      liz liz My last girlfriend wanted us to share an account and credit card. When I asked her how her credit score was she started getting all defensive and emotional. Put it this way even when the so called 'one' comes around, my philosophy will stay the same. No prenup no marriage. Marriage if put in business terms especially in the 21 century and in western countries is a finical risk for any higher earning spouse especially if it's a man. So if you are gonna tie the knot then make sure you protect your paper. I've seen enough men and some women getting burnt to know not to make the same mistake. Just because you love someone doesn't mean you should put yourself in a foolish situation. I'd rather have my wife to be sign my prenup and know she's not gonna try and grab all my assets if things go wrong than leave it to the family court who will happily screw me over. If she won't sign my prenup then I know it's not meant to be, it's really that simple

    Quite frankly, as a Christian, I don't see anything wrong with Tamera getting a prenup. For the average person, a prenup seems like preparing for divorce but for the rich/famous, in this day and age, people are crazy. In Hollywood, you always find out about someone cheating or going to jail or leaving their spouse for someone else. A prenup protects the parent who will end up with the children and makes sure they're taken care of. Plus, people get NASTY in divorces and TRY to take their ex-spouse's money for revenge and it's terrible. I think it's being smart. And if it's God's will, then you'll never even have to look at it again :)

    • @lookhowshegobbledthat
      @lookhowshegobbledthat 10 лет назад +75

      tb11212 THANK you. I don't understand it when people say they are planning for a divorce. Having health insurance doesn't mean I'm going to get in a car accident on purpose either. And like you said, it can protect the children (including those from previous relationships), it can also keep family property in the family (heirlooms, businesses, inheritances, etc) and protect you from debts. Do what feels comfortable to you, but don't accuse other people of 'planning their divorce'. Those are your insecurities, so keep it to yourself, you know.

After that he didn't work for a bit, even tho she still never denies that he was looking for work non-stop. So she always have been there, and yes that's what marriage is all about. But when he was gon' have money, he made it pretty clear that he ain't sharing and that it wasn't "their" money but "his" .. My mom was hurt, because she never though of her income as only hers.

A man who is secure in himself, as well as his financial status and viability would have no problems with prenups. The prenup not only says that you don't marry him for his money. It also means if you ever divorce him, it's not about money. It's quite a strong message.
    And if you both are decent people and respect each other, none of you will let the other one down if you ever do split.

    • @JIX9ISLER1986
      @JIX9ISLER1986 8 лет назад +9

    • @JIX9ISLER1986
      @JIX9ISLER1986 8 лет назад +9

      ***** If your marriage is defined by government sure its a contract. However government doesn't define marriage God does
      God who created marriage designed it to be one man one woman for one lifetime therefore he designed it as a covenant relationship not defined by if you do this i will do that….
      divorce was never the intention for marriage.
      if marriage is a contract and defined by government then being married to one person is an arbitrary number ….why not be married to 2,3,4,5 people
      if marriage is a contract defined by government then men should marry men and women should be allowed to marry women no problem
      if marriage is a contract then that would explain why 50% of marriages end in divorce…because they aren't marrying ''till death do us part'''
      what they really are doing/saying is …
      ''till death do us part unless you do something that will cause me to opt out''
      Marriage is either defined by God who created it ….or the world who makes rules that will always fail outside of God

    A pre-nup should be void if the marriage is ending because one person is not happy anymore for no reason or because one the partners is not up to the standards they thought the other person would be in years to come. I feel alot , (not all), of people get married to quick before fully/halfway/ect... knowing the other person. Marriage is something special. Not just a spur of the moment thrill.

    • @texan903
      @texan903 6 лет назад +2

      @Rollie55 You're completely right. Asking for a prenup, especially when a person has given you red flags, will tell you your partners true intentions. My ex is a greedy woman who is selfish. In asking for the prenup, I offered to make her sole beneficiary of my retirement plan should she become widowed during our marriage. If we were to divorce, however, she would retain her retirement plan and I would retain mine. She didn't like the idea. This attitude gave me a great deal of insight about her as a person, business partner, lover. Her attitude showed me that she is basically a selfish, jealous, insecure, greedy individual who believes they are entitled to things they had no part in building or earning. No one will look after you like you will for yourself, NO ONE. The only reason a person wouldn't sign a prenup is if they foresee a future divorce and wants to hold your earnings over your head if you fail to behave in the way they direct you to.

A lot of woman won't date a man if he doesn't make as much or more than her because they feel the man will be a freeloader in essence. But when the man has more and wants to protect himself with a prenup most woman get pissed. I don't get it, y'all can protect yourselves by not even TALKING to the man less known marry him, but a man can't do the same. Especially when history shows how woman can literally rape, disrespect and break a man through the court system.

      The same person you marry is not the came person you are divorcing. I've seen this happen many times where one partner thinks they should get everything and the other nothing.
      Prenups are necessary in today's climate when 2/3 of divorces are initiated by Women. And the court majority of the time favors women. This is why many man aren't in a rush to get married.
      Nobody goes into a marriage saying or thinking "Gee I want to get divorced in 9 years" Or thinks "Gee I'll get car insurance because I know I'll have a accident in 12 years"

    SMH, prenups are business contracts, we're not in business, we're married. some people get married so fast without learning who the other person is. we have to be friends first, talk. stop hooking up with people because it's a "good look". some of us evaluate people off the wrong things and allow them to get close. do not settle for less. a prenup is a slap in the face. it's saying after all these years we spent before we got married, i still don't know who you are and i don't trust you.

      M Nite Marriage itself already is a contract, a 'business'. A prenup is just like any other insurance. If you feel uncomfortable talking about securing yourselves (and possibly children or family property... it's NOT just about bitter breakups) with your partner in the case of unforeseeable circumstances, that itself already is a sign of your insecurities. Keep those insecurities to yourself and don't accuse other people of 'planning their divorce'.
