Heard that Jay was hard to work with sometimes. After his band quit he called them fat, stupid, and said they couldn’t play worth shit. Those two dudes were from a great band called The Barbara’s.
He doesn't seem like the massive asshole everyone made him out to be. Definitely a little cynical, but he seems like a really smart guy. So sad to lose him so early.
He was a bad alcoholic and drug addict. You can be the nicest person on the planet, but until you overcome those demons you'll always be overindulging and turning into someone you're not

A few weeks later he was gone…. I still remember getting the text when I was at work. It sounds lame but I walked out to my car & cried hysterically….

It's seriously heartbreaking to see him just beaming talking about his plans to branch out into indie rock and metal after punk, with the intention of conquering all those genres. Considering his work ethic and talent, along with that ambition I have every confidence him and the reatards would have had every corner of the music industry on LOCK, and they would have had a blast doing it. Tragic.
We are fortunate that we got so much from him in such a short period of time. Dude cranked out music like he was running out of time and it turned out that he did.
