Thanks for the tour. It’s quite a nice mall. I grew up in Carol Stream so Stratford was my blue collar stomping ground. I’ll have to check this place out. Love the fountain. Reminds me of Europe 🥰
I lived in Chicago for two years (2001-2003) and really enjoyed this mall and Oakbrook the most. They are both old and quite similar. It was sad to see that macy*s has of course replaced the beautiful four level Marshall Field's there, and I always liked the Lord & Taylor...which is also of course gone as well. Nice video...keep up the great work!
Old Orchard is the only decent shopping center remaining in Chicago’s North Shore. It reminds me a lot of Short Hills in New Jersey and the following malls in Florida: Aventura Mall, Boca Town Center and the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens.
I used to work kitty corner across the street from Old Orchard. Wow, it really has changed! Northbrook Court is becoming a mixed use development, like Collin Creek is here.
You should review these malls: Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, IL Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets in Kenosha, WI Randhurst Town Center In Niles, IL The Promenade in Bolingbrook, IL
Some other malls in the Chicago metro include Lincolnwood Town Center (Lincolnwood), Northbrook Court (Northbrook), and North Riverside Park Mall (North Riverside). Lincolnwood Town Center is probably dying and has been in the news in the last year for losing more and more tenants. Northbrook Court is high-end stuff, the demographic is very similar to that of the North Shore. North Riverside is surprisingly busy. It's more of a western/southwestern suburb of Chicago unlike the other three that are all northern but it is by far the busiest mall I would say of the four, based on personal observation. Oh and one more is the Hawthorn Mall (Vernon Hills), also more on the decline but probably due to the explosive boom in the Vernon Hills-Libertyville area in recent years.
Westfield operates many shopping centers in the states, not just in Illinois. I was in LA not long ago, visited few suburban malls there also under Westfield name plate. Similar layout and shopping experience but larger and of course more choices of dining options. Food court is a weakness shared by many Chicago area malls.
I like the old layout from when I was a kid and Wards was the anchor store where Nordstom is now.

Love Old Orchard. My Grandma always lived in Skokie real close to Old Orchard and I have a lot of memories of going there with my Grandma
Its a great mall. Hope it lasts.

This looks like it was filmed 2 or 3 years ago because of some of the stores that are there in the video.
Nicely done. An interesting mall.

Urbex- A Peak Inside It wasn't very busy on the area between Macy's and Nordstrom. Near Starbucks was where it became busy.
Old Orchard reminds me of Oak Brook Center.
Me too. Both are lively upscale lifestyle centers.

Didn't see so much information on when Westfield purchased the property. Thanks for sharing!
