OMFG THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE ORIGINAL MIX!!! I can't stand the remix with the wimpy guitar tone and polished sound. It's torture to listen to! Never understood why the hell they did that?? I have the original vinyl but not a lot of good that does nowadays on my iPod or on my computer. Anyways...this record fuckin RULES!!!! Listen to the guitar roar! The whole band is mixed perfect here and raw AF. Every song is a true NYHC classic. Doesn't matter that Reagan's been out of office for 30 years, these songs still rock, still have a great message/warning and is a testament to American hardcore across the board. So great to hear this and see it on RUclips. This truly represents the band in their early era perfectly. Total classic. "RED, WHITE AND BLUE IS ALL YOU SEE...BUT DOES IT MEAN YOU'RE REALLY FREE???" Fuckin aye! RIP DAVE INSURGENT.
Seen Reagan youth when I was 14 at the all ages,They Ripped the doors off with their greatness...what great memories...happy to know I was part of this great movement!!!
@MiElas Very cool, nice to know there are purists in the retro punk movement in this time, makes me know the message is still there, this new horrendous SLC style so called punk that the youth are listening to is ruining the old scene...you young guys should be turning from it and taking a lesson from the old gate keepers like us guys that created this hardcore movement...keep up the faith.
this album is so cool. My band was supposed to play with them in Utah. but they got to the gig late said they got lost. We gave them some money anyway to make it to Las Vegas where we are from.
vol 1 & 2 were regulars in my collection, and yes we rolled joints on the vol. 1 gatefold. saw them live in 87' 88'? in NY was freakin' awesome. Still one of my fav's to this day & always!!!
Discovered this band a few months ago, I can now put them on my list of favorite vintage hardcore punk bands, right along side Black Flag, Bad Brains, and Minor Threat
I wanna know more about the rampage. In my mind I'm picturing someone in a shaved head and leather jacket throwing food at unsuspecting people and tipping over giant shelves
I was about 5 years behind this as I will be turning 50 next year. While I never actually saw them play I did meet Dave. Unfortunately he did a few weeks after. I think it was back in 89 or 90. Tragic.
First time I heard these guys was on the International P.E.A.C.E. R Radical benefit LP and I was hooked. Love Vol. II as well. One Holy Bible and Brave New World are epics. House Of God was a powerhouse too!! Nowadays, sadly the bands artwork is perplexing and misunderstood by the unimaginative or understanding.
My first record. Purchased in the mall of Marshall Texas at Hasting's music. $7.00 Money from mowing lawns. This album changed my life and landed me in Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital for 99 days, when my mother found it in my hiding spot, Wrapped in a hefty bag under the front porch, along with various other albums and tapes. (Butthole surfer, Suicidal Tendencies, the cure, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Styx and Wasp).
Insect warfare from Texas was one of those bands for teenage me. Stooges, black flag, RATM, worm rot. Put my push lawnmower that leaked in the back of my $700 Hyundai car that also leaked and get cutting. My mothers boyfriends were ones who ended up sent to hospital/rehab/jail though.
I never heard this mix of this. Sounds great even on my phone speakers. As someone else said "what the hell were they thinking" with the weak remix. Need to Track this one down on vinyl
I think they really only had one album. They put out a few but it’s the exact same songs on all of them. But I’ll definitely agree. The Sex Pistols weren’t half as good and around for like 10 months…. And they’re a name even people not into punk know. Never understood that. I think the pistols suck a big donkey dick
Glad to see you used the original mix instead of the New Red Archive version. Why Nicky Garrett took out the laugh track fromAre You Happy still puzzles me. I actually got to see the original line up in 1987 with Dave Insurgent. (RIP) A great pece of punk history, and one of the few bands from the New Yawk scene I actually like. Thanks for posting and sharing this historical punk classic!
It’s funny what a difference even just the “1-2-1-2-3-4” that Dave says at the beginning of the band’s title track compared to the Collection of Pop Classics one.
I had this 12" ep back in the day. While the tinny sound is not what I recall from back in the day, the power of the lyrical output is clearly beyond what the production was back then - and sadly, too prescient.

OMG. In the middle of playing this, just at the start of "I Hate Hate", an ad interrupted the stream inviting me to take a survey of whether I approved of Donald Trump.
They were from Forrest Hills in NYC. Slightly before my time. Great early Hardcore band. But like most of these bands Thier political opinions were ridiculous. Unfortunately I never got to see them.
Awesome 80's Hardcore Punk. I'm not saying I'm PUNK though. In fact, I'm over hate music. I have always been too Alternative, Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, Indie, and New Wave to fit into the mold. I'm just me, I've never been into negative stereotypes for music or PUNK scenes, I'm so glad Left and Right Wing Punk and Hardcore is over with. In fact, I wear a Sid is Dead t-shirt sometimes with Prada shoes. I'm so NOT into hate. I'm also Vegan, that's so unPunk and completely not considered Left or Right Wing enough to fit into the scene constraints of PUNK. I'm a poser. I'm into Punk Rock though. Again, I don't hate Reagan Youth. I just think they're kind of weird, sort of like Bad Religion, really. I like the music, I just don't really have a clue what it all means and I don't care.
@@Engineeringuncovered Right. You missed the point, bud. Hardcore doesn't like Commies or Nazis. Both of you start out as Left Wing zombies until you get in power to shift things Right. I'm not saying Hardcore is Right Wing, but we don't like your politics that spread hate into Punk Rock. If anything, American Punk Rock is mildly Conservative and Progressive. It's Democratic and Republican, not Left or Right Wing Anarchist Socialism and Communism. Punk Rock is Commercial Anarchist Capitalism. Left and Right Wing has nothing to do with it really.
They are who they are. I don't personally like the far Right imagery they used, but I think it's a joke to make fun of Right and Left Wing punks, skinheads, and hippies who took them too seriously.
LOL im as 'center right' as you can get, and have loved this music since the early eighties. Yes, some of the lyrics are pretty left-wing, but i'm only into the music. Going to gigs in the mid-eighties was like putting your fingers into an electrical socket.

This is awesome. Love the drumming style...
yes drum is genial
It's very bouncy. Like his limbs are relaxed instead of tight
One of the best albums ever made

That is amazing, I would have loved to see them back in the day! Thanks for sharing, what a great memory!
Still just as relevant as it was when it first came out.
Sadly so.
this album is so cool. My band was supposed to play with them in Utah. but they got to the gig late said they got lost. We gave them some money anyway to make it to Las Vegas where we are from.
Wow thats the coolest story ever.

Absolute love! Grinded it in the late 90s!
Saw em in '86-'88(?) in Baltimore, I'm thinking with Agnostic Front. I want peace and anarchy!
Like Seattle,Portland,Michigan's antifa Bullshit? "Punx r fucking sheep".no critical thought ,just whats acceptable to the herd.
Damn, fantastic. I haven't heard this in more than twenty years, but I must have listened to it several hundred times in the eighties.
havent heard this since high school so glad 2 have found it again! REAGAN YOUTH FOREVER!
One of the first hardcore records I listened to. A huge classic and scarily relevant.
ok
You have a Crass logo in your pic you realise they're anarchists and anti-racist?
+downwiththemaster nice troll
fuck you
+downwiththemaster no fuck you.
Oooh yeah, THE RIGHT MIX!
Thanks!
i once had an dream in which i went on rampage in a huge supermarket and the song "usa" came out the speakers....i woke up laughing
I’m gonna do that

One of the most underrated bands from the era.
a true legend of punk rock, and what a destiny the singer had, so tragic but also beautiful in its absence of compromises.

One of the first NYC hardcore bands I saw. 1985 probably at a CBGB's hardcore matinee. The lyrics were prophetic in many ways.
I like this mix!
Yes! I miss the old mix! It doesn't sound right on Spottyfy.
It’s funny what a difference even just the “1-2-1-2-3-4” that Dave says at the beginning of the band’s title track compared to the Collection of Pop Classics one.
