installing new headlights in the truck. we have here spyder headlights with the angle eye halos and led running lights. we show you how we wired them up to make it easy to convert back to the 05 headlight that was in. how to do the 05 conversion headlight is coming soon! I will show you in that video how much of the header panel to cut to make the 05-07 headlights fit perfect.

Those headlights look really good! I have the same ones, but in chrome on my Excursion, leaning towards the black housings now though 👍

I didn't have a good shot and wanted to get the video up but look for another video showing how they look and how to do the 05 conversion hopefully wed
I've watched 3 or 4 videos more than once before attempting this install. It seems pretty straight forward to me. One you locate the constant power wire for your park/signal lamps attach the power wire from the LED/Halos to the positive and the black wire to the negative ground. The other connectors are plug and play. After doing this, the DRLs are not working. They work with the headlights turned on but not as DLRs. Please advise on where I could have went wrong.
First I would double check everything. I would check voltage to the wire hooked up to your halos with just your running lights on. When you turn your running lights on do does the factory bulb come on just not that halos and leds?
@@six0bros The factory lights come on. Basically, when I turn the lights on manually everything lights up. When I leave it in auto, only the projector lamp comes on. I'm assuming that's DRL mode.
When I get my truck back from getting the built transmission in I'll have to check how mine is. But I believe everything works with auto or just turning them on. I am not sure why it works one way and not another

6.0 Bros I was just thinking. Every video says to tap into the parking light. But the parking light doesn’t come on with daytime running lights. How the Leds/Halos get power?

Not sure on the 06 since this is an 04. I don't have access to a newer truck either. I would get a volt meter and check it

You can make them fit. We have a video showing how much to cut out to make them fit. I believe it's called 05 headlight conversion

Got it figured out. When I put the quick connector on, the ground wire fell out and I barley caught the tip of it so was messing everything up. Will definitely follow over there though. Have two 6.0s.

How is the light output compared to the stocks?
Seems to be pretty good all in all now it is just cheap bulbs. I will be upgrading to better bulbs. The bulbs that come with it are just cheap ones so I'll be fixing that

Jim Shorts the intake is awesome. Running my ultimate X tune it can get hot but it's really meant for the track. I am going to be doing full reviews if my tunes coming shortly. I'll probably do my first review with my ultimate X tune for a weekend upload it early next week

Will do. I’m on the fence of getting new bulbs or just taking them out completely and putting the ‘05’s in I have ... I’m disappointed in their lack of brightness for sure. It won’t be until about April before I get into it. Have some other projects to finish up first. Then my 2000 F250 V10 goes up on blocks for a month or so!👍
Not happy with mine. They look hella cool! But aren’t near bright enough. Gonna swap them back out for ‘05 headlights
I do wanna say when I switched to my hid kit it got much better. But the original ones were not good.now I do know they are not the best projectors on the market. Someone sells a replacement kit to upgrade the projector in them.

I really like the style, goes well with the body lines. But disappointed that they aren’t brighter. Need to be able to see! I’ll look for that kit ... thanks!👍 I do have a housing set of ‘05’s to put in if I can’t get those headlights to perform better uuuhhhggg
@@Fordgroup00 the 05 headlights do look really good though. I have considered retro fitting a pair to run a projector in it. Apparently the one company makes an easy retro fit kit for them. Well for any headlight housing. Or I may do that in my 2015 not sure

wouldn't it have been easier to buy a 05--07 headlight core support and change it out then there wouldn't have been any cutting
Well if I switched to the whole 05 front end then yes. For just headlights no. There are other differences besides the headlights. The bumper sits different the grille is longer.

The newer ones are direct plug and play which is super nice
@@six0bros I was watching the older videos was trying to pay ppl to put them in today I said the hell with it u done it before Whats wrong with u so I did it and found out I just needed to take my side marker light out and plug the light ring harness right in that spot

I’m just curious if the lights are any better. Can’t even find pictures online, then all the videos don’t show the before and after and if there any better. They look nice but do they perform???? Did they perform as cheap as they cost? Could be a good reason not to show that.. pretty embarrassing to cut up the headlight pocket for lights that are worse off….
