I just finished it a few weeks ago, and was surprised by how invested I became. I went into it knowing nothing, besides that Blake and Leighton were in it. Now it’ll probably go on my yearly rewatch list.

I agree 100% but I still think Dan should’ve ended up alone and Nate and Serena should’ve ended up together. Dan was basically a stalker he caused so much pain to everyone I literally hate dan tbh.
This was the worst ending for Gossip Girl. Nobody can stand Dan's behavior, he was such a fake, lier, immoral... He was the good guy in the first seasons but after 'Insider' he was busted.
I actually would’ve loved this ending if the season was longer. I liked watching Dan become a bit of a villain. It’s like the mask becoming the face. He pretends to be better than them, but he slowly becomes the exact same brand of shiny, cold plastic. It’s just the season ends way too soon, so Dan changing course in a handful of episodes, seems really abrupt.
The writers really said fugg all the character development and past storylines let‘s just have Blair and Serena act like in Season 1 and wrap this show up asap
I can’t believe Blair still looked down on him after what they have been thro together. I mean he helped her during her darkest days. I believe it’s the writers who couldn’t really think or wait for the series wrapping and they just came up with sudden transition in Blair’s character was horrible. “ in real life, No matter how horrible a human can be, he/she will not forget who helped them in their darkest time.” Plus she is not announcing in public, she is talking to Serena in private. Therefore, such a sharp words wouldn’t came out of her mouth.
Yea the show really made Dan into a villain the last season it was random to me. And they did all that build up with Dan and Blair just to reset them to they original dislike for each other. Like wtf lol

Dan was the former nobody in school who got revenge by cyber bullying the mean, popular kids, but now he’s a 22 year old man still writing about it. What’s worse is most, if not all, of those popular kids slowly became his friends, and he still lied and gaslit every one of them for 6 years.

1)Chuck let his father die after Bart tried to kill him first, if he had survived he would've tried to murder his son again. When a parent treats their kid the way Bart treated Chuck then he doesn't even deserve to be called a father. 2)Do u even watch anything other than GG? There are millions of shows and movies that show a way to outsmart the police or commit the perfect crime.

So Blair can excuse Chuck's terrible behavior, but when it's Dan, it's something else, all because of the fact that Dan didn't grow up wealthy. I mean she herself dated him. What Chuck did wrong, he grew up from, recognized it and apologized for it to Blair, so it was excusable in the end and he wouldn't do it again (i don't mean their typical scheming stuff, but when it comes to that they never pretended to be angels, unlike Dan).
Watch the show again please. Blair never forgave chuck for what he did. She ended there relationship after the hotel incident. It took them YEARS to get back together, yes the had a friends with brights relationship and hate sec but they did not get back together at all!!!! Chuck let her go in the season finale of season4 ( maybe you didn’t watch that!!) He stayed always from her for most of season five while he went to THERAPY ( imagine that!!!) Blair wanted chuck she loved chuck. Chuck was a part of her he would always be. She cane back to him MANY times on her own. Blair wasn’t happy with dan yes it was a cute fun relationship but her heart was chucks always. Blair choose chuck in the end to love him always just like she had since she was sixteen. There love was complicated intense all consuming inconvenient and that can’t live withOut you love. Yes you don’t want that much drama in a relationship but to have everlasting live is what matters.
Chuck also let her go to be the powerful women that’s he wanted to be on her own.. He apologized for everything he had done to her. Yes apologized for everything! Sometimes all someone needs to hear is an apology. He would and after that never hurt her. They were together in the end because they both grew and changed for each other. This classist toxicity in Upper East Siders like Blair is exactly what had led Dan to want to get back at them or be in control. Honestly, apart from the fact that the showrunners thrust the identity of Gossip Girl onto Dan at the very end, Dan's character was the least problematic or questionable of them all, along with Nate (who also made some horrible errors in judgment throughout in life). Yes Dan acted like a selfish, hypocritical prick at times in season 5 and 6, and often was too morally righteous and judgmental. But at his best, he was relatively more sane, relatable, supportive, balanced than all those Upper East Side privileged brats. Especially the two towers of toxicity Chuck and Blair who had hurt, abused, cheated each other and a lot of other people around them in a multitude of ways throughout. A lot of people dislike Dan because perhaps, as Serena said, "Yes we do all this shit to each other too, but you were supposed to be different". So we always kind of expected him to be this flawless model of virtue throughout. And any time he deviated slightly, it came as a shock.
Lol I find it completely hilarious how most people find dan to be this repugnant and a moral person. He definitely isn't the good guy but neither is anyone else on that show including Nate. As far as I'm concerned with the way his behavior was in season 5 and 6 he belongs right where he is with the rest of them.
I liked Dan in the earlier seasons, but my problem with him was he stands on the moral high ground looking down on them all the time. But his behavior was just as bad, if not worse. The hypocrisy is astounding.

I don’t think that the writers ended the show this way for the Fans .This relationship was the core of the show for all six seasons. It’s made 100 % sense for them to end up together. They loved each other like they never loved anyone else. Blair’s other relationships were cute and nice but that was not who she wanted to be with. If you knew the character you would actually know who she should end with but since you like certain couple you choose to be bitter since they didn’t end up together. I’m not a fan of any couple I’m a fan of the show. Took time to watch the show and not just like one couple together. If Blair was a real person I would want her to be with someone she loved not someone I picked for her.
Serious, I don't understand why everybody loves Blair. When I was 17 and naïve, ok. Now I'm 27 and think she is spoiled, elitist, narcissist, and Dan had his troubles, but nothing like her. I didn’t think anyone forgot but wasn’t that scene in like the first episode like 4 years maybe five years before the finale. I also remember that Jenny went the next day to Blair’s to make sure it up her social status.Didn't she become friends with chuck and he saved her from Damon when he was showing her how to drug deal.. also didn’t he apologized to her and tell her he would stay away from her if she wanted him out of the apartment. In season three she actually choose to sleep with him. YES she Kisses him took her clothes of walked over to his bed and stayed in there when he asked her if she wanted to leave. She blew out the candle and had sex consensual intercourse. And if I remember Rufus said that Jenny told him it was not chucks fault what happened that night( in season three) Yes chuck did rewritable things but he never acted like he was innocent he admitted what he had done with Blair and tried to give her happiness. She came back to him in the end

His friendship and relationship with Serena was one of my favorite she always went to him when she was in trouble or needed help. They had a good brother and sister relationship. She even worried about him when he went missing in Paris

In season three she actually choose to sleep with him. YES she Kisses him took her clothes of walked over to his bed and stayed in there when he asked her if she wanted to leave. She blew out the candle and had sex consensual intercourse. And if I remember Rufus said that Jenny told him it was not chucks fault what happened that night( in season three) Yes chuck did rewritable things but he never acted like he was innocent he admitted what he had done with Blair and tried to give her happiness. She came back to him in the end
No one is forgetting sexual assault but chuck made amends with people he hurt. Blair , Jenny , Serena. His friendship and relationship with Serena was one of my favorite she always went to him when she was in trouble or needed help. They had a good brother and sister relationship. She even worried about him when he went missing in Paris
