Not too long ago, Nike's President or CEO (I forget the title) recently switched from long time OG Mark Parker to the previous top don of eBay. So in addition to the Rona locking everything down, he's coming from the angle of being entirely online and I think this is a trickled-down symptom of that. He's restructuring the internal leadership of the company by dropping out a lot of people at all levels and merging people's roles, so that probably affected a lot of relationships and I'm thinking they may make more of a focus on free online marketing than endorsement deals. Nike do need to inject some excitement into football boots though, because it seems like their market share could slip if other brands are getting extra busy with product and marketing.
I don't necessarily think that it's a case of him not liking the Phantom GT, he's just out of contract with Nike, so he has no reason to wear their latest boots. He's only stuck with the Venoms because that was the last boot he was wearing before his contract with Nike ended. Many players like the familiarity of playing in the same boots and only switching when they "have to".
I miss the old hypervenoms. I feel like nike boots are just becoming tok bland, remember a few years ago there were so many different styles of mercurials, hypervenoms, tiempos etc. Now there are barely any variations. I think i might buy the 2016-18 orange and green hypervenims as my next boots

If he's ending his deal with Nike, he might have just worn the Puma trainers because he needed some non Nike shoes and City had some Puma trainers lying around
We all know the big reason why many are leaving Nike. It doesn’t have all that much to do with the boots themselves, but more to do with WHERE and HOW these shoes are made.

I know what you mean. Nike's boots have the lowest quality I've seen from any major brand. On my high school soccer team, 3 different people had Nikes that melted while they were playing. We played in a hot climate during the summer, but that's ridiculous. I mean it was definitely below 100 degrees F outside, probably around 90. There's no way any company of Nike's standing should be making shoes that melt under relatively normal conditions like these. I mean it's one thing if they melt in an oven, but on a field in temperatures that are pretty normal in large parts of the world? No way. Never buying Nikes again after seeing that.

Nike have great marketing and money behind them. Personally (as I'm a bit older than most who watch this channel) I remember their late 1980's and early 1990's models, which were really stiff, heavy and poor quality even compared to some of the budget brands out there, like the now defunct Arrow and Quaser (they did have higher level offerings but usually were found at cheaper price points). Then came the original Tiempo and they got that one so right, players were even stitching their sponsor brands over the top of a pair of Tiempo. Really quilted round the ankle and the lather was great, but I wasn't swapping out my Diadora Brasil for a pair of them. I have tried the newer boots in recent years and only really liked the CTR Maestri, because the last of most Nike boots just felt off somehow, either way too narrow or too much the other way. Ultimately, Nike strip mining Umbro, after taking them over, for their kit contracts really turned me off them as a brand. Nike will look to pick up the next crop of young players and sign them to cheaper contracts, to offset the major deals they've done in the past.
Custom boots q's: 1. Do women pros wear custom fit boots? 2. Are all/most pros wearing custom fit boots? 3. How low a level do pros wear customs? Are Championship and second league guys wearing customs?
Nike was always not #1 to me, the logo carries the company and the colorways, but when it comes to high tech making cleats and etc adidas and puma take over that.
Can someone please inform these players that Paul Scholes once wore a 40 bucks boots and completed the match with a 97% completion pass rate having not played a professional match in 6 months?
I think lewangoalski would have more impact than neymar does to be honest he is scoring more and people is looking at him constantly and i think is so good thess big athletes are taking the monopoly away from nike and adidas and at the end of the day it generates a more competitive industry which benefits us consumers not only in prices but also quality
New phantom are thinner in the foot than mercurial. So you basically have 2 types of mercurial. They need to reintroduce the phantom venom. My son played in 2 pairs over 2 seasons and I searched hard to find another pair ot the old version for this coming season as his feet grow. The new gt's are not suitable
I think they are directing their focus to basketball since the shoes are turning more and more into lifestyle sneakers which at the end of the day is way more marketable especially considering the whole hype around deadstock shoes. Idk how exactly the whole thing with Jordan Brand works but since they are still affiliated with Nike they definetly will get their share. Therefore they have the biggest rising and established superstars of the fastet growing sport atm like Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant and LeBron James (just to name a few) whilst still having goats like Ronaldo, Tiger Woods and Nadal in other sports which definetly makes up for losing guys like Neymar and Lewi. And that is not even mentioning collaborating with Travis Scott, Virgil Ablo and Jay Balvin for example
To be honest I don't think that the reason is the effect of the shoes that made famous players switching from Nike to Puma but it's all about Marketing and advertising strategies
I got lost on the sterling changes bc i swear he was changing to puma a while ago and then reports said he was switching to adidas but then i saw him wearing a pair of phantom venoms a couple weeks ago
I don’t know why Diadora doesn’t get more recognition. I honestly think it’s the most comfortable of all. They’re not as stylish, but to me comfort during a long and hard game means a lot more than appearance.
Money could be a factor. Ronaldo & mBappe are face of Nike. Or it has to do with latest Nike line. Neymar was never a fan of the sole plate and Lewy loves his PhantomVenom. BTW, I have several of that shirt. So comfortable and HTF.
Nike has all the best young upcoming players up their list Kylian Mbappe Erling Haaland Jadon Sancho Ansu Fati Dayot Upamecano Nicolo Zaniolo Frenkie De Jong Fede Valverde Vinicius Jr They really are grabbing all the Top future talents now under their umbrella. They don't need contract renewals of older players.

Nike will look to pick up the next crop of young players and sign them to cheaper contracts, to offset the major deals they've done in the past.
I've done the change myslf... Nike Phantom elite to Puma One 20.1
Saw bukayo saka wearing new balance as well
love your vids!
Joma aint paying me enough. I am going to expose them, THEY ARE COPYING THE MERCURIALS.
Custom boots q's:
1. Do women pros wear custom fit boots?
2. Are all/most pros wearing custom fit boots?
3. How low a level do pros wear customs? Are Championship and second league guys wearing customs?
Not everyone
Instead of giving sancho boots they need to start getting Lewandowski his own his been really good for the past 6 years makes no sense
Levendoski is 32. The kids growing up & abd getting into football want to follow Sancho
I mean puma is comfortable
I think lewangoalski would have more impact than neymar does to be honest he is scoring more and people is looking at him constantly and i think is so good thess big athletes are taking the monopoly away from nike and adidas and at the end of the day it generates a more competitive industry which benefits us consumers not only in prices but also quality
Not even close Neymar is a global Icon and especially in brazil and south America.
😂
It’s a good thing because hopefully it makes actually competition in the soccer cleat world
And for new balance, they also signed young arsenal player Bukayo Saka!
I from nike to puma user.. my puma boots is puma future 5.1.
Hey man hope you are well!
Dear nike , bring back the magista and hypervenom please and thank you
New phantom are thinner in the foot than mercurial. So you basically have 2 types of mercurial.
They need to reintroduce the phantom venom.
My son played in 2 pairs over 2 seasons and I searched hard to find another pair ot the old version for this coming season as his feet grow.
The new gt's are not suitable
What are those orange Nike boots in the top right. Used to have them but can’t remember 😭
Could you please review the rugby Adidas boots pls. Ik it’s rugby but want a good review on them
I think they are directing their focus to basketball since the shoes are turning more and more into lifestyle sneakers which at the end of the day is way more marketable especially considering the whole hype around deadstock shoes.
Nike are behind in the market atm discontinuing good boot lines and not releasing enough classic boot remakes
To be honest I don't think that the reason is the effect of the shoes that made famous players switching from Nike to Puma but it's all about Marketing and advertising strategies
Thiago is wearing the Phantom Venom aswell
Martial also 👀 don’t think sterling is new balance though
Hopefully the price for puma boots remains relatively affordable in the future
Wasn’t that long ago it said Sterling signed a 10yr deal with PUMA
I got lost on the sterling changes bc i swear he was changing to puma a while ago and then reports said he was switching to adidas but then i saw him wearing a pair of phantom venoms a couple weeks ago
What is happening with Le Coq Sportif boots?????
I don’t know why Diadora doesn’t get more recognition. I honestly think it’s the most comfortable of all. They’re not as stylish, but to me comfort during a long and hard game means a lot more than appearance.
Money could be a factor. Ronaldo & mBappe are face of Nike. Or it has to do with latest Nike line. Neymar was never a fan of the sole plate and Lewy loves his PhantomVenom. BTW, I have several of that shirt. So comfortable and HTF.
Feel like the new phantom's were made in 2010, but just released now
It's all about the money
My nigga
Nike need to re release more remakes of their early 2000s stuff cause their new modern boots suck
I’ll tell u why my adida blue and white Messi shoes 2011 to this day is in good condition but when I bought Nike the shoes tore 2 weeks later
Nike has all the best young upcoming players up their list
Kylian Mbappe
Erling Haaland
Jadon Sancho
Ansu Fati
Dayot Upamecano
Nicolo Zaniolo
Frenkie De Jong
Fede Valverde
Vinicius Jr
They really are grabbing all the Top future talents now under their umbrella. They don't need contract renewals of older players.
One day I’ll be of them
None of them will sell boots quite like Ronaldo did
ADDIDAS & PUMA ARE THE ORIGINAL BOOT MAKERS FOR FOOTBALLERS. NIKE USED TO BE SPIKES FOR TRACK ATHLETES OR ANKLE HIGH FOR BASKETBALL
adidas is just chilling while nike keeps bringing nike soccer cleats thats just to silly 😂😎
