, but you are very beautiful. I see I'm not the first to say this, but keep up the good work.

legalizepaula Thanks for watching. Good luck!
I'm new to your channel, have you made a video on how to remove them?
Hey! I love this! Would you happen to know how many locs you ended with? I don't know how many I should do. I don't want it to look empty but not look overloaded either....
alaina hall I ended up with 45-50. Mine are thick so if yours is not as thick you will have more :)
Also: I saw in the first extension tutorial the stylist used a bic torch. The kind you use to light a stove/oven or fireplace. It looks easier to handle than a cigarette lighter. Maybe you should try that.
Oh my gosh, that would suck :( i feel your pain girl, literally- and to find something like that on your birthday as well :( try and keep positive and happy on your special day despite that... have a happy happy birthday and this was an awesome video btw! xx

Loved the video's!! I've never heard of Faux dreads!
+GiGiGlam1 It's the layering. They are all the same length.
These have to be my favorite version
i wanted to do yarn locs cause they're cheaper but they dont get this thick and i love this the thickness and volume is worth the extra money i think. i wonder if these are as heavy as the ones that are twisted or braided and then wrapped?
I love your hair. one question. how do you take them out because it seemed so close to your natural hair length? i dont want to cut my real hair.
Hey Maryam you have the most gorgeous hair ever so beautiful ♡♡
+Paul Daone Thank you so much!!!

No thank you my friends think it;s stupid doing your own hair and you video has given me the confidence to at least try so thank you so much
yashka hayles Lol saving money isn't ever stupid :)
When we're done wrapping it around our hair, do we need to seal them with a wire so they will stay fix to our scalp?

I was so pressed to get these done because they are gorgeous..i just got them done 2 days ago and i'm literally taking them out now...they're soo heavy and hurt like hell..it was so hard for me to sleep :( those africans was tugging and pulling on my hair something terrible lol..$200 i just wasted..smh but idc
not to mention i had neck pain when they were in
seriously : O but I want it sooo bad
femme-inist u
same just got my hair done in this style but considering taking them done, waste of money but 😩
devdoll I'm thinking of going with the Bobbi boss nu locs 18". They're really pretty kinda like a soft texture, but they're crochet so I think they'll be less painful and they have some pretty colors..
It looks so soft!
I always wanted to try this, but i always felt like Marley hair was kinda rough or too kinky and it would pull on my strands and cause breakage from the friction, it cant be good for natural hair..
I've seen a lot of women use yarn.
dajia thomas the more expensive versions are softer. the kind that are around $5 are usually rough
😀😂
+Keyera Williams yep yarn is the way to go its cheaper and not as heavy
Maryam Hampton So awesome and gorgeous! Do you know of anyone who has tried this with really thin hair? I tried box braids once and my hair is so thin (thanks to medication for my Ankylosing Spondylitis) that I ended up with a very 'scalp-ey' look. :( I'm always looking for new ways to make it look like I have more hair. Any suggestions?
Hi! Loved the vid. Just wanted to know the brand of marley hair you used. thanks!
oh my god this hair is so amazing 100+ then your flat iron
Is it possible to use human hair extensions for this type of dread?
And you're gorj! Simply beautiful!
hodan Thank you! and I'm not sure. I guess it won't hurt to try
I love your eyebrows!
+Camille Sale Thank you!
Maryam Hampton I have a question. How do you deep condition your hair (weekly)while it's in those lock?
can you review this style? or do an updated video to this
a young and beautiful Sade!
I know this is late but how long does your hair have to be for faux dreads?
Pretty awesome! But how the check do you take them out? Lol
this video is so relaxing..... I fell asleep lol have to watch it over
how many packs of hair did you use??
HerSpirit Isfree 7 1/2 packs
I LOVE your lipstick
quick question, so you twisted with the jamaican braid hair? or is that what you wrapped around the twists once they were done?
The song in the background is "buy a heart" by nikki minaj and meek mill
LOVE your video btw
Beautiful .... You look like Sade daughter 💋
Does twisting with the ends of the Marley hair make the locs thicker?
I'm so trying this. how many packs of hair did you use? sorry if you answered this already.
+Thebes17 7 and a half
+Maryam Hampton thanks!
Marlene Cb I used 7 and a half packs
Maryam Hampton Did you have to use a specific brand or are all good enough to use?
Marlene Cb the thing is, Im trying to find marley hair online but all I can gind is kanekalon hair. So I was wondering what the difference was and if you knew where to find marley hair online. Sorry for taking your time with this and thank you
I'm sorry I don't know of any online. I bought my from the local beauty supply store. The marley hair worked best for me because it didn't tangle like the kankeleon hair. It doesn't matter what brand of marley hair you use though.
Maryam Hampton okay, ill keep on the look out. Thanks again :)
Hi , what kind of hair did you use & how many packs did you use ?
I have a question. If someone has relaxed hair, can they also do this? And also how long did you have these in your hair?
XoXoheatherful Yes of course
Maryam Hampton Thank you
