      @Drivingintelligence I have recently subbed to your channel and love tour mods. I have a 2000 f150 4x4. I will start molding once the ac is fixed. I love the content, by the way. Keep it coming.

    Very nice video. This inspired me to order the Dorman Kit, a 25/32 Drill Bit and the Fuse Piggy Back Wiring kit from Amazon, for my son's 2000 Camry from Amazon for Christmas. February is a brutal cold month! Thank you!

      Awesome! My kit and still working well after a few years, and the high setting is a real rump toaster! I love it...

    I got an unbranded set of these of eBay about a year ago and put them in my 97 f150. The switches on mine are a little different they’re a seven position knob(super adjustable) and they light up separately with the headlights. The pads themselves look the same as far as I can tell.
    I did opt to get seat covers made I really didn’t want to mess with hog rings or the actual seat. So I just put the heaters under the fitted covers
    As far as the heat goes they are hotter than any factory seat warmer I’ve ever sat in.
    Super clean install on yours.

      Thanks for the comment and checking out my channel. I agree 100%, neither of my OEM seat heaters get as hot as this Dorman unit. I really like it, and as I said in the video, it seems like it was designed for my truck.

      I’m looking to do these in my 19 Silverado.I have a set of clazzio seat covers to put over the OEM cloth. Curious to know if you’ve had any issues with the heaters where you have them positioned. Thanks!

    Nice upgrade. I'm glad there was still enough space on your console that it looks good.

      Thanks Brandon, appreciate the comment. I think it looks great. I am probably going to install the unit on the passenger side as well.

    Oh yeah, this is happening. I'm going to be replacing my seats with King Ranch seats as well as putting a King Ranch center console in (Not the Expedition console as i plan on putting in a manual shift transfer case in the future). I may use your idea of putting both pads in the back. My wife's Expo has heated seats and I've fallen in love with them.

      You mean it gets cool enough in Texas to need this?! ;) I love it, it has been seriously cold here lately and this heater really puts out the heat. I am amazed with one little circuit.

      @@DrivingIntelligence on occasion. This past weekend it got down in the 20s. My wife's Expedition actually has heated AND cooled seats. If I could find an aftermarket seat cooler, that would be AWESOME!!!

      To be honest, I am with you... I've thought about pulling cooled seats from a Navigator and installing in my F150, but after doing this mod on my truck, I'll pass for now.

    Hi there, great video! Question - did your truck have a passenger occupancy sensor? Any issue with that isde?

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  Год назад +1

      My truck did not have a sensor to turn off the airbag. This F150 has a keyed switch on the dash. What vehicle do you have?

    Nice! how long did it take?

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  9 месяцев назад +1

      I'm pulling from memory, but I would say it's about a 3 hour project if you stay focused. Depends on how hard it is to get your seat covers off. The wiring is pretty straight forward.

    Hello, do you find the led light especially the red one from the high setting to be too bright at night? Also, do the switch icon itself illuminate?

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  Год назад +1

      The red led is a good brightness for both day and night, the green is hard to see during the day. The switch itself is not illuminated.

      Thanks for the great tutorial and review video and thanks for answering my questions. The link you listed to Amazon seems to not work anymore. Perhaps Dorman has a newer model for the heated seats kit.

    How long about was the installation

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good question, let's add it up: 1) pull seat - 15 minutes, 2) remove OEM seat covers - 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on how they are attached (e.g., hog rings take longer), 3) install heater elements - 10 minutes, 4) re-install seat covers - 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on how attached, 5) properly route wiring & tap into fuse box - 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on install, 6) reinstall seat - 15 minutes... so... about 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours 40 minutes and of course this depends on your skill level. If you have a 10th Gen F150 as shown in this video, should take you less time since I showed how to route the wiring and tap into the fuse box. Sound reasonable?
