- I did a lot of research on bike racks and had found the KAC K2 the best racks for our Lectric XPs. Here's my unboxing review and how to assemble the KAC K2. #lectricbikes #kacbikerack #ebikes #bikeracks
I do youtube videos (albeit an amateur at best) just for fun and the learning experience. I like sharing products that have purchased and videos (aerial or on the ground) from my travels or just around the neighborhood. Most of my time is spent creating designs and promotional videos for our online T-shirt business called The Bad Tuna T-shirt Co, in which we sell island-style tees. So, if you like this video, please give me a like and subscribe to my channel. Or leave me a comment(s) below. Mahalo!

I like that you also showed the original box. Taiwan and model number.
Thanks for this video! I just unboxed my new KAC K2 rack and the damn instructions don’t tell you to pull the lever to get it in proper position. Once I saw you do that, everything else was easy. Thanks again!!
I'm glad it helped. Enjoy your new bike rack.
Well-done. You just sold me a rack, sir.
Thanks. Love these racks so far. Hope u will too.
great video question, I have 2 Rad Rover bikes and one of those is a step through will they work well on this mount?
Never mind just bought the Hollywood rack
Thanks! Looking at the step-thru Rad Rover frame, the hook bracket might not be able to go down that low to secure it. You might want to contact the manufacturer (KAC) for help. ridekac.com/pages/faq
@@johnsdla what made you decide on Hollywood? I’m trying to decide. Hollywood is more expensive but maybe worth it?
@@nanceo6351 Nan the Hollywood rack to me may cost a little more but stable and less tools needed everytime you load. Also each hook comes with its own locking key. And all keys are keyed alike. They have a hitch locking system that does not require any tools for a no wobble rack. Also like that the hooks are on a type of ratchet system and locks in place and done! The straps on the tires are also on a type of ratchet system. And really ties the bike down solid. I have used it 5 times already and love it. Hope this helps! Good luck
@@johnsdla thanks John… the K2 was on sale for $400 so I ordered it. If I don’t love it I will return it for a Hollywood
Did you have a problem with the anti rattle pin on you Tacoma. I also have a Tacoma with a 2 inch receiver the pin is about 1/2 to short I cannot attach the lock
No. That is weird. Could they have sent you the wrong pin size? When screwed in, I have lots of space to install the lock.
@@badtuna73 There customer service not good sent them email no response
@@tedjilek1507 Sorry to hear. I would keep trying. I am just surprised how they could have placed the wrong size pin in the hardware kit.
I had to change the washer to thinner one then it fit
Can you open tailgate with hitch mounted?
Without the bikes loaded on the rack, you can easily open the tailgate when the rack is in a neutral or inclined position. To avoid pinching your hand or fingers, just be careful not to hold the center of the tailgate when you lay it down. There's hardly a gap between the tailgate and the rack's main support frame. It really hurts if you know what I mean....lol!
You didn't show the bikes on the rack :( I'm looking for video showing a bike rack working with a Lectric 2.0 standard and 2.0 step through.
Yeah, I was planning to but I got sidetracked doing other videos and work. But here is a video link of a guy showing how to place two Lectric bikes on the Kac bike rack (the latest design it appears). ruclips.net/video/4TGkGSvQiM4/видео.html. That's basically how I place my Lectric bikes. Hope it helps.
@@badtuna73 Thank you for the link
Im reading some people have had this thing cause their bike to come off on the interstate almost causing major accidents?!😫 My biggest fear ever especially bcuz I have an 70lb ebike.
Not knowing what were the actual causes why the bike fell off personally, it still doesn't sound good. I always make sure my bikes are locked and strapped down securely. I also shake the rack up and down to make sure. There's also a weight capacity of 120lbs (60lbs per bike) on this rack. If people exceed that weight capacity, they are taking a risk.
@@badtuna73 i’m not sure but that’s a good point! I only have 1 eBike that weights 71lbs…If you only have 1 bike, would it throw the balance off somehow whole riding if I loaded the bike on the outside of this instead of the inside? Im a female so it would be a little easier not having to get it on the inside closer to my vehicle..I’ll also be traveling on the interstate myself mostly as well.
@@AB-th4xk it's the max load capacity of the rack. So, you can have two bikes or one bike as long as it does not exceed the max weight of 120lbs. I don't think it matters where the bikes are placed. However, placing a heavy bike close to 120lbs would make more sense to be mounted inside rather than outside . You should be good on the outside with a 71 lbs bike.
