That car is so, so cool. Curt also let me do a couple laps, loved the throttle response but the steering wheel was touching my legs so could only shuffle it hahah. Still, I half expected the seat position so close to rear axle to be weird, but its a very easy to drift chassis. And it looks so amazing
Love it! I definitely think some time spent reconfiguring the cage and seating position would go a long way. For anyone looking at this thinking it's a crazy race car: these are G Body GM frame rails with a linked rear suspension and adjustable control arms. Everything for these can be bought cheaply through companies like Speedway and Day motorsports. You could definitely build a mild TXSL style version from a Regal, Cutlass, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Grandprix or Malibu. Thanks for the content, Aaron. I hope these comments help with your engagement or whatever.
Why did I read this tonight 🤦♂️ I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to build up an it’s definitely not going to be a 350z lol. A 86 cutlass would be a fun build an look wild sideways.
I have always loved the early 70's Chevelles but now I'm low-key obsessed. Awesome build first time I ever hear of a steering quickener must be crazy to drive this beautiful heap of metal.
MY GODDD THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! I LOVE PPL USING MUSCLES FOR DRIFTING I THINK EVERYDAY THAT THEY ARE MADE EXACTLY FOR THIS. The power the bodies the FUN!!!! In all youtube there´s has to be 3 or 4 properly builded muscles for this type of races. Thanks a lot man! I really enjoyed the video.
Now I know what I’m going to do with my 71 Monte Carlo 🤙🏻 I was just at pats acres yesterday and was hoping to see his car. Curious what motor he’s running. Circle track small block?
Now that you've been actively drifting one similar, would you say that this kind of chassis could be a simple easy/reliable way for someone to have a purpose built platform repurposed to drift competitively?
Yes if the series allowed them to use it, and if the driver was competent enough to deal with a race car that doesn't come with a manual and standard parts like a 350Z. There is a bit more possible setup with weights and the handling of the car, and it isn't as simple as a 350z to setup. If the car is transitioning crazy weird or something, you would need to figure it out. It isn't crazy complex, just not a drivers first drift car.
@LoneStarDrift well you hit the nail on the head with my concerns. I wasn't sure if the chassis would be considered a little farther along as it stood then having to start from scratch with something like a Z
I'm a mad af Australian and I'm still a big no thanks to sit beside that accusump . Hot cooking oil is only 1 small o ring away at what 30 plus psi pressure
guy who owns the car should stop entering with hand brake on every corner if he wants to develop skill. The car has more than enough power to break lose without a hand brake. Should not really be needed at all on entry in that car. Not trying to be a dick just giving some real advice if he want's to take drifting a little more seriously
@@brock83196831 not sure why you're face palming.. People who over use the handbrake get stuck relying on the handbrake as a crutch and it ends up being the only way they know how to drift. Guy can drift how ever he wants but if he want's to be proper he should learn some other techniques for entry and use the handbrake more for corrections
So good that he's brought some real old school hot rodding into drifting
This guy has a great presense, with the repetitive questions he just goes with it,it seems he's opened up drifting for another breed of folk
That thing rips! But please... we need a video from the outside too, I gotta see how this thing looks sideways around those corners!!!
Yessss
Some tandem footage
ruclips.net/video/bzr6CKg5rpM/видео.html
@@paul66766 that was pretty cool to see that big beast ripping around like that, Thank you!
Theres plenty of videos from parc and spirit peaks that have that car drifting in it. Curt doesnt miss many track days
11:31 "Just drive it like you stole it"
Aaron with the quickness "you mean *borrowed* it"
lmao that got me
The spinning shift knob at 4:31 is probably my favorite part of the car. Absolutely love it!
I love that you called him out in a subtle yet not so subtle way for having the damn accusump mounted inside the cabin. 👌🏼👌🏼

id love to see this thing slide but from the outside, must be a pleasure for the viewers!
Curt let me drive this at spirit peaks it's badass
I love pats acres. Such a fun drift track
Does the lack of steering rotation take the fun out of it a little bit or does the sheer craziness make up for it?
That Ricky Bobby helmet is fuckin sick lol. “ I wanna go sideways! “
this went into the wall hard this weekend at villains
This has inspired me
White bread helmet is gangster.
Reminds me of a Roadkill build

I'm all for sketchy shit too and I wouldn't wanna be near that either!!!
Literally buy ANYTHING and turn it into a drifter.
Back to school ! 😁
So this is what happens when a gen x drives a boomer car.
