    Like for more instructional videos working on stuff! Its what I do every weekend anyway, so figured I should start sharing it! Thanks for watching.
    This motor is roughly 35 years old and has been extremely reliable. I've been running it for years without any issues.
    Shout out to Hallberg Marine in Wyoming, MN for having P/N: 27-43777 2 in stock!

    Need anti seize for bolt threads and spark plug threads, helps with galvanic corrosion, also dielectric on the plug tips that fit in the wires. Really helps if you go back in there someday.

    These are cylinder liners ,which are not open at top of cylinder,those are not heads,as he calls them ,but cylinder pots which can't be serviced until you tear down block, complete

    Came across this looking to solve my problem. See that 1/4 inch hole next to the # spark plug. Water is coming out of mine. Pee hole works fine. Wondering what it is for and if I should plug it

      That’s the plug for a water pressure gauge.

    also one of the bolts broke off when removing and i destroyed the threads trying to drill it out so im waiting on the tap kit to re-tap the threads. they were 11mm bolts so i ordered 11 and 12mm taps. hoping i can re-tap it at 11mm but i might have to go larger which means i would have to tap the cover to the same size. will this one larger bolt change the torque specs and how much will it affect it sealing properly? i dont have a torque wrench so just gonna do it by "feel". thank you

      Use a heli coil, go back with the original bolt size. Get a torque wrench. Prior to break down, spray Aero Kroil to back of hole if you can get to it, if head is able to back out a little spray Aero Kroil there and let it sit. "The Oil That Creeps".

      i just did this on my 40 hp merc mariner and one of my bolts coming out. i drilled it but not correctly so now i ordered 11 and 12 mm taps to re tap the threads. waiting for the parts and gasket to arrive.

    hey was your motor spitting water out the exhaust with that blown gasket?

    • @vamosdecaceria
      @vamosdecaceria 3 года назад

      Hi Rob, if that`s the case, it would be the head gasket?

    • @thangknowa2567
      @thangknowa2567 3 года назад

      Usually when this gasket blows, water comes out from around the spark plug, strange enough it's usually #1 (At the top).

    What was the torque specs?

    • @thangknowa2567
      @thangknowa2567 3 года назад

      Mercury manual says 220 inch lbs. for the water cover bolts. Three step torque pattern preferred, hand tight the first go round, progress to 220 in. lbs.
