Funny enough I just did this challenge today before I saw this video. I used this to stress being inside the ball more which is what I'm working on. I'm a rev dominate player and this helped me a lot with getting up the back of the ball for the first two arrows. It's a great challenge and I plan on doing it more often to reinforce what I'm learning.
Hi Brad and Kyle, I have only been bowling for 6 months. My average has gone from 79, to 98, to 113, 126, and now I seem stuck around 130-139. I bought most of my balls from a thrift store. They are very old ones: 1) 16lb (dark green) Hammer Fab. I believe its urethane. 2) 15lb (golden) Hammer Black Widow. 3) 15lb (blue/green/yellow) Ebonite Mission X. And I bought new: 1) 15lb (black/gold) Ebonite Destiny. A low level hybrid. 2) 15lb Brunswick T-Zone. A lowest level urethane. The two new ones are the only ones that I truly know what they are. I have been watching and learning from your videos and am a subscriber. I am very excited because I have learned to hook a few of my balls, but believe I am limited. I realize that I don't have a a full complementary arsenal and want to build it up and include ones that allow mid range hook and ones that allow deeper hook. I also understand the need for balls at each level for no to low oil, intermediate oil, and mid to heavy oil levels. I have a 6 bagger, two 2 baggers, and one single balls bag. Can you help me and send me, by email or text, your suggestions for building my arsenal? I could be wrong, but I believe it's time to get rid of my older balls. What do you think? Should I hold on to them? Or will the newer one cover what they do? Pastor Maurice Maurice_Cornwell2000@yahoo.com (202)531-1763
Pastor Maurice, In my opinion you should get rid the 16 lb. ball and probably any ones that have not been drilled to fit your hand. It is very hard to bowl well with poorly fitted equipment. With an average in the 130s I think you would be better served by taking some lessons from a certified coach. I have known quite a few bowlers over the years who maintained averages from the 150s to the 170s using only one ball. P.s. the T-Zone is polyester, not urethane. It’s a very good ball to bring to shoot spares where accuracy is more important than power.
That last shot definitely landed on 6th arrow, still impressive though. An alternative to striking that is still really helpful is just trying to hit the pocket from each arrow.
I know this is an older video, but I think my question is still relevant today. Can you explain foot position and how it relates to how one throws over the arrows? Is there a ratio? I am a right hander and take a four-step approach. My left foot is just left of the center dot on the floor. If I am bowling over the first arrow and I am hitting high on the head pin, what is the ratio of boards to the left where the dots are in relationship to the boards where the arrows are? Is it five boards left on the floor and one board left at the arrows? By the way, love your vlog content!
Will you guys be doing Low Ball as well? To help with spare pick ups for the 7 and 10s. Each frame you have to hit 7 on it's own and 10 on it's own. Knocking the 4 and the 6 are ok to knock down with the 7 and 10, but the goal is to keep the lowest score possible without guttering.
Would have been nice for you to explain where you were standing for each other. Helpful explaining targeting and angles. I'm assuming you were working off the 8 boards principle ?
Wow i do,something right. I have only bowled regularly since the end of july. Once i bought my first ball a 900 global money badger pearl .after i was told how to hook the ball . I started throwing the ball at each of the arrows just to see how the ball would react. I joined a league a few weeks ago to help up my game. My highest score Is 192 . But doing this while i practiced has helped me read the oil patterns and where to throw the ball at the money badger does best when throwing from the far left between the 6th and 7th arrow. O and thank you 2 your videos have helped my game a ton. I,have 140:average i thought it sucked for a average until i joined the league and seen people that has bowled allot longer have a lower average then me. I have a new ball to learn . I will be using this method to figure out the new ball. I bought a ebonite stinger hybrid. The pro shop guy put the thumb hole near the instead of the fingers because i am a full roller. And the stinger does not react the same as the badger when i throw.
The stinger is not going to react the same, simply because the balls are different. It's nothing wrong with the drilling or the ball, it's just that it's made for different conditions than the Badger
Some folks use a 7 board system with their feet, i.e. if I'm targeting 2nd arrow (10 board) then stand 17 with feet. I am a bit wider as a human being so I like a 10 board system. Targeting 3rd arrow (15) I line up my left foot on 25. But it is very subjective and no one way is wrong.
@@jeremiegrund yes precisely, it all depends on multiple factors, including how close your swing gets to your ankle, the angle you're trying to run, and just simply what is comfortable for you, like, my go-to is generally I want the board I'm looking at to be half of where I'm standing, since I usually have to give it a lot of angle because of my rev rate and ball speed, and then I just adjust from there based on the reaction I see
I've done that drill before but didn't do nearly as well lol. I got the first 3 arrows without an issue, took 2 shots on 4, 1 shot from 5th arrow, 4-5 from 6 and I gave up on 7 after 8 attempts lol
When Kyle threw for the 7th arrow, I was anticipating whether he could get it or not. But nooo, youtube decided to play ads right when the ball was rushing through the middle of the lane 🥲 what a cliffhanger
I will do the 6 arrow challenge. I will end up destroying my ball in the left gutter if I try lofting the ball that far down the lane. Maybe I need to grow a mustache. 【ツ】
Once you can consistently repeat the 6th arrow, take it a board left at a time instead of moving the full arrow. Eventually, you’ll be able to do it. Just takes a lot of practice.
Kyle with the mustache is no longer Kyle, he has evolved into Mr. Sherman
Also I think the name of that style of mustache is called "The Sherman".
if he's mr sherman that makes brad mr peabody...right?? =)
I think “super Sherman”
I am leaning more toward Mario
I say grow the goatee. Lol
"puts you in an uncomfortable spot."
Like the backseat of a Volkswagen?
Kyle looks like an extra from Super Troopers.
It’s a me... MARIO!! 😂🤣💪🏾
Except without the hat, ROFL!!!
@@88Mickyfan 🤣😭
Im pretty sure these guys gave me a speeding ticket last week.
What a killer comment
Yo fr, kyles got a cop stache

Thank you J Anderson. I do appreciate your input. The 16lb one will be going to Goodwill today.
I'm just a newbie, how to select the correct weight ball? Guide to buy your own pro shoes & ball??? 😁 Help please
Thanks!
What do you line up with, right foot left foot or center of body?
Is that Parker Bohn III at 25?
🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking that the first time the stache appeared. Today I think he looks more like a taller version of Ryan Shaeffer
Keep the drills comin boys, great video
Welcome to the mustache club. It is such a good stache. I’ve been rocking it for about four months now. Just keep it maintained and looking good!
This drill looks awesome, but I would like to know what moves that are made with your feet to line up with the arrows?
This!!
I was rooting for you in the playoffs Brad ☝️
You were so close!
Love the stash
That was awesome! Great video guys.

What board does your right foot start on for each of these arrows?
Nice ima try this today. Thanks! Guys
What talent 👏, you guys are stars 🌟 🌟.
That 7th arrow shot was crazy loft. Thank you
Hell yeah I got that from the promo thing a few months. It really helped me
Awesome 👏
How do you work on lofting the ball so far?

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice video! I use this drill sometimes when I practice aswell!
But I have to say, that last shot looked more like the 6th arrow then the 7th ;)
Brad all grown up and bowling with Luigi ;)
Thanks for the video Deputy Sherman
That’s funny, my high school coach made my team do this just a few days ago for the first time
SPIFFY SOUND EFFECTS!
Nice video as always 👍
Bruh. That first ball looked SO fast
Kyle, you got some dirt on your lip man.
Great video!!
Kyle's mustache is hilarious!

You killed that challenge bro!! ☺️👏🏽💪🏽
And now why do I fee like buying some pasta sauce of Kyle?! Haha 😆
Dude it’s so crazy cuz I bowl at this place omg 😳 😳
Great video, guys. Btw Kyle, you might have to lose the 'stache, lol.
He looks like borat
Hey , Kyle do a simo. Back up into 1 - 2 😃
Only miss was the go to TV shot (4th arrow). Nice bowling
AMAZING!
Brad let's see you do it ;)
Keep the stash Kyle
Can Brad have Kyle come to Sugar Creek at Brad's home center at Sterling Bowl and do instructional videos?
Is your right foot starting on that arrow also?
No, your feet are wherever you're comfortable, but the ball has to go over the arrow

“Its a ME KYLE” lolz that frakin mustache
Kyle looking like Parker Bone
I've done that drill before but didn't do nearly as well lol. I got the first 3 arrows without an issue, took 2 shots on 4, 1 shot from 5th arrow, 4-5 from 6 and I gave up on 7 after 8 attempts lol
Not sure if Kyle is there to bowl or fix the water heater
I love how Brad is on the thumbnail but he didn’t bowl once
He's busy making TV Finals. Jk. 【ツ】
He looks like younger Pete weber with the stache
Kyle great job and it wasn't for Brad's pessimistic comment, you would have gone 7 for 7!!!
Don’t need seven arrow drill. Kyle can just sweep the pins of the deck with that push broom. Check out that smiling Del Ballard ‘91 ‘stache!
Brads turn
When Kyle threw for the 7th arrow, I was anticipating whether he could get it or not.
But nooo, youtube decided to play ads right when the ball was rushing through the middle of the lane 🥲 what a cliffhanger
Are those ball returns from 1985??
Still not used to seeing Kyle with a mustache even though I’ve seen him with one a few times😂
Ive never heard this drilled called anything but the walter ray drill lol dead eye
I’m curious to try this as a 2H bowler, it’s going to be weird!
BOOOM
I’m a lefty, so we practice the ‘two arrow challenge’
Walled
Here's a video about hitting arrows, we are gonna show you 1 shot of 7 of the ball actually going over the arrows.
Look at that stash on Kyle.
Done it, yes it was hard, wont say how many shots it took,,,, it was a lot...
#TheStache 😄😆😄😆 #RespectTheGrind
That was great ☺️ LMAO.
by arrow you mean where your ball starts or where your feet end up, asking for my son. :-)
I sure hope your son’s feet dont’t end up at the arrows.
It's where the ball goes over the arrows
He lofted over the 6th arrow and called it the "7th" arrow.
I don't think i can ever do the 1st or 7th arrow
spares, key. a shot is decent as long as makeable spare.
Totally calling a foul on that 4th shot lol 😆
95% of league bowlers are never gonna have to play 1st arrow and 80% of those couldn’t get off 2nd arrow...
Kyle with the mustache is now transformed into the sherminator.
Literally over 7th arrow. 😳
You're still going to let Kyle walk around with the mustache huh Brad.
Kyle went from PBA bowler to Thursday night league bowler
I will try it, WHEN THEY WILL ACTUALLY OPEN THE DAMN BOWLING CENTERS. cant bowl for 4 months.
@Matthew28Hawk a lot of the ones in Illinois had to close yet again because of another shut down by our *glorious* leader JB Pritzker
The first shot tho
Vote for Pedro!
Super Troopers go bowling the movie
I am lefthanded. Does this apply to me? Lol
Looks like that mustache added 10 years to your age. What's next, beer belly?😆
Pretty sure that was right of 7th arrow
Prather could make that 7th arrow shot. Just sayin... I'm sure he'd say Kyle just got lucky. lol
Kyles stache😂
I will do the 6 arrow challenge. I will end up destroying my ball in the left gutter if I try lofting the ball that far down the lane. Maybe I need to grow a mustache. 【ツ】
Once you can consistently repeat the 6th arrow, take it a board left at a time instead of moving the full arrow. Eventually, you’ll be able to do it. Just takes a lot of practice.
what is that mustache lmao
This guy gave me a speeding ticket for going 69 last week...
kyle looks like luigi with no beard
Is that Baker Mayfield 🤣
