Thanks for sharing! I was originally just going to try a sample of their laminate but after a phone call from them, found out they offer 15” punched material I can use with my Gerber Edge. Just got samples, can’t wait to test them. Thanks again!
Hi, I have a question about the thinner substance materials like 2.75 mil and some overlaminates. The very thick overlaminate ULTRACURVE 1500S. Can it go on the thinner printable materials? Because I have tried to put that thick overlaminate onto the 2.75 mil and it won't stick correctly on the surfaces when squeegeed onto the surface. Substance Inc. says it is recommended for thicker overlaminates to go onto thinner printable materials, however, that may be incorrect because when thicker overlaminates are on thinner printable materials, it overlaps the edges of what is intended to stick onto the surface making it come off easily.
I have done smaller jobs with the 2755 and 10 mil lam with not issues other than the cutting part. It has not separated or de-laminated and those pieces go through some abuse... I find the 15 mil lam to hard to work with unless I'm cutting straight edges with a knife and not on the plotter.
Substance Inc. told me that if you use ULTRACURVE 1500S on ICON RS-275 and PM-2755, it won't stick good to surfaces no matter if you use your laminator. ULTRACURVE 1500S is used for the ULTRACURVE Printable Materials such as H1. ICON 3150 is the laminate made for ICON RS-275 and ICON PM-2755@@TheSignGuy
@@coachdonhighdfw I have used the UltraCurve 15mil with the Big Squeegee. The 15 mil takes a lot more pressure but turned out fine, a little "silvering" but went away in a day or so. A warmer day/shop also helps it lay down with less "slivering" and a touch of the heat gun helps too.

It will be your go-to vinyl and laminate, substance service, price and quality has been great for me!
Great video. Can you show us that big squeegee you use to apply the laminate in a video? Thanks
Sure, I'm not pro but can offer some tips that really help.

I found that the higher resolution last to more UV protection. You?
Yes, it puts down more ink
Sounds like a cyan angled nozzle
Nozzles are all good, might need a maintenance station very soon though.
Does the pattern show through the front?
No it does not, at least not that I've seen. Call them up and ask for Dan a see if they will send you a sample.
Do you know if they will cut it to 24" rolls?
Yes, they do cut rolls down. Just call them and ask for Dan!
@@TheSignGuy Awesome, thanks!
Purchased ICON 2755. Did a test print on Canon TM-30 Eco Solvent printer smears to the touch and ink prints looks spotty. Any suggestions
Try s different profile. The oracle 3651 was a good starting point for me on the mutoh
Also sounds like it needs more heat.
Never heard of canon eco solvent printers. Probably it is not eco solvent and that is why it smears.
Can I download your printing Profile?
I use the Oracal 3651 720x720 profile, prints great.
@@TheSignGuy thanks my guy! Have you used their Ultracurve? Can you use big squeegee method on the thicker laminate?

@@TheSignGuy nice how much heat on average?
@@coachdonhighdfw 90-100 or so, sometimes you don't need it depending on your shop and laminate temp.
Out of interest, are you a qualified sign writer?
Not that I know of.
