@@guidorussoheck2100 - I 💯 agree. It’s also incredibly simple. So, it’s not like trying to deconstruct some weird tuning, string missing, neck running riff. I love the song, like pretty much the rest of planet earth.
"I used a very fancy scale called an 'E minor pentatonic' to write this riff, don't want to get too technical for you guys though... watch my fingers, you'll pick it up after approximately 2 bars..."
This is one of my most favorite RUclips videos. I started guitar lessons late last year. Bought an electric guitar to learn some riffs to diversify my playing. This is the first riff I've learned. It really is genius in its simplicity. My 8 year old asks to hear Seven Nation Army all the time now. And this also goes to show how three completely different styles of musicians still admire and respect the craft. Love it!
Truly awesome As Jack White (White Stripes) fan I think Jack is a genius and majorly under rated... But what a compliment... the Edge asking Jack to him and the icon Jimmy Page and we witnessed something magnificent... Jack teaching his (world known) riff and watching the 3 of them jam it out together... That's a Superbowl trophy right there!
I would love to hear Jimmie Page play the whole song. The sound from his guitar is absolutely heavenly. They're all fantastic, but his sound here just grabs me.
Jake White is an artist nut he must have been just freaking out playing with Jimmy Page. Jack gave lesson very in awe of Rock God Pretty awsome to watch
Edge wanted jack to play the riff so that he can copy the riff and learn it😂😂 just like when jack white is also observing edge and jimmi copying their riffs 😂 this movie was like three legends copying each other's riffs😂
yeah especially back in the day people would learn songs by listening to a record over and over trying to copy notes and i think invariably playing the same thing in different ways. So it seems normal to go in there and be like "ohhhhh so that's how you played that."
Im shockd that the lead legend didnt bust out a sick zep style lead over that riff?page is walkn with father time..30 yrs ago he woulda colabd and rippd a sick bluesy melodic lead over that riff and left us all astonishd..well my friends..the memory remains..sharp as ever maybe burnd out on scales and licks..hhahahaha naw hats off to tha greats... Wdsta1
Every guitarists wet dream. Showing Jimmy Page your song and him asking if the way he just played it is right.
You may be cool, but you'll never be "Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White playing Seven Nation Army together in the same room" cool.
Why
The old guy is playing smoke on the water
the coolest!
Real shit haha
Excluding The Edge, yeah
Edge: "Can you show us how it goes?"
White: *Minor breakdown, almost burst into tears of joy* "Ahem, yeah"
"A vampire shows a hobo and Mozart how to play the guitar"
Parrot
LMFAO!!!!
Thanks for making my day with that comment 😂
the greatest description!
HAHAHHAHAH
All that talent and it feels like they’re playing Smoke on the Water at a GuitarCenter
Pipe down and enjoy
lmao, is an amazing riff tho, is dope af.

Page's tone is immaculate.
ggaccentc always!
I heard someone say that riff was just waiting to be unearthed; so simple, so catchy, so primal. Brilliant. I'm glad it was him
yes, there are some songs that sound like they were discovered instead of written
Jack White teaches 7 Nation Army to Jimmy Page. Reminds me of that video High School Boy teaches math to Steven Hawking.
Lmao I found that funny too
Hahahahah
"I used a very fancy scale called an 'E minor pentatonic' to write this riff, don't want to get too technical for you guys though... watch my fingers, you'll pick it up after approximately 2 bars..."
Jimmy “ nice riff “ , I have a few ditties too. Proceeds to play Kashmir
Jack: Just use the major scale
Jimmy: What?
Edge: Is like blues scale without sharp notes
Jimmy: Oh well
You can hear Jimmy Page's experience when he plays.
For all of you saying this riff is an embarrassment to the other two. Even the great jimmy page can appreciate the simplistic genius of this riff
I mean it's not like the main riff to Kashmir that Page showed them is anything difficult, certainly sounds amazing but it aint hard
Music doesn't have to be complicated to be great, a lesson people like Steve Vai still need to learn.
Riffs are simple that's why they are riffs. The thing about them is that they make you wonder why you didn't think of them.
Fair comment.
Woulda been nice if Jimmy riffed on Jack’s riff
Jack's White genius is making the simplest things while coming out original
"Will you show us how it goes?"
Come on Edge, surely you already know.
For the sake of the show.
He wants to know how he played it.
Not sure he did.
It's so cool to see Jack white a guy I don't know and Jimmy page in the same room
when Jimmy P age asks if he got your riff right. bow down!
page still picks it up in 30 seconds
yeah but it's really easy to play
Page will have known how to play it before anyone knew how to play it
Page was more than likely just curious about how he plays it
39 seconds... quite slow for him considering it's such an easy riff...
yeah so does everyone else
Jimmy Page is always intensely into what he is playing.
White: "holy donkeyballs, Page is playing my tunes" the Edge:"What ever"
HAHAHHAHA

Jimmy says 'Is that right?' to Jack.
Jack says 'Ok God, you can take me now'
Mr White is a genius. After the 70's, another god of the guitar.
How does something so simple sound so good together. Man.

So cool, Jack teaching Jimmy Page and Edge a new riff. Miss this stuff so much!!!
I would love to hear Jimmie Page play the whole song. The sound from his guitar is absolutely heavenly. They're all fantastic, but his sound here just grabs me.
That sound when he goes to the chorus is so fucking GOOD, god damn.
amazing. always respect those that came before you.
Three absolute legends playing the same riff. Brilliant
I would love to see them play the full version
Never knew Michio Kaku could play.
Proof that musicians of different ages can all learn off each other.
Tehui1974 not just musicians, basic general teaching skills, I’ve seen a 5 year tell a 70 year old chef how to properly cook a burger
That riff is genius👏
this gave me chills, just think... jimmy page learning YOUR song. just amazing moment
Inside Jack’s mind:” Jimmy Paige is playing my riff in front of me. Don’t explode”
i love jack white`s guitar.
Now that song plays at stadium events.
Chase your dreams boys and girls.
then Jimi Hendrix turns up...
and the edge leaves and frusciante takes his place
@@reggiehammond1420 that's the urban legend for summoning Hendrix.
and plays it backwards with his teeth.
Dream team of guitarists for me would be to add- Mark Knopfler, Clapton and “ Fingers” Feldon
mrs Macca you’re chatting macca.. Claptons feel is dead
Three greatest artist in one room
I could watch this forever.. I think I just might..
jimmy page and jack white are the real rock and roll vetrans
1:28 jimmy is like: "who is this guy" :D
The ground cracks open and Jimi hendrix crawls up with his guitar
Fantastic !
How can you not watch this video and smile?
That is a rockin tune. Imagine having Jimmy Page digging your guitar playing.
So damn cool!! Masters!
God I love Jack White
Jesus Christ...Jimmy came in heavy asf.
guitarristas fenomenos....
Oh to be a fly on the wall!
Masterclass!
Imagine Jimmy Page playing your music... or playing with Jimmy.. or being in the same room with Jimmy... Holy mother of fuck
My brother and I played this for my schools talent show years ago
Jake White is an artist nut he must have been just freaking out playing with Jimmy Page. Jack gave lesson very in awe of Rock God
Pretty awsome to watch
Masters of the craft!
page pensando este "hit" eran mis jams en los 70´s :V
that'll be five dollars
ian asplund I love that! Jack White is actually a very funny guy in interviews.
Edge wanted jack to play the riff so that he can copy the riff and learn it😂😂 just like when jack white is also observing edge and jimmi copying their riffs 😂 this movie was like three legends copying each other's riffs😂

Once Jimmy Page plays your song, it now belongs to him.
Just ask some of the blues artists that "inspired" some of Led Zeppelin's songs.
jack is the beast
The 3 of them playin 7 Nation Army was like a 21 gun salute 😅.. I'll see myself out
Legends!
Jimmy Page.. he’s my hero
This movie would be so good if the edge wasn't in it
Bollocks. All 3 were excellent in this.
oh to have your own song and playing it with legends
This shit is amazing through and through.
Guitar class day 1 - Mary Had A Little Lamb
Guitar class day 2 - This
Page playing Ramble On solo on It Might Get Loud crushes this but it's still good.
Dudes a legend
so Jack White and the Edge cannot believe this! LLOL
Jimmy the Best❤️
You gotta think Jack White is shitting bricks jamming with Jimmy Page and he hits the right peddle at the right moment. 🤯
I’m having a eargasm listing to this
So much negativity in this comment section
Wild Eye wish i could like your comment twice
this is me at 9 teaching my 11 year old friends the song LOL
Brilliant, i wish they would have each tried the others riffs also.

Yo me meo si veo a PAGE tocando una canción mía
JAJAJJAJA
A meeting of minds.
BEEN DAZED AND CONFUSED… Jimmy where is your bow?
*Fuck I got excited!I love these three great guitarists*
Page: I want to make this basic chord much better
Jack: make me look good man
Page: Okay
Who still watch this in 2020
Sera simple, pero hay que hacerlo
Albert Einstein is fuckin rockin out
This is fucking incredible.
The power of an inanely stupid, simple riff. When Page plays it it sounds twice as menacing. Like In My Time of Dying.
I can die watching these 3 in front of me perform.
Swap out White for Johnny Marr and I'd agree.
What's next, Michael Anthony teaches Geezer Butler how to play the Runnin With The Devil bass intro?
1:59 --- OMG! Page me está preguntando algo!!!!
jimmy page looks like mozart
Jimmy paige "is that right"? Awe..man
last great guitar riff
One legendary guitarist, one amazing songwriter................................. and the Edge.
What is Jack's slide made out of?
Yes Jimmy, you got that right. You're a good guitarist. FUCK YES JIMMY COULD PLAY THIS WITH HIS FARTS.
Jack teaching Edge & Page?! Whaaat
sounds like sam ash
bad ass men right here
Such a simple riff but fuck its brilliant!
Is this scene on the deleted ande special features Blu Ray?
+Ricardo Bueno Vargas Yeah it wasn't on the film I watched,
