Brilliant video again, thank you - hugely inspirational, I'll recreate this flight myself. Thanks again! (enjoyed the laughs again too 😁)
Thank you kind sir! Yes - have a go at the routes, they make up the majority of the main routes that you'll find running through the area, they are really good fun... The first one isn't quite as common, but is flown!
Love watching your Hawk videos
I actually live in cockermouth. Love the name
Doesn't the river name Cocker come from a Celtic word meaning "crooked"?
@@tallymouse to be completely honest I do not know my dad will I'll ask him next week but when I do I'll let you know
I live in Ulverston 😊 can't wait for my Crystal Light to arrive.
Beautiful place!
@@tallymouse thanks mate. Subscribed
I like the Hawk… fun to fly in formation too.
The moment you said ' cockermouth' I couldn't stop laughing throughout the rest of the video. 😂😅
It reminds me of Sandy Balls in Hampshire, Bitchfield in Lincolnshire, or Shitterton in Dorset!
@@tallymouse I just shittertoned myself 😅🤣😂
Very informative video. Tks. For a Pimax Crystal and a 4090, the settings in PimaxXr, OpenXR, NVIDIA and MSFS you posted are different than the ones you used for propose for Pimax Light and 4090. At this time, are the settings for the Crystal remain the same, still?
For me, for the OG Crystal, yes - the same. I'm in the process of making an updated 'setup' guide for eye-tracking etc for both DCS and MSFS, especially as they're are a few new tools out there that can help a lot!
Then it'll all start all over again when MSFS2024 comes out! 😂
Fantastic Video again! I might watch this again on my TV just before bed. Did you set the weather or was it real-time accidental?
It was real time weather, I just happened to be flying while there was the first snow-fall of the Winter taking place. It was total dumb-luck! However, I much prefer real-time weather because you can't predict what is coming up in the next valley so it makes it much more fun!
Graphics are way better than X-plane..........
Wow! Really fun video. Thanks for sharing. Are your 3rd person segments actual real world footage of the the Hawk? As good as MSFS scenery is, those scenes seem a little too good.
I wish they would defoliated the trees in winter, but sadly they are summer green all year long. Perhaps we'll see this in MSFS 2024.
Real-world footage from that point in the flight mixed into the virtual flight! Yes, most of the trees in the Lakes and the Dales are Deciduous, with a few 'plantations' of coniferous dotted around (side of Ennerdale Water is a good example) - like you say, the concept of a tree-line appears to be missing from much of the Dales, and the trees are all ever-green... it'd be great to see bare trees in late fall to early Spring!
@@tallymouse Great editing work. I had to pause the video and look really close to spot the differences. Really well done.
His last words really were "Oh, bugger!"?
..actually, they were simply, "oh.." but I thought I'd extrapolate the situation to what he was probably thinking!
..Also, very well spotted! 😂
@@tallymouse Thank you, sir. Also, great editing.
This is amazing. I’ve literally just been flying over Windermere in a typhoon. I went from valley down to Mach loop then went over Liverpool and headed for lakes. Unfortunately went through lakes ran out of fuel and engines turned off.😢Successfully glided 9 miles to Carlisle airport 😂 Can I ask what voice effect your are using? Sounds so realistic.
I have a train of filters I created in Audacity
Nothing more fun than an emergency landing !
4:25 - are you sure the “frozen gauges” are a bug related to video capture? I experienced the same thing when flying the Hawk (which is a fantastic plane in MSFS!) but found that the instruments were simply turned off! If you trigger the large switch just to the left of the right-side red warning lamp (just below the bottom edge of the windscreen at about the “1 o clock position”) you’ll find that the instruments activate and operate normally.
Thanks for the comment/question. They were working for me in sim, but then when I was editing the footage, I realized the mirror window's instruments were frozen.
I've finally fixed it now by moving over to OpenXR capture for OBS Studio, rather than try to 'window capture' a visible mirror. Next vid will not have this issue.
Hi Tallymouse.
Great video but how on earth are you getting achievable framerates in VR using all those ultra settings, including clouds, shadows etc?
I have an RTX 4090, i9-14900K & 64Gb DDR5 RAM with an Pimax Crystal and decided to follow your instructions to the finest detail ... turning off HAGS, prefer max pwr in nVidia settings, checking the Pimax XR box to enable half frames etc, selecting 120 refresh in pi Play ... refreshing OpenXR before going back in and settinf up eye tracking, then changing each MSFS setting to what you show in your video. I basically copied your settings to the book and at the Burning Blue Design's Old warden, in the Tiger Moth, where I usually lock in at 45fps with TAA etc, with your settings here, eye tracking, foveated rendering to custom, DLSS etc, I was getting between 19 and 26 fps, an unplayable stuttering mess & to be honest, I would've been surprised if it was anyhting but.
I'm getting a solid 90fps in DCS in most usual scenarios.
Have you tried the Hawk T1 or the Typhoon. Note that I'm typically at low level, at 10000ft, or at 40000ft. If I fly over London at low level it's a slide-show, and I typically fly out in the countryside. Have you tried the AutoFPS tool to see how that works on your system?
github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS
Can you fly the IOM TT course please?
Great idea! Some of the T-junctions might be 'g-limiting' but the general route of it could be good fun!
Interesting, you run 80% CAS sharpening. Since you are running DLSS Balanced, and have the 4090, running NIS at 20% uses the hardware you paid for and the AI algorithm on your Tensor cores.
I've resorted to running DLAA with NIS 20% and in the country see 50-60fps without DFR on 5800X3D 4090 and Pico 4. so you could certainly reach 50% of 120Hz on Crystal. TAA is too taxing but DLAA, effectively TAA on Tensor Cores, using Nvidia Anti-Aliasing, but no Upscaling, with NIS at 20% for no shimmer. Curious if you've tried that on MSFS. I run 400 TLOD and 200 OLOD in the countryside like Mach loop etc. Currently on World tour in Mk IX spitfire.
Thanks for the info.. i'll give it a go and report back!
What are you saying? run NIS at 100 with 20 Sharpening? I have tired this and the fps is less then CAS 80 while looking worst, i have a 78003dx with 4090 and getting around 60fps in the G2. What i really don't understand is how high both your in game settings are much higher then mine?
@@mplmpl7780 No sure I understand NIS 100 with 20. it has only 1 value % of sharpening. I run 20-30% sharpening. 4090 uses tensor cores to run the NIS algorithm. I run DLAA instead of DLSS. G2 benefited for WMR Tools for OPENXR at 200% and DLSS Quality with FFR Quality Wide Preset. TLOD AND OLOD making the biggest difference, everything else is at ultra. CAS is more demanding than NIS but you cant oversharpen too much. It's been a while since I used my G2. It is a different experience than the Pico 4 even though same res.
What map enhancement mod do you use? My MSFS doesn't look this good. I use MSFS Map Enhancement Mod, but it still doesn't look like this!
No map enhancement mods apart from the world updates.. I just use the stock MSFS
I’m N911RG… friend me and I’ll fly formation with you in the Hawk.
and this for what??... what is the propose?
Lol, I love trolls.
Ok, I'll bite. What the hell are you talking about?????
The propose.. he has it!
You fly: aviate, navigate, communicate.
Then you land, and your girl is waiting.. and you put a ring on it..
@@tallymouse Ah, the waiting girl. Now I see why he was confused ;)
