No there isn't - but what else can he say? We're 5 senior players down on last summer - been looking for a proper 6 for three years now, have already sold one young player and looking to sell or loan out others - and yet we're definitely not in for any other 6 in this window (despite it being an "opportunistic" window according to Hughes). There is usually a huge grey area in between that most fans would find more acceptable (ie 2-3 signings), no signings is not surprisingly causing a lot of concern for many. The idea that Liverpool are the only club who can't find any players potentially better than they have in Europe's top 6 leagues is laughable.

Indeed. These are the same reasons why Klopp left. Nothing has changed. You can only pull a rabbit out of a hat for so long & that's a stretch in itself. Signs were on Klopp, and it took it's toll on him mentally. Our owners are penny pinchers. Always have been. Stability we have, yes. Competitiveness, in my opinion, has left with Klopp. So now what, we'll see. Time for FSG to leave! Because top four is for the owner's financial. Silverware is for the fan's, and that's money their not willing to part with to compete, because they don't care for silverware.

Liverpool do not buy for the sake of buying if they do not get their target and have operated this way since they where burned with Andy Carroll and Balotelli. I believe Slot sees a quality squad and a healthy crop of academy development players he can work with and he is comfortable! As evidenced by his work at his two previous management jobs he has the ability to recognise and develop young players the club can sell on for large transfer fees, while maintaining the standard of football and competitive edge needed with the first team and collected silverware in the process. This is the model FSG have tried to implement from day one and there is a clear pathway to the first team making Liverpool the preferred destination for many top quality young talents! Liverpool have quietly been taking in young talent and selling on for decent fees the ones who never quite grasped their chances! Multiple deals for £8m/£10m-£20m have been completed for players costing virtually nothing. It remains to be seen if he can apply the same upward trajectory in the PL? Simon, let’s be realistic. We have a new coach who is still getting to know the team. Yes, he’s searching for a player to fill the double pivot role, but let’s not overhype Martin Zubimendi. He’s a talented player who chose to stay loyal to his club and the Basque region by remaining with Real Sociedad-a team that can’t afford to lose more key players. Slot is genuinely impressed with the squad he inherited from Klopp and is satisfied with what he has. He's already addressing the situation by partnering Ryan Gravenberch with Mac Allister as the second pivot, and I wouldn't be surprised if Trent also steps into that role, with Bradley taking over at right back.
Anyone familiar with running a successful business as you are knows that in the first six months of leadership, the priority is to understand the organization inside and out before making major changes or bringing in new recruits. Slot is taking the right approach-you don't buy players just for the sake of buying them. Simon, Slot won’t regret his comments. I don’t understand why mainstream media and social platforms making a big fuss about one signing… Liverpool like many other clubs buy and sell players.. clubs rejected players and vice versa…. Didn’t Messi reject going back to Barcelona for America, didn’t Ronaldo reject going city for Man Utd, didn’t Liverpool reject buying Loic Remy after failed medical…. The team is extremely strong and competitive .. we want quality not quantity…. My main concern is on how the existing players adapt to the new head coach style of football and vice versa ……YNWA 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Jordan being disingenuous as per usual. Klopp inherited a poor squad, only had a net spend of around £30m per season, yet he won every competition bar the EL at least once, made three CL finals, and he also amassed two of the four highest ever points totals. If he hadn't been competing against 'dodgy' state run/funded clubs such as Man City and Real Madrid (Man City found guilty of previous financial wrongdoing + 115, whilst Madrid found guilty of receiving illegal state aid), he'd have at least another two PL titles, and possibly another two CL titles.
If Klopp had those two club's resources, he would have won a lot more, including at least one 'quadruple'. Give Guardiola Klopp's resources and see how much he'd win. His trophy haul would likely be sweet fa.
