Rhapsodia Roscida and Polumnia Omnia, in that order. One of the most incredible boss themes ive ever heard from a videogame. Highly regarded as Yu-Peng Chens grand opus before he left hoyomix.
      Other amazing themes:
-Symphony of boreal wind and Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie (germany)
-Fontaine region theme and Virelia des marees (France)
-Inazuma region theme, Overlord of the Thunderstorm and Thunderings of the Merciless (Japan)
-Sumeru region theme, Swirls of the stream and Across Dimming Asterisms (Middle east)
The brackets are just for context of the themes region of origin in the game. I could quite honestly list about 59 tracks but these are big standouts for me personally. Im more of a fan of the battle themes but there are also many amazing ambient tracks others can reccomend.

"A Storm, A Spire, and a Sanctum" is one of my favorite tracks in the game, and there's a special thing about this one, usually when you engage an enemy the battle theme for that region starts playing, but "A Storm, A Spire, and a Sanctum" is an exception, it keeps playing even in battle

28:11 my heart, this was my first genshin OST i heard. 3 years and 3 months ago i can still remember. Downloading genshin took ages. So when it finally was on, it was past midnight. My dark chamber with the bright light from the log in screen. This song played and i sat there, headphones in, admiring this piece. My heart pounding in my chest if excitement wanting to open the game but I couldn’t. I had to listen, i sat there like that for at least 5 minutes.

The way you talked about Caelestinum Finale Termini, Dvalin's battle theme, made me realize the picture it paints with the music. With the rapid string work mimicking the harsh winds swirling around, but the vocals are smooth and graceful, no different than the way Dvalin soars with ease through those rapid winds with his massive draconic size and control over said winds. The crescendo at the end lifting to a peak, almost like a screech. The roar of Dvalin before falling with a grand thump as portrayed by the only prominent percussion.
The lack of percussion throughout make the melody feel as if its floating, as if all the notes are swirled in a whirlwind before finally being "grounded" by the ending as he falls. Man I have not appreciated that theme enough.

That light percussion you hear in the background of Dvalin's battle theme is actually a typewriter. If you think using a typewriter as percussion is a novel idea, you are in for a treat because that is only the beginning of the uniqueness of this music. Later you will hear the Fibonacci sequence used as a time signiture, a glass ammoniac for the nation of hydro, and a mix of genera. The mash of EDM and traditional Japanese folk is rather interesting.

EDM is my favorite genre of music and even I know this soundtrack is better than most video game soundtracks by several leagues. EDM all the time is boring for a game. It's fun to jam to, but doesn't make a moving game. And HoYoVerse knows that. With so many different cultures and genres of music, from traditional to modern to futuristic (dubstep), this game literally encompasses every single genre currently invented. There is no composer alive that I know of with such talent.

As a classical musician, I heavily recommend the main themes (named directly after the regions) Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine, and their open-world battle themes. I really good way to react to them is through the live recordings Genshin has on their channel. I love the EDM and more modernized soundtracks by Hoyomix, but I recommend starting with the more symphonic tracks first.
A little info on Genshin's soundtrack: back when Yu-Peng Chen was the main composer, most of the songs were very symphonic, which holds a place in my heart. It had a certain style. These days every track is composed by several composers and doesn't hold the same collective feel. Some are very atmospheric, baroque, or electronic. I have nothing against this. In fact in makes it exciting while exploring even more.

Symphony of the Boreal Wind (Andrius), Rage Beneath the Mountains (Azhdaha), Saltatio Favillae (La Signora), Polumnia Omnia (Scaramouche), All-Devoring Narwhal (same).
    - Emotional story music:

    - Exploration music:
Stories of Remote Antiquity, , Sink into Oblivion
    - Battle music:

    - Relaxing BGM:

If you wan't to react to more of what Genshin has to offer (which I highly recommend). I think you should react to sountracks from each region separately. The main songs for each region plus the bright gems within the album. I will recommend those bright gems here: (F=Fontaine, I=Inazuma, S=Sumeru, M=Monstadt, L=Liyue are the song regions story-wise)
    M - Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie. **
    S - Port Ormos. *
M - Symphony of Boreal Wind
S - Jolts in the Forest
S - For Riddles, for Wonders
L - (Trio) All-Conquering Tide, Never-Ending Performance, Wrath of Monoceros Caeli
    F - Fontaine's Overture
    S - Dance of Sabzeruz. *
I - Embrace of Sea Waves
I - The Land of Her Serenity
    L - Myriad of Lights. *
    I - Undersea Encounters
    F - Lamentation et Triomphe
    L - Moon in One's Cup
    F - Pluie sur la Ville. *
    F - La vaguelette. *
    S - Gilded Runner
    S - Rhymes of Vales. *
    - Combat Beneath the Waves
    - inevitable conflict **
I - When the Sakura Bloom
    F - Ballad of Many Waters. *
    L - Maiden's Longing. *
    M - Elogia Cinerosa
    F - Emberfire (non-instrumental)
Most of these you would find if you explore the albums. As a fan of the GI sountracks without actually playing the game, these are the OSTs that I could name off of the top of my head that are not the major, front cover songs in the albums.
    * are my favorites in the list
You can also spend a couple hours reacting to the sountracks for each individual character trailer!

This was such a phenomenal breakdown. I loved it. Just keep going album by album and I’ll be ecstatic to hear your thoughts on them all. I hope your musical chops are up to it, because the classical European stuff takes a major backfoot (tho never entirely absent) moving forward until Fontaine.

I think the last song is from one of their promotional trailers. Honestly I think their promotional version trailers often have some of the best arrangements, they usually sample little bits of the environment, characters and dramatic points of the story and the music just blends so well together.

This is why I still play Genshin, it is so much deeper to be clouded by the lack of rewards drama(of course you you'll feel that way because you have to grind them hence open world HSR don't have hidden chest etc.) the deep iceberg lore and amazing composition of music is what's keeping me fed of that gamer vigor to play the game.

Great video! I want more. But, for me, it is tough to say which pieces you should do next at this point. I love almost too many pieces in each album they released. I think you should keep doing it this way, doing each album. Doing it might get a little bit rough, though lol. Doing per region would be great too, but the pieces selection becomes hard if you only want to do a number of them. My little giddy ol' heart just want to enjoy one of my favorite vgm with some professional input.

I saw an entire hour of listening and commenting on Genshin music and I just HAVE to subscribe! It's rare that I see someone react to an entire album instead of selected songs, so I am so happy for this! I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on all the other albums-- Especially as how unique they get with each new region! I am not versed in music, but I love learning through others! I've learned new terms watching your video and I hope I can internalize those and see if I can pick those out the next time I listen to more of Genshin's OST!
I know many people will suggest specific OSTs or region-based songs, but I would honestly love for you to listen to each of the albums wholly. It doesn't have to be one whole video, just a good chunk of them in the order that their albums put them on. It's just that there are also pieces in them that others may not get to hear that are hidden in the game or in limited-time-areas... I really hope you get to hear those hidden gems too. Plus, hearing an album lets you point which songs are derivative of another, in comparison to doing one OST at a time.
This community playlist has all the discs/albums that Genshin has put up in order that you can check for future references!:
    ruclips.net/video/AALrH26HAmw/видео.html
I look forward to more of your videos and insights on these! Also your covers on the songs inbetween the commentary are so cool! I am looping the Genshin musicbox OSTs now too... they're so beautiful thank you for making them! In the future, would you consider picking making more Genshin music box that's in each region's themes?

I just wanted to point out that Genshin Impact is a MASSIVE melting pot of cultures when it comes to its music since each of the regions are based on real countries and cultures, along with many genres.
Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern/Indian, French, and general European themes and music soundscape. It also plays heavily into neo classical, rock, and EDM as well. There’s certainly a lot to react to, the over world battle themes and the boss battle themes are some of Genshins panicle songs and they’re all absolutely amazing.

I'm going to lose my mind the day you listen to Disco Elysium's soundtrack. And since you can trace connections between media so well, you're gonna love that game in general. It is one my favorite games, and the proof that video games are indeed, art.
When I first left the initial building, and "Instrument of Surrender" hit me at the same at those oil-painting art style, I think I truly experienced synesthesia for the first time. I could smell the sea, I felt the breeze, and I wanted to start crying. Disco Elysium got that sweet, comforting melancholy where things might not be good now, but you can "enjoy" this sadness and feel every moment of it, because eventually, you gonna be alright.
It is truly a masterpiece. Please, give it a try, not only the soundtrack, but the game.

Can't wait for you to get to the other regions with their soundtracks. So many good ones! My favourite nations for music, story and characters would have to be Inazuma, Sumeru and Fontaine. Enkanomiya and The Chasm also have beautiful, haunting tracks. But yes, Mondstadt has lovely music! It gives the classic fantasy music feel, but is still unique and stands out all the same. Dawn Winery has my fave music, especially the track called "Lone Sojouner." It's warm and cozy!

Great! Not only did I enjoy listening to Mondstadt music again but I had some takeaways.
While being a music enthusiast (though I admit I can be midway in the iceberg of music theory), I was first intrigued at chords playing on my electric organ using sus, mod, and dim chords. Though I might not follow what they really mean in music theory, I just felt like they're like different kinds of cherries-on-top or kind of that sort. I'm definitely not aware until now that those underlying concepts paved their way in the making of such excellent music!
And lastly I do admit that I'd like Mondstadt battle music the least (don't get me wrong they're great too especially the Dvalin battle theme). While I thought this was possibly so because Mondstadt has the easiest difficulty to clear in-game aside from other regions so far and thus its battle music needs to be sorta light weight too, you pointed out the key difference-that being the lowkey to no prescence of percussion and brass instruments in most of the battle themes in Mondstadt. After watching this video I learned to appreciate Yu Peng-chen's efforts into creating these beautiful masterpieces.
Btw if I have spare time sometimes I don't finish the battle right away and either deal slow damage or leave it at low HP then run around just to have the battle theme finish lol. Just to fully enjoy the immersive battle experience too. :>

Since you are a string player. Therefore, my following recommendations are mainly based on string instruments.
Inevitable conflict - HOYO-MIX(Yu-Peng Chen) - ruclips.net/video/xFSnm6OTi-Q/видео.html&ab_channel=Reitsuna (Piano concerto, but the string arrangement is also insane.)
Combat beneath the waves - HOYO-MIX(Yu-Peng Chen) ruclips.net/video/lE3WyuXNkUc/видео.html&ab_channel=Reitsuna (should be a string quartet, with vocals)
Undersea encounters - HOYOMIX(Dimeng Yuan) - ruclips.net/video/V9L9b5v7T-U/видео.html&ab_channel=Reitsuna (string quartet, but with some EDM and piano?)
La signora Boss theme - HOYOMIX(Yu-Peng Chen) - ruclips.net/video/NE8tlDeSLmk/видео.html&ab_channel=EdwinKrow (Insane strings, I can say no more)
Of course, Genshin also has a lot of very, very good music. What I recommend is only a small part. I hope you can react to these music.
Maybe after you react to some well-known genshin pieces, it may be a more valid choice to consider reacting an entire album. The above are just my personal suggestions.
