    Hey mate, just have to say, your videos have been a godsend for my current LS2 swap. I’ve almost finished now but the only thing I’m struggling with is the fan wiring. I see you explained a bit but I’m still fairly lost on what I should be doing, I’ve got a very similar set up as yourself and hoping you can help. Cheers

      Yeah it’s a pain :) How far have you got and I’ll see what I can do to clarify. Sorry it wasn’t clearer in the video.

    Hello my brother, I am watching your channel the last weeks. You're doing a fantastic job.
    I have an RX 8 Cosmo,2005 model and I want to swap the engine. I saw what you have done and I am very excited for this.
    I need info form you in order to make the swap. The only concern that I have is the traction control,do we have option for this?
    I am living in Athens Greece.

      Thanks! Good luck with your swap. I understand you can keep traction control if you retain the Mazda ECU but I didn’t go this route. I kept it simple and cut out everything like that.

    What exhaust header flanges are them? Did you make them or were they pre made with the flexible part on them already?

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  2 года назад

      Pre-made, Borla from V8Roadsters. Checkout the exhaust guide video on the channel for details :)

    Also my rx8 is a 24x not a 58x,I just need to know what to do to get gauges to work,I love the stock cluster,and really don’t want to go digital dash

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  Год назад

      The cluster commander I used (came from V8roadsters) connects to the GM ECU via CAN. It sounds like you have that bit sorted out so it shouldn’t matter if it’s a 24x or 58x for the dash.
      Here are the instructions for the converter that sits between the ECU and the dash.

    Can you send me a link for the cluster commander,I love the swap but just tired of driving with laptop to keep eye on vitals,thank you

    Any idea what flow rate the flow restrictor you used from flyin Miata had?

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  2 года назад

      Well that's a shame, it looks like they might have stopped selling them? I don't have any idea I'm afraid but here is a link to the original page: web.archive.org/web/20210619145604/www.flyinmiata.com/default/cts-v-adaptor-restrictor.html
      Not much info there :(

    Do you have any opinion on shifter rod type from Sikky? Looks like 4 options.

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  Год назад

      When I bought mine there were only 2 options. I wanted it stock so went with the one that matched.

    How much it cost the swap? Not including car and engine.

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  2 года назад +1

      Great question, that would take a lot to work out as it's all the small things that rack up quickly and push the budget up! I want to guess that I likely have $15K-$20K into it.

    With this setup does the traction control work?

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  Год назад

      No, you would need to retain the Mazda ECU I believe for that. Also I ditched the ABS to make life easier.

    How did u wire the fuel pump? I'm having trouble with that my friend 😭 any help would be much appreciated

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  2 года назад

      I hijacked the relay output from the Mazda fuel pump relay (in the fuse box) and wired it directly to the GM relay. What wiring loom are you using?

    Would it be plug and play with a automatic rx8

    • @FindingSeconds
      @FindingSeconds  2 года назад

      Hey Russel, thanks for watching. Which part are you asking about being plug and play? You would be replacing the transmission regardless of if it started out as a manual or auto. I’m not familiar enough with the auto electronics on these but I didn’t use the RX-8 ECU so all of that went.

      @@FindingSeconds I have a ls engine from 1996 camaro and I was wanting to know if getting all the gages to work will be plug and play like the engine is going in the mazda rx8

    • @FindingSeconds

      I used the cluster commander (openhoonage.com/cluster-commander/6-rx8-cluster-commander) that connects to the ECU to read speed, temperature and RPM etc. I guess the only thing that would be missing is the selected transmission gear (D, N, R etc). Are you starting with an Auto RX-8? I’m not familiar with the dash on those to know if they show something like that?
      For the trans though you will need a custom driveshaft. The kits almost always assume a T-56 manual box (it varies so check). You also have to make sure when the engine is mounted that the shifter lines up with the hole in the body of the RX-8. I would imagine that the transmission needs a speed signal from the chassis for the reverse lock out. Hopefully it is similar to the T-56!
      I have seen auto conversions in the FB group so you might want to check there or on the RX8club forum.
