    Mediterranean Sundance is an iconic Latin guitar piece written by Paco De Lucia and Al De Meola. It was a featured track Al De Meola's album Elegant Gypsy. It was later reworked and released by The Guitar Trio which consisted of Al De Meola, Paco De Lucia and John McLaughlin on the live album Friday Night In San Francisco.
    Though it is a duo or trio piece I have made a solo arrangement of the intro which works quite well as a piece in its own right. In a later post I will look at part 2 which is the Rumba part.Blog: www.latinguita...

    Great lesson, it cleared up a lot of things for me I have heard in the intro but wasn’t able to articulate with a pick since I play more with my finger but have more speed with the pick. Would love to see a complete lesson of the whole song.

      Thanks! I might try and look into that at some point, it’s mostly solos i think but it might be fun to look at those.

      That's great, I think you're talking about the Alvarez Bernal. I was in Seville in 2017 and went and visited his shop and walked out with this guitar. How long have you had yours?

    So, Paco de Lucia plays via picado during that really tough part and I’m tryin to figure out how do to it.😅 I know that a pick helps a lot but I would love to learn more about he did it properly. This video though is super hella helpful and thank you so much!

    • @latinguitarmastery
      @latinguitarmastery  2 года назад

      Thanks! i have recently gone back to picado and i can manage, i might do a video on picado speed. Paco’s speed is nuts though. You can nearly think about the 5 notes as 1, like a flourish. the hard thing is playing it consistently.

    Al has partnered with many great players but I've never seen anything with Pat Metheny - these are my two favorite players anyone know why they have not done anything together? I know they both were Berklee alumni... my understanding is Pat was teaching there at age 19.
