A father who will make a special portion for his child who doesn't like onions shows what kind of person your father is. ❤ That dressing looks amazing.

Hi Kristin! As a Canadian who has never traveled to the Southern states nor had Southern dressing, I just had to try this recipe. While I couldn't find the same brands, I followed the recipe exactly otherwise (including the onions 😉). My goodness, it was absolutely delicious. I served it with some sliced turkey breast, gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Thank-you to you (for making this video) and your Dad (for sharing his recipe) for this amazing dish, I will pass it along to my family members and friends and bring a little of the South to your Northerly neighbours. :)

Aww how sweet of your Dad to come on & share his recipe with your viewers! That was so great! Now you will always have this to look back on! Unfortunately, I lost my Dad 23 years ago & he actually loved my cooking (because I cooked like my mom!). They were married nearly 30 years when my mom up & left him for another man & my Dad never saw it coming. But I never cooked the holiday dressing, my sister does that & she does it from scratch. She lays the bread out to harden up…no mixes or anything. It is so good! But it’s not a cornbread based recipe…this recipe your Dad made looks really yummy! I know what you mean by your Dad leaving ingredients out you don’t like…I get the same treatment! 😊

I use egg in my dressing to hold it together but I like the alternative of using a cream soup. It’s safer for when you have to taste test it. Usually have to test before adding the egg.
