Tuned wine glasses are a beautiful thing, and depending on the density of the contents you can also produce different tonalities
In a similar case, the glass harmonica works in the same way but based off of pressure and friction applied onto bowls of different sizes, with smaller bowls producing higher pitches. The instrument is also extremely easy to break, due to resonating pitches shattering the glass, which is also ludicrously expensive to repair. It's a whole other level of expertise and precision. They're also called Hydrocrystalaphones, which I think is really pretty

THEIR RECORDINGS ARE SIGHT READ?!?! That's insane! I can't imagine being so masterful in my instrument to feel comfortable having some of my first experiences with a new piece of music to be recorded and used all over the world in a popular video game. I thought not all orchestra players were in the legendary tier list though, you'd need to be someone extremely special to be able to sight read on the spot and play it whatever it is.

When I heard that Hoyoverse was getting the London Symphony Orchestra and Ziegler on board for the new region, I was pleasantly surprised. I should not had been surprised as they have a long history of insane music quality over years now. I have no idea how they are going to up the aunty for the next region. I still have not gotten over the Fibonacci sequence being used as a time signature.
The glass armonica is a really difficult instrument to play. Getting the right pressure on the glass and sustaining it is touchy. Also the glass is very fragile.
Oh, so percussion was in charge of the glass harp. I was wondering who would have taken on that instrument.

I noticed you've been working with Genshin Impact ever since the first music tracks were recorded, so it's absolutely fascinating to see you offer some insight into the music of the game. I would love to hear more of your thoughts on this game's music and the comparisons that can be drawn to the classical music from which HOYO-MiX draws heavy inspiration; as well as your experiences working with the huge variety of different musicians in addition to Hoyoverse themselves.
It would also be great to hear some more about the making of Sumeru's soundtrack as well, as I feel like the multitude of ethnic instruments played alongside the symphony orchestra (like the bağlama sitting behind you in this video) provides a very interesting challenge for classical trained musicians.
Also, if I may be so bold, since you worked a lot with the game's original composer Yu-Peng Chen, did you perceive any difference working on the Fontaine score that was composed after his departure from the team?

I think of your concert whenever I hear those tracks when I'm playing Genshin Impact. I think of the live video. You gave us, the community, such a huge gift. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!

This was a very lovely surprise in my youtube recommended! I never thought thered be a chance to hear from the talented people involved in these concerts like this. Conductors are a bit of a mystery for me, so thank you for sharing and showing what the process is like to be a conductor. Ive never imagined they have to follow such a complicated sheet of music. In hindsight it makes sense haha Now if only i could understand how to exactly follow a conductor, Ive tried before, but to no avail 😔
Really liked the format of editing in the questions of the people who've reacted to the performance
P.S. This live symphony performance is one of my favorites, absolutely adore Fontaine's theme. Thank you for all the work youve put into making it happen!

Hey! Thank you for your great work... 💖 I was really amazed when they shown this musical piece on 4.0 Special Program livestream. But I have a few questions... Was Fontaine Live Symphony filmed in one go? I mean... did any of those musicians made a mistake? And if not... What would happen if they made one? Would you play an entire musical score from the beginning? (By the way, I'm sorry for my not-so-good english, I'm not english native speaker!). Also... Thank you and have a nice day!

Huge respect. Thank you for this video. I never knew that the musician is seeing the song for the first time.
Question: What happens if one person messes up in the middle? Do you restart?

Very thanks, from me, a gamer, who really dedicates to hear, analyse and feel myself better of Genshin OST. I'm not a musician, but watching this kind of videos, and how musicians makes magic in form of music is really awesome. Thanks to you for being the conductor, and I hope I will see you in the future.
