  • Even though the forecast for this trip wasn't looking very good, I decided to go anyways. It was only 2 nights and how bad could the weather be? I was so grateful that I had decided to go after all, and had a spectacular time. You just never know what will happen, until you're out there.

    I have camped and filmed but nothing this extensive. I am well aware of how much work it is to film Canoe trips... My.
    Heads off to you... You, my dear are a trooper.❤

    On this exact day, I was in silent lake first time camping in fall. It was great

    OMG! That is SO wet! You can usually walk right out to that dock at the end of the 420 to Daisy! I've never seen it like that!.... well the beaver dam explains it. Those busy beavers!

      @@CamperChristina I haven't been for a few years.. it used to be one of my favourite access points, although I have never stayed on Daisy. Always pushing through to Misty Lake or through Ralph Bice to Queer Lake. Looks like a lovely time!

    This is why I love watching you. Even in crappy weather you find positive things to smile about. Must admit it was pretty nice scenery with the tamaracks.Did not like the sound of that loon though, that was really sad sounding. Looking forward to the next video❤️

    Looking like a good trip in spite of the rain. I did a day trip to Daisy Lake when on my Eagle Lake (Ralph Bice) to Tim River trip a few years ago. Saw a bear on that 55 meter portage. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip.

    I admire your gumption heading out into that wet. It's one thing when it happens when you're already out, but to go out in it is truly tough stuff! So much beauty though, even in the rain.

    • @CamperChristina
      @CamperChristina  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you Karen. I definitely contemplated cancelling this trip several times. Because the temperatures were so decent with the rain and I knew I would have the chance to dry everything before the cold hit, I thought it would be an interesting trip to show with the different temperature ranges, and all of the different types of weather involved. Thanks for the kind words. Cheers

      Honestly, the weather was pretty good considering what I thought it was going to be like. Thankfully, while the rain fell, the temperatures were quite pleasant and I had plenty of time to dry everything before the cold weather came in. The snow was a really nice surprise. Wow sloppy start to your trip to Daisy such pretty portgage's the one with the dock was diffrent. loved how the Tamarack's looked against the green of the conifer's and thier reflection in the lake. Cant say I have ever heard a loon cry like that strange . Nice large protected campsite you found and always a great set up . The compact grill is very cool shall have to find me one that fire sure looked comfy cozy. Nice start to your adventure ..

    Have you thought about getting jeff to rig a mount for your yolk so you can leave it attached inside your canoe when not using it? I’ll dm you an idea from someone from another group

    • @CamperChristina
      @CamperChristina  7 месяцев назад

      Nope. I don’t have any issues with the yoke. I’m not sure why it needs to be attached inside the canoe? I saw that hack a few months ago but couldn’t figure out the purpose? I don’t whitewater. Wouldn’t I just then have to detach it to set it up for portaging and add another 2 steps to every portage? Detaching then reattaching? I just can’t figure out why I would need that for any reason? I hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers

      @dwayneb7440 7 месяцев назад

      @@CamperChristina k just looked awkward for you. I think it was for the same reason, short portages and not using it. Also think maybe there was some whitewater concerns with the original post.
