Emma Fletcher describes Swaffham Prior District Heating Project

Swaffham Prior, near Cambridge, has led the way in the UK, to be the first
village to develop a rural district heat network powered by a mix of air source and ground source heat pumps to heat up to 300 homes. The Swaffham Prior CLT began by creating affordable, community-owned houses, later delivering its district heating scheme.
Hexham now (2024) has a unique opportunity to develop a district heating system for affordable properties to be built on the 6 hectare former middle school site.
