- Dr. Zakir: As far as smoking is concerned several years before where science hadn't advanced that far, most of the scholars used to say that smoking is Makhrooh based on the Hadith of Muhammad (saws) which is mentioned in
Sahih Bukhari Vol. no. 1 in the Book of Adhan Hadith no. 855 where the Prophet said that
"Anyone who eats garlic or onion, they should stay away from us and stay away from the mosque"
Prophet said that, you know, that don't come to the mosque after having garlic or onion because it gives bad breath. When you are smoking the breath is worse then onion or garlic so based on this Hadith therefore garlic and onion doesn't become haraam, it becomes Makhrooh so based on this Hadith scholars give the Fatwa that smoking is Makhrooh
But now after science has advanced we have come to know that smoking is nothing but it's a slow poisoning. Tobacco in any form whether in smoking cigarettes whether bedi whether tobacco in Huqqa whether chewing tobacco all forms of tobacco contain nicotine and tar and we know its nothing but slow poisoning. That's the reason most of the non-Muslims also, they agree that smoking is Haraam. Not only the Muslim world even the non-Muslims. That's the reason they put a statutory warning on the cigarette packs, they put a statutory warning saying "Cigarette smoking is injurious to health" or in some countries it mentions "General Surgeon's Warning" or "Surgeon General's warning: Smoking is injurious to health".
Salaam , to those that seem as if they are just looking for a reason to break the fast, just break It.. but please don't sit up here and try to discredit the shayks.. i don't like It either..i smoke evryday , but ALLAH IS WORTH MORE THAN ANY KUSH BLUNT.. besides WE have 11 months out a year to do tht. I agree with you. People wanna be God. The scholars are causing more divisions than anybody by half agreeing. There is not a single subject where they all agree. There is bad apples among them and we have no way of knowing who are. Trust Allah! Trust yourself. You know if something is good for you or not. I've heard this idea before about particles (or did he say particulates?) entering. I've learned that we're not to be concerned about specs for example when making wudhu or what spec might be on the place of sajda. What is the source with being concerned about particulates entering the body?
The difference is that when you make wudhu or doing the sajda, you are not attempting to get these particles to go in ; but when you light up your cigarette and smoke it, it don’t come in by accident you have done the action of smoking which you know that it will get these particles in your body. I don’t recall a specific resource but I am talking logically.

I mean look at the difference of how much smoke will enter your body while you smoke a cigarette and the amount that comes from coaking fire. Also, if you avoid lighting fire to kook will you be able to have food? That’s mean it is necessary copaired to smoking which can be avoided while fasting.
@@oberlinio Well it's all about the intention. When smoking we intend for the smoke to be inhaled into our body whereas lighting a fire or particles of water entering our body through the air is unintentional
When I'm sitting next to other people who smoke on ramadan and I smell their cigarette smoke because it's in the air, does it break my fast?

Yes and No, if its just people u smell it on then no. But if u sitting in a car and lock down windows then Yes. Its no problem if they smoke but a window must be openened. Car fhumes are more dangerous for non smokers then tobacco users thats why some people get lung disease and tobacco are immune to it. Because tobacco acts like bacteria killer inside the lungs. It kills the body and lungs but also the harmfull bacteria inside.
U gotta see it like Lemons, When u drink it not concentrated and just a little inside the diet added it be healthy. But if u drink it pure u start choking and get too much acid in the blood.
Be happy u not smoking and people cleaning the air a lill bit for u. But if u dont have open window for fresh air it becomes harmfull.

I am Muslim. I don't worship a false Lord or man god like false Christians. There's No father, no son, no ghost, nor Prophet, Messenger, or man perceived as a god or Lord. That's poly/anti monotheism. The Quran brought back the true words of that Prophet you should not worship. The true Gospel Ch. Maryam, Imran, Maida, and As Saf was that Prophet's only needed come back for all Christians to see. Just read the Quran, and see the real teaching. SubhanALLAH. Alhamdulillah.

@@oberlinio also , that smoke during cooking does not act as an "energy"/"adrenaline" booster . Smoking gives a certain buzz if you know what i mean and most smokers will agree it gives some sort of energy to them after they hit a cigarette .

I disagree. You cant say something is haram unless its its clearly mentioned in the quaran or sahi hadid. Eating too much fat will kill you , Fatty foods are not haram. Scholars cant declare whats haram or halam. Only the prophet (pbuh) and allah declare

Smoking may cause particles to reach the stomach but these chemicals are not nourishing or calorific. Do as much as you possibly can and if you can avoid try. If your an addict like many are then ask for forgiveness and do what yiu ar able. Something is better than nothing. Religious people will say no but no person or system is perfect from what i have seen

We all did, do and will do that. We're in the real word, it's full of either stress or boredom, fatigue, anger and hunger on a regular basis no matter the situation or reason, so seductions don't help: munchies sitting there. That's fine as long as we know we did wrong, remain hopeful, and strive to stop it (that's why we pray, so that "We 1) worship you and 2) we're dependent on you/we're in ever need of your assistance in everything" Fatiha). That's why God is named all forgiving, unlike God (perfect) and angels (God's word alive), humans are created with free will: neither God, nor word of God (not straight up)= imperfection= bound and created of and to make mistakes, Whispering demons don't help either. So we ask forgiveness (God's favourite words) and for guidance to stay away from mistakes and wrong paths( there's billions of them, all wrong and long, and only one right).So God leaves those who leave him (give up: feel no regret or shame in sinning and don't bother asking for forgiveness anymore). Jihad means to fight off evil/strive in Truth or righteousness, the prophet said the greatest and hardest Jihad is against one's own bad desires as it's an ever-lasting, sudden and almost unfair war, you're bound to lose battles, but you should always try to win the war. "Peoples lives don't end when they die, it ends when they lose faith/hope"

And that leads them to alcohol to numb that heart pain, and to pornography/fornication for lust and to club looking for short lived love or weird sites where evil men and women make use of people's "insecurities" (loneliness isn't an insecurity, it's an unmet real need and instinct just like food), but they end up doing all 3 sins in clubs. Music on top boosts all those and a dependency itself; short lived boosts/dependencies/addiction like the first cigarette of the day. And Why all this? Cuz they gave up on God's order: get married as soon as u have a job, 41 or 14 is never too late or early. And cuz they swapped the ever Depended-upon with short lived dependencies and boosters/motivation that wear out as soon as u take them of (like taking off the headset takes off happiness)

Smoking breath is not nearly as bad as garlic or onion breath, or even coffee breath. Zakir is always putting forth flimsy proposition to justify fiq. Also concerning the premise that smoke enters the stomach ergo it is prohibited, then what of incense which is halal during ramadhaan which also enters the stomach? Give us something sound please, we are not children. I would prefer is it was advised to just leave it for it is a contentious matter, anything which seeds doubt it is best to leave rather than these sad analogys which make zero sense.

Smoking has a strong odor in clothes fingers mouth which doesn't go easily and you can smell it when someone lights a cigarette near you only the person who is smoking likes it even if someone who smoked enters your car you can smell the bad odor on them which nobody likes even if the person is a smoker himself

According to Bhagavad Gita there are 3 types of food in this world, food in the mode of goodness, passion and ignorance, and garlic and onion are food in the mode of passion and ignorance. For healthy living a person should eat food in the mode of goodness. garlic, onions smell that is part of the reason.. but actually garlic and onions comes from cow, it might sound stupid and strange but yes it appeared from sacrifice of a cow in the past , the story is found in the Vedas, and cow are highly honor in Islam and other religions but with today misunderstanding Muslims are killing so many cows. Prophet Muhammad he doesn't eat cow.... he knows the story but people in general they are not ready for the highest teaching.
