Well, there is a misconception about brownies, or I guess how some think they should be baked. Some undercook the brownie, thinking that’s how you get them fudge like and chewy and really it’s more about the ingredients and how you put them together. I like a more chewy brownie with a slight fudge than say all fudgy and would never make cake brownies as that’s just cake.
I'm a cake brownie person. My brother makes this, but with a layer of caramel through the middle, it's called a millionaires brownie. Try adding orange flavouring to the base and zest to the brownie. Absolutely delicious 😋

Seeing this has definitely helped me put into perspective how to do this recipe again. My 1st try wasn’t too bad but it came out uneven in the layers & so thick probably because of my pan. I really enjoyed this though. They honestly were really good & the perfect dessert for me personally.

I like the buttermilk ones with cooked frosting. my high school cafeteria used to have them in the early 90s and I would just leave class and go get one. it's really a Texas sheet cake; tender, but also rich. I also love a fudgey brownie, but the cakey ones I just get a craving for and have to make sometimes.
I prefer cakey brownies because fudgy brownies can easily get too rich, and I'd rather have a larger brownie. That said, they should still be super moist and filled with something (chocolate chips, nuts, peanut butter, espresso, whatever!) Oh, also cakey brownies are better at soaking up ice cream. :)
I once put cookie pieces into brownies, it was a big hit. I might do that with the shortbread as well, even though it's also brilliant as a bottom layer. Or both. :)
Someone in middle School came in with the cakeiest brownie and everyone loved it in my class. For a long time I thought liking fudgy brownies was the minority

will do - I got the ice bath idea from Claire Saffitz - before that, I just firmed it back up in the fridge all the way and then nuked it for a few seconds to soften. The ice bath is way better.

You can turn that on Facebook. If you look on the screen you’ll see in the right hand corner it says cc. That should be able to turn it on for you
