Season 1 of this show is my favorite season of television ever, in large part due to the writing which, in conjunction with the casting, made it an absolute masterpiece. What I love about this scene is that, in addition to everything else, they make sure it's as tightly written as the scenes were in the beginning. Every line serves a purpose and indirectly tells you something about the characters. And no one says anything that would be more appropriately said by another character. And it's acted beautifully, as is everything in this show.

Unlike Bridgerton season 3 which didn't show Penelope and Colin first meeting but decided to tell us, Gossip Girl came up with this scene, in the line of clasic tv principle - show don't tell. Even though you can tell they aged compared to actual season 1, I very much appreciate the effort
S1 Blair would kill whoever designed this party. Her s1 parties were gorgeous. Well it was Kati's so it made some sort of sense cause it felt like she disliked her. lol
Even though they look Young, they would NOT meet the standards of what they looked like in 1st season. I only bought it from Blair, but the rest seemed like a parody. Nevertheless, I love they tried to pulled this flashback off
Blake looks gorgeous as Serena but the flashback scene didn't gave the same goddess vibes as her standing at the Palace hotel as Dan looks on from the lobby. The low angle from Blair's staircase was not flattering and so was their recreation of Serena's effortlessly tussled hair s1. And Ed and Chace's bangs were hahaha the only one who captured their s1 essence was Blair and Dan. Justice for Serena.
I think the recorded it when it ended because of chuck. His hair is not the same as in season one (I think it looks like a wig) and his voice is deep like in the end.
They very obviously look a lot older than they did in season one so they just tried to make them look younger with makeup and clothes and filmed this during season 6 filming

I feel like those scene highlights how awful Serena is……she met Dan here and had no memory, she met him on thanksgiving and has no memory, she meets him in season 1 and acts as if she’s never even SEEN him around school before like he is a brand new student….it’s really not a great look
@@toladep styles come and go. They had to recreate the same looks from 6 years ago on actors who were probably in their mid-twenties. I think it was meant to look a bit dated, even when it aired.
