Flute is one of the most prominent instrument used in the music from three out of the five released region, so far. Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru. Though most the flute used were the traditional ones, you've proven that it is playable with modern flute.

Fontaine also utilises flute. We just don't notice because we're too fixated on the Renaissance (organ), Baroque (harpsichord and archlute) and Romantic (cornet and violin) period aspects.
There's a full-out flute solo in the northern regions (forgot what it's called I am terrible at remembering piece names).

Starting at around 7:20, you have the theme song for the region of Sumeru in the game. The region is based around a mix of South Asian and Arabian cultures, so you'll hear a lot of Indian instruments like Sitar (8:18) and Bansuri, which is an Indian bamboo flute (8:33), along with percussion instruments like tabla and mridangam, and Arabian instruments like Oud. The music up until this part is the work of Yu Peng Chen. He did a phenomenal job with fusing traditional instruments with both classical and modern western instruments.

The Genshin OST is one of the best game OSTs ever written. Chen Yu Peng is a GOD LEVEL composer! At first you'd think its mostly Hisaishi Joe Ghibli influenced stuff, but Chen Yu Peng really makes his own magical crazy thing, with the best orchestra players from around the globe and with the most talented, exotic musicians. The score should win awards, seriously!
And the game is pretty good fun, it just takes a lot of time to play

Yu Peng Chen already stopped making music for genshin if i' not wrong, so putting all the credit on him is kinda unfair.. don't get me wrong i love him, i think he's a legend, and with out him genshin wouldn't be genshin. But still, telling the narrative of "genshin music is conposed by Yu Peng Chen" is unfair to others

@PotatoGurlSasha same, I recently re-listened to his earlier songs and I was hit by the feels in how amazing his composing was, especially his piano playing. I noticed that most of the piano pieces in the more recent patches don't have that delicate feel anymore, and Genshin team seem to even re-use some of his piano pieces to save production probably. I just have that slither of hope that Yu Peng has a chance to collaborate with the team again, even if it was just a piano part of a song or just as a guest musician, which would be really cool.

What a pleasant surprise this video was! One of my favorite musicians enjoying music from an OST that I love! 🥰
I'm sure that many of us would enjoy watching you react to more music from the game! The OST really is a masterpiece and as a flutist myself, I can assure you that the flute features prominently! ☺ To give you a little background on the game, there are different regions that are modeled after real world countries or regions. Each year a new region in game is released. So far, we have regions influenced by Germany (Mondstadt), China (Liyue), Japan (Inazuma), India/Egypt/Middle East (Sumeru), and France have been released so far. That is why the music utilizes so many local instruments.
The music from Inazuma, the country based on Japan is probably my favorite. I recommend "A Harmonious Rest," "A Night Watch," "Dirge of the Soundless," "Lingering Blossom," and "In a Harmonious Atmosphere." The latter two do not prominently feature the flute, but they are exquisite, particularly "In a Harmonious Atmosphere," blending Western and Eastern themes beautifully.
Whether you react to more OST or not, I think you would enjoy listening to the music on your own! There are several live performances as well, like the one you watched. Realm of Tranquil Eternity:Inazuma Live Symphony Performance is one such performance featuring the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Duel in the Mist - Inazuma OST Battle Theme MV is another video with music from Inazuma that features only traditional Japanese instruments.

    - Emotional story music:

    - Exploration music:
Stories of Remote Antiquity, , Sink into Oblivion
    - Battle music:

    - Relaxing BGM:
Legend of Redemption, A Tranquil Town, Village Surrounded by Green, Ann's Quiescent Residence

I think music is one of the best parts of the game.
Also that large instrument was the sitar.

Could not agree more with how Genshin music is such a elevating experience, I used to play in orchestra on oboe when I was in school and that work of art reignited my passion for playing again
even if not for a video I would recommend looking at recent Fontaine concert, really a heartwarming experience

you blew my mind by emulating shakuhachi wonderfully, I didn't imagine it would be possible to have this more "blown" sound with this feeling of air on the transverse flute. I'm a drummer and percussionist, I'm passionate about the flute and watching your videos just makes me want to learn how to play even more.

I got so many chills from your covers, from 6:13 - 6:33 sounded so good on the flute. And just the opening menu music made me a little emotional.

I really wish this was the fully uncut viewing of the concert. This is my favourite concert and I am obsessed with Genshin Impact music as a musician myself. HOYO MIX was my most listened to artist in 2023.

Thank you so much for this video! I have loved genshin's music since the first time I heard it, but somehow I've always hesitated from playing any of it on my western flute (i guess I didn't think I could do those beautiful traditional instruments justice) Seeing you have fun with all those beautiful traditional flute melodies has inspired me to pick up my own flute and see what kinds of sounds i can make :)

It's really cool that you can recreate the flute sounds from other kinds of flute with yours! And yes, please download the game :D It has such a beautiful world, incredible music, and amazing lore!

As you guessed, genshin's composer Yu-peng Chen likes to add flutes to his music because he was a clarinet player in his school days

the "Big Instrument" is called "Sitar" and there's also one more like this which is called "Veena"! Both instruments are originated from "INDIA"! you can call it more traditional version of "Guitar" and it was invented way before the guitar! In fact the origin of "Flute" came from "INDIA".

Sitar was invented somewhere around 1800s-1900s, it’s more of a modern instrument

      Flute part is correct
As for sitar its not that old instrument and veena is ancient along with Bansuri(murali, bansi, venu whatever u name it)
