Guys I think you missed the point or rather Piaget did. The Polo S is a reinvention of the Emperador which has the exact same case shape. They should of made the connection better as a reinvention because they are great watches for the price. IMO they look better than the Aquanaut. But people say they are a copy which is not correct. Both PF and Piaget had similar watches before with the Emperador : Aquanaut when no one really cared. Now they do because the PF is unreachable for most. So I applaud Piaget for saying we did it to and it’s pretty damn good ! They just need to make the connection back so people realise it’s not a quick copy to catch up.
I went to a high end boutique in Houston and saw Lange, VC, GS, Rolex. The Polo S blue dial was one of the best looking watches I saw all day. I may be in the minority but I could give af about what a watch “represents”. I just want it to look awesome to me.

Was never a fan of the octofinissimo, don’t like the case, just doesn’t do it for me. The brownish/burgundy lacquer dial octo roma is just so clean and beautiful, you have to see it in person to fully appreciate that lacquer dial. Would be nice if it had the micro rotor movement
Re: the kids watches. I have a Swatch x Hodinkee all white watch that I believeee came with the blue and white children's flik flak swatch that I also purchased with my Swatch. I bought it so I can match with my kid one day!
Some watchmakers have astounding ability but no recognition. Piaget is a great example of one of these. I guess they tend to be super high end so they don't really care about what us oi polloi think.

Hodinkee isn’t influential enough to introduce watches to a whole new world of people. 😂 Nobody outside of watch nerds knows who they are. I got into watches, then heard about Hodinkee. Then I quickly realized they were pretentious douches.
I love the way the polo perpetual looks, and i have heard they really improved the bracelet construction on this model. I really want the watch but.. it's a sports watch with 30m water resistance. I can't make this my go anywhere watch and because of that, i will never buy one.
Piget have to bring aesthetics from last century, this is easy...bring the square shapes, peocisous metals and exotic stone dials...Tiger eye, Lapis Lazuli...i would stablish thar as modern grails
If the story about the clock is true, let the power company know, because the home is not getting the correct time error correction. Or maybe he is using a clock meant for a different country. And Kermit having a large collection of watches with a 300k min price would have been great.
I have to disagree with Michael on the Oris caliber 400 being a "beautiful movement". It is an amazing movement, it is as good, or actually way better, than a company of the size of Oris should come out with. It is nothing short of a technological marvel, but it is by no means beautiful. It is not hand finished, not even machine decorated. It is a great movement, but only if beauty is the one thing you do not look for.
The Polo really is just the worst design in the integrated design sports watch market and it's got no identity. I'd even recommend a Hublot over that. If someone gave me that cheap looking Aquanaut knock-off, I'd sell it for 100 bucks.
Why do you talk about Bulgaria as independent? They are owned by LVMH, so same as Tag Heuer, Zenith, Gerald Gente, Daniel Roth and Hublot. Far from independent.
