Get her rebuilt and restored and put her on a corn silage blower. I've used a farmall super MTA gas on a 14' by 50' silo and it actually handled it perfectly.
Oliver: The wide front axle and side panels for that Oliver are likely stuffed in a corner of some shed around there. We had an 880 and used wide-front for baling hay and then swapped on a narrow front pedestal for the two row mounted New Idea corn picker. Narrow is super dangerous on hills and driving on the road at high speed, my father told of when he was a kid one of the hired men was killed from rolling a narrow front tractor driving down hill on the road and turning sharp into a driveway; but they were super popular when cultivating was the only way to eliminate weeds in crops -- corn planters were built to 'check rows' so you could cultivate both down and across a field -- you wanted a narrow front tractor with a mid-mounted cultivator and a 'suicide handle' on the steering wheel plus right/left split brake pedals to turn even sharper. Now farmers take the health risks of spraying chemicals on a field.
You are SOOO BLESSED 🙌 with your children!! I looked just like Grant when I was his age! Raised in N.VT @ the "Cedar Ridge" Jersey farm where we had a 77 R/C Wide Front 77 Oliver Diesel with f/e loader.. She was MY first & MOST Favorite except the 400D Narrow Front end.
Hey Kip. That Oliver was probably manufactured in Charles City, Iowa; that factory's gone now, but (as an Oliver nut) I visited it in 1989 and spent the weekend in the Oliver archives at the Charles City Historic Museum.
Tks for the invite to the Farm. Them old Oliver's was and still are power houses. Merry Christmas to you and your Family.. Hope all are Healthy and safe. That bull looks good and alittle pig headed..please be careful.
contact chris losey-that oliver guy, he has a youtube channel, he can tell you everything you want to know about that tractor and may have a starter. his family had an oliver dealership.
I ran Oliver 77's and 88's. I loved using them on the feedmill especially when I was shoveling cob corn. 6 cylinder smooth power. Unique shift pattern. I loved to run them. Someone mentioned Chris Losey on You Tube... I couldn't agree more. Look him up, he can tell you all you need to know. He has a great channel too.
Farmer down here chopped all 70 acres of corn each year with an Oliver 77 and a single town chopper. Tough tough tractor. As for a narrow front, not anywhere near as tippy as people think and the most handy thing in tight places. Backing four wheeled wagons, mowing, and more all easier.
Oliver tractors were some of the most well built tractors ever made. Live PTO on a 1954 tractor! Pretty awesome. Your gydraulics is under the steering wheel. Oliver 77's were a great tractor. Narrow front ends are fantastic on flatter ground. The turning radius is soooo much better than a wide.
My grandpa had a super 77 row crop almost identical to that one without the loader I loved that tractor and it was a handy one to use on the manure spreader in the winter when our bigger Oliver wouldn’t wanna start because it’s cold blooded
Inviting us into your life and home is something special, Kip. The Oliver is a great find and definitely one to hold onto. Love seeing your family and life in videos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your family from mine!
I hate to mention it but one of our farmer friends had her father say that he was going out to move a bull to a different corral. Her father was gone for way too long for a simple 10 minute job in the evening. They went out to check. The bull had done in her father. It was a sad time for the family. The bull was usually a mild mannered animal. . . . however, he charged and that was the end of her father. . . . and yet, an uncle used to share a bull with another relative. He would walk the bull about a half mile across a field. He never had any issues. . . . It only takes one time. On a cheery note, have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
My grandfather and uncles had two 70 Olivers i don't know what model year it was but they did a lot of farming with those tractord .He also had a 300 International Harvester also .In later years my uncle bought a 1650 Oliver tractor it was a tricycle type they were always Oliver people When i was a kid i drove all of them at one time or another
I remember back when I was a kid back in the 50s and 60s, Oliver's were all over by my grandparents farm but my grandpa was a Ford man. Then some farmers were killed by the tricycle wheel setup and everybody switched to 4x4s. You've got a great garage there. The kids have somewheres to burn off energy. Mom probably likes that.😁 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Siegler family and all the workers on the farm. God Bless everyone and stay safe over this weekend. 🥶🥶
Oliver 77's had side sheilds. The loader is not Oliver, probably after market they modified to work on the 77. We had a 77 minus the loader just like it. Fantastic find, would love to restore it or at least get it running.
Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable. Lots to do always around the farm. Busy time for you all. Neat old Oliver you found. Fixed up a bit would not be a bad unit to have. Some older stuff is wanted by collectors. That loader is not factory. Was a add on. Might be a miller loader. Neat old unit yet. Watch that bull. They can turn on you in a minute. See you are repairing the corner of the barn. Looks good. Getting garage all ready for Xmas get together. Very nice. Enjoy everybody’s company. You take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Kip. The Iowa farm boy.
Kip there is a Oliver dealer in Sheldon Iowa I think it is Obrien County implement and they can get you any part for Oliver's we had a 77 row crop we had on our feeder wagon. My boss dad had a 77 also and he had the shields on the sides .
Merry Christmas to the Sigler family and the farm in the cows and of course the tractors. I hope you get your new tractor you always wanted Kip. That Oliver you have is awesome a real dime Piece. And a Happy New Year. Can't wait to see the new footage for the new year take care and God bless the Sigler family and farm
Thanks Kip for another of your great videos. I so enjoy how you present them. And your young one Grant, he is going to be a tiger like his father LOL. Merry Christmas and will watching you next year, Wayne from Toronto Canada.
Wonder if you'll find more parts to the Oliver in the field. Narrow front ends are dangerous, Dad had a JD narrow front end with a loader( I want to say it was a JD-A). He was moving a rock and the tractor rolled over on him. Thankfully my Uncle was in the field on another tractor and brought him up to the house, Mom took him to the hospital. With the weather being nasty, I changed my plans and will be coming down on Monday. I see it's nasty out down there today(Friday) Hope everyone arrives safely to your Christmas Party and makes it safely back home. Merry Christmas to everyone.
Hey Kip, If memory's right, your Olie 77 is a two plow tractor. They'd work 8 - 10 hrs on that 16 gallons of gas. Same as the 88. Being a 3 bottom tractor. Hope y'al have a Merry Christmas.
I believe you can put a Reastat or Dimmer on that Fan and you could control the Speed? Anyway Merry Christmas Fron The Buckler’s in Marshfield Missouri!
If you go to a RUclips video it will show what side covers the 0liver 77 had. this is the name of the video An original Oliver 77 Row Crop. I take you on a tour of this straight, original beauty. If the color of the loader is right it maybe a Alice Chalmers loader.
Kip dad told me in 1949 8 n Ford cost $900.00. The b john Deere $1100.00. I think $3000.00 bought the 77 and loader. Dad's 1950 g john Deere had a 3 point and remote cylinder hook ups. You could only us 1 at a time. Merry Christmas! 1954 makes it 68 yrs old.
Contact Chris Losey (YT channel “That Oliver Guy”). His Great-Grandfather started a dealership selling Olivers & other farm brands. It was handed down to his grandfather then his father so he was raised around Olivers. Extremely knowledgeable Oliver person. Cheers.
My Aunt an Uncle had a registered Holstein bull w horns that was ugly bear to any body who came in the pasture or loafing area, a baseball bat was the only thing he respected, until they cut off his horns, was like a kitten after that a he wanted his head rubbed an patted ,vet said it was an amazing life change for him. They had him for a few years

That's a super six senior front loader. They made them for all the popular tricycle tractors in the day.
Merry Christmas to you all

Ross the Oliver man could be a good resource for getting info on this tractor
Hey Kip, If memory's right, your Olie 77 is a two plow tractor. They'd work 8 - 10 hrs on that 16 gallons of gas.

The loader I believe it's a freeman. I'm 75 years old we had a 70 ,77,super 88 and a1800 . My older brother said its a miller loader.
Merry Christmas happy new year god bless you and your family
Big bull probably didn’t even acknowledge that little bull. 😂😂😂
If you go to a RUclips video it will show what side covers the 0liver 77 had. this is the name of the video An original Oliver 77 Row Crop. I take you on a tour of this straight, original beauty. If the color of the loader is right it maybe a Alice Chalmers loader.
That’s deere power for ya. Oliver made 32 out of a 6 cylinder and a deere model 420 (from 56) made 28 on 2 cylinders and has a 6 gallon tank.
The lowder is not factory they were after market. we have 3 they are very reliable tractors
Get your silo doors made out of plastic. A friend of mine had new ones made for his silo. They are great.
The Oliver is worth getting up and running
Kip dad told me in 1949 8 n Ford cost $900.00. The b john Deere $1100.00. I think $3000.00 bought the 77 and loader. Dad's 1950 g john Deere had a 3 point and remote cylinder hook ups. You could only us 1 at a time. Merry Christmas! 1954 makes it 68 yrs old.
I have always said dad needs a shop behind his new home.
One other problem is that you turned sharp it will tear off the narrow front really loose dirt it has happened to my dad when cultivating
thats a a loader that was just put on the tractor but would be nice to see running again
Narrow front vs wide front is up to the operator, you believe what you will, myths are hard to break.
Charles City IA built Oliver.
Contact Chris Losey (YT channel “That Oliver Guy”). His Great-Grandfather started a dealership selling Olivers & other farm brands. It was handed down to his grandfather then his father so he was raised around Olivers. Extremely knowledgeable Oliver person. Cheers.
Not a row crop tractor. What the differences? Is it tire Location or lot more than that.
I'm pretty sure it's older than the 77. It was probably repurposed off an older tractor and someone added the hoop over the top
Made in Mannheim Germany , .Manchester is in UK.
what happened to the old tractor on the property you guys bought ? it was by an old barn
Dad going to restore that Oliver
My Aunt an Uncle had a registered Holstein bull w horns that was ugly bear to any body who came in the pasture or loafing area, a baseball bat was the only thing he respected, until they cut off his horns, was like a kitten after that a he wanted his head rubbed an patted ,vet said it was an amazing life change for him. They had him for a few years
GIEROK FARMS VERY NARROW JOEL ON OLIVER TRACTORS THEY NO
It wasn't factory or it would be an Oliver or Schwartz loader they had corn picker tin or open side tin
Unfortunately the Oliver/White factory in Charles City, IA closed many years ago.
Oliver 66 farmboy on you tube would probably know about that Oliver tractor
