    As a professional stylist, I can’t recommend any drugstore products or recommend anyone to do their own hair at home. Professional Stylists have spent thousands of hours of education on the chemicals and techniques used to do hair. So as a licensed professional I do youtube videos for the purpose of sharing new techniques with people who are either in school or work as a stylist. Too many things can go terribly wrong, so as a liability problem I can only recommend to see a stylist who knows how to use the right products and the correct use of them. Thank you.

    You should totally be an instructor. You explain things well. I worked in a salon for 9 years. We never had continuing education aside from going to hair shows a few times and a cutting class I went to on my own. It's so great that you're always learning new things and are willing to share. Thanks!

    You're such a good hairdresser! I wish you were available in Germany.. I've been refusing to go to salons because my hairdressers used to fuck my hair up completely. It never came out the way I wanted it and it was always damaged when they did it, so I started doing my hair on my own and it works well for me.

    I really like how you held the brush vertically and kind of made strokes with the hair dye, rather than just putting basically a stripe across the roots (if that makes sense lol.) I think that ends up looking much more natural and I kinda can't believe I've never thought of it!

    Thanks this is just what I needed- I’ve been working with igora color over 15 years and have just started experimenting with the silver series, but only on naturally gray/white clients to enhance their silver. Have not used it on longer pigmented hair as a fashion tone yet, excited to try it!

  • @SaraWrightsmw
    @SaraWrightsmw 8 лет назад

    This turned out beautifully! You are very right about this being a "VIP color." I don't offer silver at the salon, mainly because it is such an upkeep. I don't live in an area where people would be willing/could afford to come every few weeks for touch ups/toning. I am always honest with my clients and tell them if they aren't going to come in on a scheduled time to maintain a color, I will not do it. If a client is walking around with something I did that 6 weeks later, looks awful, no way will I allow that if I can help it lol I love that your're always honest with the process and show step by step what happens.

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  8 лет назад

      +Sara Wright Exactly. They are ultimately listening to your advice and don't know the maintenance of these fashion shades. I laugh when people say its "easy!"

    • @SaraWrightsmw
      @SaraWrightsmw 8 лет назад

      Yes, for sure not "easy" by any means! Especially silver and cooler shades. And everyone's hair is so different with how it holds color. Fashion colors are quite unpredictable, but so fun!

    FYI, the Igora Absolutes Silverwhite Silver can be used as a permanent and supposedly can be mixed with conditioner or used solo as a direct dye. One thing that is super frustrating about the Absolutes? They have a green undertone that doesn't show up immediately (didn't on me), but does after about a week. Surprise!

    Usually love your stuff. Followed your advice about the Malibu ddl to remove semi permanent color. Worked like a charm in one go through on my plum and fuschia people.. not on the blue but at least it's a mint green now so I'm sure a good bleach and tone will do on those few streaks. But this....mm mm..... the shadow root doesn't blend well at all or fade down enough... 🤐

    wella 050 + wella 4A(cool collection) is on my roots right now but my blue vivid colors will NOT come up. im probably going to have to resort to bleaching the green out because using clear mix + 20vol took it from indigo to a teal/turquoise. i just want to get it out so i can use my new color, from the new brand, IROIRO colors in purple 20

    Hey Alexis! I absolutely love your work! I enjoyed watching this one! I do have a quick question! Torwards then end when your talking about the Color ice and silver toner!you said you mixed both of the 1:1 ratio. And in your final steps you also wrote -shampoo out color
    -*apply silver toner*
    Did you reapply the same one?
    Did you dry it or do it in the sink?
    In air sorry maybe I missed it but I wanted to ask you!

    This was SO damn helpful! I have the same discoloration lines on my roots and this is the exact look I'm going for. I'm in beauty school so I do have some experience to dye hair, but I'm wondering if I can do this in the same order if I'm going to use Igora [9 1/2. 111] rather than the super blondes... Also, I have alopecia (random bald spots on my head), would they be more noticable or does it just depend on the length of my hair? Thank you so much!!

    Is there anyway you can do a demo revolving the hair rinse ? I am a cosmetology student, i had a client and I performed something similar but it was a level 9 blonde and level 4 at the "root" however when i rinsed it the shadowed root bled and the blonde ended up a level ~8 almost 7 the instructors just told me wash it better next time.. Long story short id really appreciate it .. I really love your videos!

    • @w0ntonsarah
      @w0ntonsarah 8 лет назад

      Rinse the foils separately to prevent bleeding. Sometimes that can happen if you're starting with very porous hair.

      @Sheilor_Noir 8 лет назад

      +Sarah Koeppel Thanks ..foils are a must then ? :0

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  8 лет назад +1

      +Sheila Montserrat exactly, and I make sure that if they have longer hair to keep their hair out of the water in the bottom of the bowl. If that means asking a coworker to help me wash it and hold their end I do! If it was a permanent color it shouldn't have done that if you washed in cold water because it takes time to develop. But these things take time to learn and as my school would call it, its a discovery! You learn what not to do ;)

    • @MsNicoleAngela
      @MsNicoleAngela 8 лет назад +2

      MrKiwispirit Rinsing in cold water keeps the color locked up in the cuticle. Hot/warm water will literally melt out the color and fade it a lot faster. Because hot water will open the hair cuticle and release the color formula. I'm sure you wanted her to answer but I'm a licensed cosmetologist as well.

    Hi isn't the wella t14 and 50 already toners? Is the silver toner necessary ? Thanks

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  7 лет назад

      The Wella was used as a toner to prep the hair for a silver color.

      Alexsis Mae would you recommend this same process if I was coloring more than just the roots. I'm doing a sort of ombré sort of highlights and coloring the rest of the hair a darker brown...?

  • @rae4520
    @rae4520 3 года назад

    How does the root color not bleed onto the blonde while rinsing?

      It can actually help slightly overtone the ends. Cool water will help and lifting the ends as much as possible

      It will grab a little but just enough to give the ends extra cool/silver tone.

      I put conditioner on the bleached hair and it prevents the dark from affecting color of the lightened color.

    Alexsis I wanted to ask you your opinion. I'm currently building at a salon in Coronado and I'm not getting many walkins and if I rarely do they are older people because the other stylists have declared it an old people salon. Well I'm only 29 and my clients want new styles. And I'm building clientele so Should I look into another younger salon if I want to target younger people???!!! Help please! 😘😘😘
