First thing, editing, AWESOME...you guys are getting pretty dam good at it TT, especially from ground to air drone coverage by also showing where you are from the air so not only do you see the area at ground level, your giving everyone the overall layout of the camp area from the air too which is brilliant!.👍
Second..Zef, how cute is that kid, all quiet and eyes wide open taking it all in. He's now certified Aussie bush kid...a gunuine little 'Bluey' 😊
Thirdly...Dem, how lucky are you only needing to bring a twin pack of beers for her weekend consumption, her nickname needs to be 'TWIN CAN' or 'Twinny' 😆
Just one last thing, you guys have a Satphone in the vehicle yes? (and maybe next trip might be good idea to bring along a breathalizer for someone😉😁)

I would always whip a hub off and check. So easy to do
I was having same issues in gu but I Chucked a set of factory hubs back in and a set of hub savers on it as well just for a little extra help. Haven’t had a issue since.

100% done the same…I use avm hubs…still break them but not often and yes you want that as weak point and have spares
mate, 60,odd,, had avm hubs,, we had to saw them off as the cone screws were rusted in.. there garbage.. warn is what you want, or a yank 4x4.. built right..[ not jeep ], unless its a pre 80,s.

Fantastic video, looks like a fun time
never mind mate. my attempt on jeep track didnt end the best either. clogged up the radiator and fan at the bottom in the mud. got not far before you and my car was spewing coolant. cooled it down, drove up the road to a river to top up on water. we had to get back to devonport and stopped a dozen times to the temp hitting red and boiling over. we were filling up bottles from cow troughs, rivers and dams.
eventually got home and i thought that my engine was done. took radiator out, cleaned it and replaced fan and she has been running perfect ever since. that was 2 years ago. looking forward to giving it another crack for sure.

I wonder if you could get steel collar tight fit around those Chinese hubs before they break. Obviously wonderful to make them a little stronger probably can’t fit the wheel on then.

Maybe should get a oztent rv5 and a decent blow up mattress, lower profile on the roof and in bad weather can go inside and chill out or let the little one play, sleep etc.

Yeah I've done the same with those hubs
So unusual (& unlucky for you) to break both front locking hubs at the same time. 🤔 But it could be a blessing in disguise, as you could have damaged something much more expensive or terminal if you continued on that track.
That is what I said when you bought the GU "for the family". & were talking about another vehicle. That you should buy a matching single cab GU & give the old man the Navara

I recon they both broke at the same time cause the front locker was in. The second the weaker one of the two broke, all the drive load went to the other and it failed instantly as well. Whereas if the locker wasn't in, the snapped hub side would just free spin. That's my theory anyway (currently a mechanic). I do like your theory of having the Chinese hubs as the weak point though. It's like a drive train saver. Be good if you could get some middle range sort of hubs. So they're a bit stronger than those ones, but still the weak point if everything gets over loaded
Have you tried the retainer/ strengthening rings to help strengthen them?
I have some on, Chinese hubs are the issue
Some expensive wheeling, would be for me anyways.
Luckily you have a capable 'machanic' with you.....

get warn or mile marker hubs..or 2 dana 60 diffs.. never ever sht a hub..
So here's the question for Tyler and all Nissan owners -- would you chance going anywhere without a guy like Tim as part of the convoy ! ! ??? You seem to spend more time fixing the Nissan than driving it - - -😅😂🤪
I go everywhere solo. I have the skills to fix pretty much anything but in 12 years of GQ life, I've never had to use those skills on the tracks. Tyler's is breaking in part because of what he's doing with it & in part because it's a tired driveline

toyotas use nissan diffs, steering boxes,,the chinese hubs broke..as they do..toyotas lost the plot between the 60 & 80 series,,then went all yupi.. your buying a badge,,not a 4x4.. i dont drive jap sht,,or jeeps..
