"They had a ton of mannequins... and they were not moving" of course
The fact that many companies are closing or downsizing their stores in various locations especially malls, it is not going to help at all and will make them decline. I have to question why Macy's chose this Bloomingdales store to downsize considering it is in a profitable area.
I mention this in the video but when I've visited this store in the past, they never seemed to have a lot merchandise. This wasn't surprising to me at all.
A huge shame they're downsizing in one of the top malls of the Chicagoland area
Somewhat reminds me of their Oakbrook Center location that was in a top performing mall in a upscale area and only lasted 9 years
This store had Montgomery Kone escalators & Montgomery elevator. It's shame that this store was closing.
Request: store tour buy buy baby in Orland Park IL.
Unless Westfield plans on redeveloping it, I think that the store would be a great location for Neiman Marcus to relocate their Northbrook store.
There's something really pathetic about all those mannequins for sale.
Westfield was created in Melbourne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 here and it's now overseas as well the very first Westfield was opened in Melbourne and I don't even know what year it was first time opened up in Melbourne Victoria Australia here
If I remember right Dillard's doesn't have a lot of stores in Illinois. Also I wish there was a way to have like a Von Maur in there. I enjoyed this video.
Thanks!!!!
“They had mannequins…they were not moving.”
I see what you did there. Also, who buys them?
A Haunted House?
I'd suspect other clothing stores, but in-person shops are generally dwindling.
I'm unsure that Amazon has much to do with it, since the bad reputation (and not to mention the exuberant shipping fees for small orders or removing Japanese figurines for being "too saucy") are making people look to buy elsewhere.
Worst part of the closing is that the big old parking garage will be useless. You used to be able to park, go through Bloomingdale's, then go *out to* the mall.
Actually those mannequins can be used to fix/make clothing on, especially if they're the cloth ones that can have pins stuck in them. The ones made from plastic and other hard materials can be used to show clothing.
I wonder how much those cost brand new from the manufacturer though. Must be more than what the store is selling it for.
I'm sure Bloomingdales was offering a discount but they seemed more expensive then I've seen in the past.
Cool how federated used the same closing signs as Macy’s
Gymboree used those in 2017
And switched to the signs used in Bon Ton in 2019
Coincidently, the closing Bed Bath and Beyond in nearby Gurnee Mills is also calling it “The Entire Store On Sale” as well.
So they aren’t the only ones going by that name.
Maybe this is a new trend.
@@LostDepartments I can legit see it, especially since “store closing” has become more common and shines a negative light on the malls and retail spaces already struggling.
@@LostDepartments Why do people like you mention if a store feels dated or not?
When I shop somewhere I don't even think of such things.
Obviously you have too much time on your hands.
@@MIKECNW I mean I clearly have a lot of time on my hands! I have an entire youtube channel devoted to closing department stores.
Great video man
Thank You!!!!!
Ugliest pair of shoes I have ever seen on RUclips I am watching this clip in Australia
I went there last month!
Your voice is getting older… -_-
Thankfully, because I'm much older than I sounded 🤣
@@LostDepartments Okay
Nice video! Hope all is well wih you!
This honestly a really nice store so this is a definitely a shocker that it is closing. I am guessing since the store already cleaned out a good portion of inventory that it was probably sent to Macy's in the mall since Macy's owns Bloomingdales so it would make sense if they did do that. Great video!
Thank You!!!
Hey, glad to see you back on youtube! My cousin just moved down to Skokie; I’ll have to ask him about this; I think he’s been to this mall, but I’m not sure.
Thank You!!! This mall is definitely one of the nicest in Chicagoland!
Gonna miss this place! Used to hang at the oak st n rush Starbucks when da old lady used to shop!
At least the one downtown isn't closing!
@@LostDepartments I didn't know that!! I'm moving to NY soon! After I get settled down a little bit. I gotta come out to Chicago n buy a little place so if I want to go home n relax for a min. Would love to have a spot on Elm or one of those streets near Viagra park.
