I feel blessed to live during that time to experience it. He will forever be my hero, his playing touches my soul every time I listen to him.
I consider him good, but hes far from best, he rip off to manny songs, if you steal you make it original than, he didnt, hes maybe good but thats it, without Plant voice and Bonham drumming you get good guitarist with average creativity...Thx to Clapton he become famous, Clapton is god, Iommy is god, Hendricks is allfather, Cobain is god, Ramones guy is god, Page is good and thats it, he was at right place-London-at right time-Clapton separate from Yardbirds and recommended him as best session guitarist. The first time Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck met as teenagers, they played Rumble together. I recently went to a now retired coworker’s house for Thanksgiving. She and I both play guitar. We had never played guitar together before. In fact, she was fairly new at it (been playing for 3 years) and had never played with another person before. I nominated this song as our first to play together because of the Page/Beck story. It was lots of fun!

I had the privilege of seeing Link Wray as the opening act of some headline group I don't remember in the late 70's performing "Rumble" before it was a clip in a Trenton Tarantino movie that was much appreciated by Jimi Page (see the documentary "It Might Get Loud", and ignore "the Edge" of U2 who appears with his superiors including Jack White) when it first came out and affected rock from that moment on.
