    • @raymondgoubet
      @raymondgoubet 5 месяцев назад

      @@cgaviator Ol tradition! Actually, I wanted to see what I could do with a similar jet, but that has slightly less powerful engines. But the Rafale has an advantage of no dedicated air brake, instead using the controls surfaces in a configuration producing more drag, saving a bit of weight. As air brakes are not used very much, it makes sense to do what they did on the Rafale. New, more powerful engines are possible for the Rafale, but this is for the politicians to decide, and they don't seem keen about it. The video of my flight is on my YT channel.

    Have you ever noticed how the typhoon ‘lurches up’ when the stick comes back. As to say, if you gradually push the stick forward, it really smoothly drifts down, whereas if you really slowly bring the stick back at the same pace, there’s nothing and then nose up 2-3degrees? The Typhoon is indeed more powerful than the Rafale: I reached Mach 0.97 in the climb in the Typhoon, versus only Mach 0.88 in the Rafale M.
    It is interesting to compare the Typhoon and the Rafale. As expected, the Typhoon is more powerful than the Rafale (as in real life), and the dedicated air brake of the Typhoon allows for faster braking.
    In the dive, I reached Mach 1.51.

      Sorry I missed the comment. DCS is better. MSFS is passable. Most realistic is a tough question. Just Flight Hawk or Vulcan.

    Is this Eurofighter programmed with the carefree handling of the real thing, so if you attempt to depart from controlled flight it'll react accordingly?🤔

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  4 месяца назад

      It doesn’t depart, so it’s accurate in that sense. I’m not sure of the specifics of ‘carefree’ as you can mishandle even these digital jets 👍🏻

    • @D0csavage1

      @@cgaviator It was Janes Aviation literature that pointed out that the computers onboard the Eurofighter took a great deal of the workload off the pilot letting him concentrate on a dogfight situation by not requiring him to take his eyes of the ball so to speak. The computer would help the pilot not depart from the flight envelope hence the carefree handling characteristics, I think in situations the aircraft alerts the pilot by voice? That's why I was wondering if this was programmed into this simulated Eurofighter.
      Sorry if it's inaccurate information.

    I try the same thing with my F15E on Dcs but, I took more time to reach 30,000 Ft. In teory F15E have 23,770 lbf of thrust each with Ab Vs 20,000 lbf each with AB only for the EFA 2000. Can you try the same with the F15 of Msfs2020..?

      I try it with a few I think, but it relies on the developers programming of the flight dynamics.

    I did another attempt with the Typhoon in 2 minutes 14 seconds and 769 milliseconds.
    I reached Mach 1.04 in the climb in the Typhoon, and in the dive, I reached Mach 1.58.
    .
    Just to compare, I tried the F-22: I did 2 minutes 10 seconds 868 milliseconds.
    I reached Mach 1.05 in the climb in the F-22, and in the dive, I reached Mach 1.55.

Aviation RUclipsrs haven't beaten my DCS F16 pb since i did this in July 2022 (from the then F16 update), even real F16 pilots.. at the time Top Gun Maverick was released. it is my PB. if you have enjoyed the challenge then at least that is something raymond.
