    Good stuff here! I just got my 55-250 the other day and have had some fun with it. It seems like a really nice lens on my 7D Mk II, 20D, and even my 20-year-old 300D. Between this and the 24-105 I've fallen in love with it, it goes to show you don't need to spend 4 figures to get a decent lens!

      Hey Shravan! I have the latest version of this lens and when the lens is set to autofocus, the focus ring does not move when the camera aquires focus. If I set the the lens to manual focus, I can use the focus ring to manually get focus. Hope that answers your question.

      @@shravansoul on my copy, if the lens is set to autofocus then the camera does the focusing for both video and photo mode. Turning the focus ring when the lens is set to autofocus did not change the focus for me. I primarily use the lens in autofocus mode. When I switch my camera (80d) to video mode, I use the live view screen on the back of the camera and touch what I want to focus on and the camera tracks the subject using canon's dual pixel auto focus. When I use this lens for for photos I use the optical view finder and select my focus point. Does that answer your question?

      Hey Cosmin Danes 👋! I think these were jpgs. I used little to no processing on these photos. If the photo looked a little washed out, I'd add some contrast using the color curves adjustment to match the other photos in the collection. There's no color adjustments or sharpness or anything else added. I also have a custom color profile in camera I use. It's the standard canon color profile but I back the contrast off 2 clicks. Hope this answers your question.

    What's the best mode for this lens If you're trying photography? I tried AV but it turns my screen camera off and the word BUSY appears everytime i push the button.. Any help is much appreciated sir..

    • @iamToddNorris
      @iamToddNorris  2 года назад

      Hey YOURSHOW 👋. What camera do you have? Different canon cameras have different buttons and dials. If you're just starting out I'd recommend the automatic mode. It's usually listed as "auto" on the dial. On the back of the camera there is another button that has a toggle button around it. The toggle switches between video and photo modes. In video mode the push button in the center starts and stops video recording. In photo mode it starts and stops live view. Live view allows you to use the back screen to take the picture instead of using the view finder where you put your eye up to the camera. Again, it depends on what model canon camera you're using. Hope this helps.

    • @iamToddNorris
      @iamToddNorris  2 года назад

      @@motoporn9055 you're welcome. The M50 is a little different. Everything is on the dial on top of the camera. Should be an "auto" option. I'd start out with that. Not sure why it's saying "busy". Usually this means the camera is busy writing data to the memory card. On the M50, if I've got the camera set to shoot continuous, meaning when I hold the shutter button down it just keeps takin pictures until I release the button, sometimes the buffer fills up and I have to wait until all the pictures are written to the memory card. I normally don't use that shooting mode unless I'm taking photos of subjects that are moving fast, like sports or kids or quick moving animals. You can change this setting using the on screen icons or in the on screen menu section. It's called "drive mode" .

    • @iamToddNorris
      @iamToddNorris  4 года назад

      Hey Richa 👋. Blurry images can come from the following situations: 1. The camera is moving or the subject is moving and your shutter speed is too slow. 2. Autofocus is turned off on the lens so it's not locking on focus (should beep on half press shutter button). 3. Possible bad lens from production issues and/or calibration.
      Take your camera and lens outside in bright sunshine and put it on a tripod or sit it on a stationary object. Put your Camera in auto mode ("a" on the mode dial). Make sure the autofocus lens switch is on. Take a picture and see if it still blurry. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes. Cheers 🍻!

      Hey suarairham 👋. I only used the 55-250mm. I would zoom in and get as close as I could to meet the minimum focusing distance and lock focus. No filters, no other lenses, no attachments, no macro tubes, just my 80d and the 55-250mm lens.

      @@suarairham not sure how long it will be cause I'm a couple of videos behind as it is. So let me give you the steps you can try right now.
      1. Get 6 feet ( 2 meters) from your subject.
      2. Zoom in to 250mm.
      3. While looking through the viewfinder, start moving slowly towards your subject. With each step, halfway press the shutter button. You should hear a beep letting you know the camera has locked focus. Eventually you'll get too close and the camera will not beep on the half press. That means you've gone past the minimum focusing distance. Back a little away from your subject until you hear the beep again on half press.
      4. Frame your shot and take the picture.
      I used a single point focusing type and I shot these in Av mode (aperture priority) with the aperture wide open.
      Also make sure you have good light. This lens needs a lot of light for clean images.
      Hope this helps. 👍

The focus point or points (depending on you focus type settings) will change from red to green in the viewfinder. No beep, no shot. Hope this make sense.
