I'm gonna try this collar out. Got a stubborn shepherd that howls when I leave to go to work. I've tried everything! Putting a radio on, a shirt in jer cage that smells like me, toys, etc. She has gotten so bad now my other dog started doing it. Neighbors are mad AF. Will update on if collar worked or not.
Hi! same problem, any luck with this one? the one I bought (cheaper) goes off when my dog shakes and not allways when she barks so- not sending the right signals- maybe if I buy a more expensive one, those problems wont be there.
@@smiletheproblemsaway soooo unfortunately no it didn't work perfectly. Tried on lowest setting. Made her whine between loud noises but kept carrying on. Tried a level higher. Same thing. Tried a level higher, yelped this time. It stopped the louder noises but now my dog just whines loudly instead. It didn't really work the way I would have hoped. It may work for more intelligent dogs but mine is kind of....stubborn? Slow? Maybe both? It for sure zapped when she made a loud noise but it didn't really stop her behavior. I don't think its the collars fault. I'm looking into other options. However I tried it on my real barky dog and he stopped barking. Success with him or so I thought. He started tearing apart his crate instead, to the point he chipped his tooth. Can't have that. Vet put him on anxiety meds and that helped a lot. Separation anxiety is terrible. I'd bring the dog with me if I could but work obviously won't allow it. I tried everything you have heard of to help him Including blankets, toys, noise, etc. He wasn't having it. Vet says a lot of dogs developed severe anxiety after covid since everyone was home. Mine got progressively worse since I worked from home for a while after covid. He's pissed.
@@angrysquirrel8561 T.T Kind of in the same situation- Do you leave your dogs in crates? I leave mine roam the house and she normally behaves ( I had to find a lock to all the doors because she would open them). I just bought some Anti-Bark loudspeakers, let you know how it goes
Maybe just house train him and let him have run of the house during the day. Or an outside kennel. I have full grown hounds that are fully house trained and have full access to the entire house all day.

Hello my boy did great on his off leash training couple years ago. We just purchased this because now our boy barks to much, mostly because of excitement. Good lord beagles are stubborn and remember everything. My hubby and I team truck drivers. We have same route daily. So everyday we end my shift in our terminal. Hunter knows he plays ball AFTER we get done with last hook up. This little ass won’t shut up while daddy outside doing all the hook ups while I am driving, docking trailer pups etc. He knows it’s play time, but doesn’t know he has to wait till we are done. Ughhhhhhhh I know he is so smart, but I’m sure like your beagles the excitement of going hunting is the same for my dog just playing. Lol mean while he can walk with us without his training collar with his commands heal, place, off, etc. He is so good in the truck all day, never barks unless daddy outside and I am in the driver seat. If daddy is sleeping and I leave truck to go into store he just sits in the seat, not a word. Lol wtf this boy is either so smart or so stupid. Lol stop laughing .. anyway if you have TikTok he is on their if you want to see some videos of this crazy blue tick beagle. Hopefully this barking collar works. It hasn’t arrived yet.

Ok purchased SBC R didn't work properly activated when dog shook his head got in touch sent me another straight away. Second collar didn't work at all back in touch got there technology people to speak to me they where brilliant and are now sending me a third collar after reviewing the issues this company is second to none with it's customer service excellent company couldn't do enough to help me

Everything about this collar is amazing EXCEPT!!! level 1 is extremely intense and set my dog into a very traumatic screaming fit! I wish level 1 was less intense like the remote e collar. They really need a vibration level too so the dog can have a warning first and learn :(

I loved the review. Very informative. Thank you! I have seeing some bad reviews in Amazon suggesting my dog's neck could be burnt. Do you know why that is happening to some dogs? Maybe they are not using it correctly? I am wondering if you have some words of caution. Thanks.
I guarantee it's not burning. 99 percent of the time people leave the collar on too long or too tight. It friction rubs sores and holes in the neck. Manufacturer states to never leave on for more than 24 hrs and loose enough to get 2 fingers between collar and neck. Guarantee those complaints are user error.

Lol you'd have to strap it around your neck and bark! Seriously I get what your saying but have no idea how to test it. Possibly hold it in your hand while standing beside a barking dog. I don't really understand your vibration part of the question.
I started with the cheaper dog bark collars and they worked but were not very durable. I finally decided to break down and get durable well made one. This is the one I purchased. But I hate to say but it has been the only one that hasn't worked yet. I don't know if I just got a defective one but I can't get my dog to respond like the other ones. Is there a way to test this unit?
Jason Andrews Hey bud im not sure if there is a way of testing it. First off is it charged, are the probes screwed in and tight. How loose are you putting it on your dog? Also which mode and setting are you using it on. If non of these trouble shooting questions help here is the number to customer service. SportDog Brand has excellent service and will make this right for you.

I have tried all modes. Battery good. I have tried loose as well as tight collar. I have the long probs as well. I really think I have a defective one. A lot of good reviews for this collar so that is why I bought it. I will give the number a call. I think this one is defective. Thanks for the reply.

Yep!.. this thing works almost with instant results. I wouldn’t buy anything. Had a big German shepherd that like to lay in the middle of the yard at middle at night and just bark at nothing. I wouldn’t use anything else.

@daveschreiber9587 I've not heard that. I've hit myself on half way up and it was like a muscle spasm. Every dog is different though
how long do the batteries last? After mine kept barking even with it on, ive charged it but it seems to have just stopped working all of a sudden, and it says batt is good, and contacts are clean and touching neck. 5 nights in a row now it has had no affect. have had for several months

Hey, nice review. I just bought this, and I'm not 100% if its functioning. The collar doesnt light up or make a noise when the dog barks/receives a correction? shes only barked a couple times since I've put the collar on her. I just want to know that it works. Is there any indication besides the dogs reaction, that it is in-fact functioning?

If she seems to quiet down it is probably working. Did yours come with a tester. Some models do some dont
I don't see any reaction from my dogs. I have one dog that is very sensitive and I know she would react. Can I do something to feel this on myself? I read about running on a rough piece of wood and look for the light. Does the SBC-R model have a light that turns on when shocking? THank you!
Honestly I can't remember but it should of came with a tester. Is your dog still barking when wearing it? You may also need the longer prongs if your dog has course or long hair. Additional prongs should of been supplied with it or could be purchased separately if needed thru sportdog
What would you recommend for a dog who whines into a bark? My dog outsmarted the collar and will whine under the detection. The only times the collar corrects is once he's up real high, real aroused and barking from his build up.
You need a Ecolab. Its a correction collar that only stimulates when you mash a button on a remote. You hear him start whining, tell him no, and stimulate on low then progress in stimulate levels as needed. Check out SportDOG BRAND website they make several models.

I Bought one of these and i still can't get my dog to stop barking. I even shaved his neck to make sure the probes are touching. I licked my thumb and put it on the leads and barked like crazy at it and no shock. I wonder if i have a dud?
Make sure the prongs are tight when screwed I'm. If so I'd contact sportdog customer service

dean t. Hard to say, i have two pups that are about 5 months old. Ones a male and ones a female. I have both of these on them and when they wimper it corrects him i guess cause hes got a deeper tone but it doesnt correct her unless she barks

Have you tested the waterproof ability for this collar? My dogs are excitable / barking around water and my last SportDog SBC-10R collars failed due to water intrusion. I'm wondering if I should replace them with these or another brand?

My (lab) dog is depressed and doesn’t play around when she has on her bark collar. Does she ever get back her normal fun personality while wearing it, or will she stay depressed?
I would think it would get better ive never experienced that before but maybe leave it off of her more than not

Place the prongs on a table and drag them across to vibrate them, if the light comes on it should be working

@@Gigachadly the size isn't the issue. The stubbornness is the concern. I've not seen a dog that it hasn't worked on but I've not seen every dog. It's $100 gamble. Worst case scenario it doesn't work and you sell it used for $75 a couple weeks later.

I got a dog that never shuts up and I got one these and he still don't shut up. Don't work on my dog
That dog has other issues. May not be fixable
@@NITELIFEKENNEL I took that one back amd got the dogtra ys600 and now he shuts up. So yeah it was the collar.
Which setting did you have it set on? How tight was it? Which length prongs did you have installed? Several things that factor into them.
@@NITELIFEKENNEL I have 14 dogs. They curs and hounds. They have short hair. I have quit a few bark collars from cheap ones that work to these 100 dollar ones. I used all the settings. Must of been broke out of the box. Cuz this dogtra one works great and I only have it on 1.
