Gokarna is best visited post monsoon because the climate is pleasant. Currently there has been rainfall and floods in the north Karnataka. By August end, i think the situation will settle. You may plan it mid sept onwards.

Hello, for temples you can wear a decent dress. Beaches you can wear shorts, short dresses or anything that's comfortable beach wear. For trek, you can carry good shoes.

How do they charge for activities and tent?

For tent stay - Around 1100 -1200 for one night tent stay / person that included camp fire and a meal for morning/night.
Activities like banana ride and motor boat starts from ~ 500.
