    Weird argument but I simply do not like Nike's colorway designs lately. Adidas has been knocking it out of the park with designs and coloring options lately

    To Nikes credit, they have been consistent in offering actual AG stud patterns pretty consistently. Honestly, that’s the only reason that I buy Nike stuff. If Adidas released a better AG stud pattern or if Mizuno put an AG stud pattern on all their boots, I’d probably get something from them.

    • @alessiodimatteo1042
      @alessiodimatteo1042 15 часов назад +1

      Try diadora Brasil elite 2tech, the stud pattern is amazing for ag (good conical studs), flat sole-plate (rather than Mercurials angular soleplate) and italian leather

      Mizunos FG plate is neutral enough to safely play on AG and FG. Especially AG as with the conical studs

    I’ve grown up always having Nike boots that feeling when I got the first magistas was amazing and around that time with the mercurials there was no competing with them but as of the last 5 years they have been disappointing.
    I’m not surprised as it seems they are shifting away from football as they aren’t sponsoring as many teams or players anymore

    I feel like Nike pulled in so much of the market with the tiempo line, only to go from the Tiempo legend 9 to the current 10.... Felt like so many people switched brands especially to Mizuno. Cant go wrong with Mizuno since their k-leather boots are unmatched, and their synthetic Alpha could be argued to be better than all other synthethic boots on the market when they dont really specialize in synethic boots...

    Honestly, you could make this video about Adidas or Puma right now and it wouldn't be too far off the same Doom and Gloom feel.
    Nike's boots currently are good-great same as the other big three and They'll continue to sell insanely well simply because their Nike and the quality is there (at least enough to keep the reputation afloat). And when'/if the sales slow down they will do what these companies always do and make some changes or introduce some new boots and tech and people will lose their minds.

  • @marcogiles30

    What happened is that these past 2 years a lot of “special edition” colorways and remakes were a success and in high demand. A lot of resellers bought and even got to profit from the high demand. So Nike and Adidas kept producing and resellers kept eating it up thinking demand was going to be the same. Even if it’s not the same, these resellers still bought a lot of stock and ultimately, that’s what these companies care about.

    For cutting costs (that includes the Mercs being the Vapors with a collar) and increasing sales (no kangaroo leather so they can sell boots in Cal) Nike are kind of shooting themselves in the foot (or in the boot lol). Tiempo line was awesome and now nobody buys it. They had a fantastic idea with the Premier and now is on the same downward trajectory of the Tiempo. The competition is getting challenging for the Mercs/Vapors, with the Mizuno Alpha, Sokito, NB, Sketchers added to the usual Adidas and Puma. Adidas boots were very bad a few years ago, they listened and upgraded all their boots on offer to meet customers requests. They even keep the Copa Mundial on offer that is the most sought after boots for 30+ yo players. Nike does not listen: they are greedy and they think marketing is all it takes for the boots to be sold. Well, maybe not anymore.

    YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE what happened to me with the PREMIER IV's in Spain 🇪🇦:
    I went to my usual store, where I also buy online, and they were right there, without even been announced, so I was really shocked. I thought that could be because of lack of hype.
    Anyway, I tried them: really awesome synthetic leather, pretty bulky tongue, but over all a great product. I didn't buy them because they cost 120€, and I only buy on sale.
    3 weeks after I returned to the store and they were no more. Never been announced on their website 🤔

    I’d reckon that Nike boots right now just don’t fit right at least from my experience, their boots have awkward shapes to them that kills the comfort.
    I’ve played in the GX2 so that experience is what I can comment on the most but it’s awkward shape and overly grippy material made it hard to get used to them and ultimately enjoy them. I also tried the Tiempos countless times and found them to fit super tight, really pointy and overall not comfortable in any way.
    I just think Nike should aim to make their boots fit a bit more anatomically it will help them feel more comfortable.
    Also I like that their AG boots are widely available and you can find them in most places… so I can credit them there, but yea the shape of their boots is not ideal especially for me.

  • @gethealthy7413
    @gethealthy7413 2 часа назад +1

    The Tiempo legend 10 is a downgrade TBH, the fit is much narrower, as tge series was a favorite amongst wide footers, now even if you get a lager size you'll find that the toebox is a pointy triangle with extra space that is a deal breaker for most

  • @chanchaniceman

    The problems with Nike when it comes to football is interesting. I say at the moment is case of trying too innovative and wanting to be too tech forward then on the flip side they’re a brand that seemingly don’t wanna embrace their glorious past. Also the competition has very much catch up in their respective category meaning there’s an option for everyone. Nike easily has an amazing period during the the early-mid 2010s even amazing in the late 2010s up to 2020..

    One thing Nike does have going for them is how they offer a good AG soleplate on the takedown models with their AG-Pro soleplate and it pains me that Adidas don't follow suit. Mizuno AG, Puma MG, New Balance AG, Nike AG-Pro, all the other big brands have good soleplates for 3G/4G pitches and Adidas just don't care enough for that market it seems. And whilst they have released the Copa Icon II's in FG/AG I just can't look at them and feel confident that I won't have issues otherwise I would've absolutely bought a pair already as they seem to have everything I want in a boot.
    (I know Adidas has MG soleplates in some models but most don't, one especially glaring omission is the F50 Messi)

    Hey Josh! I just recently bought the Adidas Copa Icon 2, but unfortunately, they fit a half size to big. They’re pinching me through the midfoot and the toe box feels to lose for my liking.
    I have the Nike phantom gx2 elite AG and to be quite honest, they have been the best boot I’ve worn in the past years. Since I play competitively, I need new boots for the new season and was wondering what would you recommend. A new Phantom Luna gx2 or Mercurial Vapor 16?
    I love trying new boots and always tend to switch up every new boot I get. The mercurials are a boot I haven’t had since 2014, and the new sole plate in it self convinces me to pick them, but as a overall decision, what would you pick? Thanks Josh! Long time subscriber and supporter!!

    For Nike, there hasn't been an "iconic" boot for a very very long time. It's more of the design more than the color way that speaks out to me, and none of them stands out. Maybe it's the gripknit it just looks so boring and once it gets dirty it literally looks like a dirty sock.
