@@floppproductions7967 well said. And she just told you? Im a bit confused because it was said that he wasn't fired he just got bias training. Could it be that he just left? When did this happen?
I worked at an AMC as a supervisor.... Even if someone did sneak in we let it slide unless they were disruptive or in someone else's assigned seat. Our policy was The company makes enough and the movies playing anyway the disruption to movie goers who paid wasn't worth kicking out someone else even if they had snuck in.
It was most definitely racial discrimination. Not only did AMC assault the dignity of Mr. Sheldon, they further demonstrated their contempt for him by falsely accusing him of sneaking in through an exit door, refusing to check their cctv, by calling the police and by refusing to refund his money. False accusation, the use of police to intimidate and punitive action by an AMC manager.
Discrimination was normal when I grew up so until now we are doing something about it I wish my mom was here to see ppl standing up and not letting it take over their lives and be afraid of everything and everyone ✨👑💔🙏, she was a victim of a lot of abuse from racist & all I did was fear any confrontation, now I can relax & be myself around positive energies.
So much for innocent until proven guilty...I’ve worked in retail & I would NEVER approach ANYONE suspected of stealing WITHOUT checking the cameras first. I don’t care if it was an employee or a customer that reported it. Ppl need to learn not to hurl accusations around so freely. 🤨
They could have at least refunded them if they were going to refuse him service and pull the "this is private property" line. Sure, you can refuse people service/business at any time, but you're not supposed to take their money, then kick them out even though they paid over false allegations.
Manager has a lot nerve discriminating looking like grunge pot head himself? Hope he won that lawsuit probably would have been prevented if the manager apologized and gave him free movie passes. Can't believe he called the cops over thinking he snuck in the movie🙄
Just saying the movies in 3D, you usually get your glasses from the EMPLOYEES once they see your ticket or stamp it. (This may not be at every AMC but the ones in my area do this!!)
How is what they describe as "unauthorized entry" a safety concern when anybody can buy a ticket and get in without a background check? How does not paying for a ticket become "unsafe"? 🤨🤔 AMC theatres does not provide any kind of safety or security service for its customers, no guards, no bag checks and no metal detectors. Hell a gun man killed a customer in their theatre before and absolutely nothing about security or safety has changed since. Why are they lying pretending this employees behavior was in support of safety? Secondly, explain how you would sneak in through the exit doors when they are locked from the inside and have no handles to pull on even if they were unlocked? They probably put the bathroom near the exit doors and this man came out of the bathroom as staff came around the corner and because of the way he looked they decided he probably just came from the exit. Well they should have let it be. They went through all that trouble disputing a $10 ticket without supportive evidence and now look. Whats 1 man getting away with sitting in on a free movie going to hurt anyway. Pick your battles. Now the entire AMC movie theatre will be subjected to really bad PR.
If I worked at a movie theater and actually did see someone sneak in, I wouldn’t have even said anything. It’s not like that one person sneaking in is gonna put AMC out of business. But the fact that the manages and the supposed employees who snitched lied about it is just disgusting, now they gotta deal with a 100k lawsuit plus ruined reputation. I hope everyone was held accountable
I could see this lawsuit coming when I saw Larry’s original video. Predictable. However, they should have refunded him if they asked him to leave. Maybe gave him free tub of popcorn too.
I used to be a Movie Theater Manager and this is totally unacceptable! I would never boot someone that paid, has a ticker stub, and I mistakenly thought came in the exit. That manager should be fired...well he will be now with a lawsuit caused by him.

A youtuber thinks so as well. Andn idol agree. Bc 1. The cop was quick to take sides even though he didn't say leave yet. He was trying tocsound smart. 2. He should've thought the manager might've made a false report bc the things he said didn't make sense. 3. I saw this one video where McDonalds refused to give a guy his meal or a refund. So he asked this cop outside for help and he did. Bc of him he got his meal.
This happened to me. I showed them the ticket. I worked at a theatre as a teen and I can assure you they don’t have enough staff to check footage on everyone. That’s *why they give you a ticket*
steve71 he actually does have a case they accused him that he snuck in the movie theater without a ticket and he had a ticket that was valid and he went to the bathroom
Brandi Banziger he showed it when they escorted him out they tried to say he came in from the back and he didn’t. He went to the bathroom. He even said check the video tape and they didn’t. That’s the first thing they should had done from the get go! He said check the tape and manager refused to do that! That’s simple!!! Checking videotape on situations makes a difference and it changes everything!
LETS talk about how the cops talked out of "both sides of their MOUTH"! WHEN THEY believed that he sneaked in" they were all for taking him to jail, but once he showed his receipt, they then tried to distance themselves and say" HEY, its a civil matter between you and them"!! WHAT??
When did they say anything about taking him to jail ...never heard that and many times cops are called they show up and yes it's a civil matter and they can't do things.. that happens a lot .
Truly a crime was committed against this patron. However, same same for me, a huwite male, and do I have a chance of winning a discrimination case? I'll give you three guesses. In the last 20 years I've been elbowed out of three jobs because owners knew the EEOC employee who complained about me could win a discrimination case, but I couldn't, so they fired me (or handed so much crap to me that I was forced to quit, didn't want to quit).
He probably refused out of anger until the Police Officers showed up. That is why you’re provided with tickets stubs. Show the damn stubs, and file a complaint afterwards.
Ahh…I know what happened. I used to work in a movie theater years ago. When our theater started offering tickets online it caused all kinds of problems. We had guests just walking in without showing us their ticket. Sometimes they would walk in through the exit. Their thinking was they already paid, so they don’t have to show anything. Arguments would break out all the time. Technically you’re supposed to show your ticket to the front desk when you enter. People also try to sneak into theaters all the time. Part of our job was keeping an eye out for folks trying to get in free. I don’t think dude was trying to go viral. I’m sure he was genuinely embarrassed , but he should have just showed the ticket when the manager asked for it. It sounds like he took it the wrong way when the manager asked if he had a ticket. That’s his job. If his coworkers said the man walked in through the exit, he has to investigate. Telling the manager to check the cameras and then walking away isn’t the right way to handle it. It’s better than spitting on someone. That happened to me one time.
everyone saying that they should have checked the camera's, Not sure about you guys but when I go see a movie and I have to go to the bathroom I always make sure I have my ticket on hand in case someone asks to see it before I go back to the movie. This guy automatically assumed racial profiling and refused to show the ticket... Had he simply shown his ticket to the manager, something he has to verify as part of his job, the manager would have probably apologized and went on his way. But by refusing to show the ticked he literally walked into the manager calling the cops and escorting him out. Literally anyone would have been treated the same and this guy is gonna loose his lawsuit.
Train your Managers to check the tapes instead of making a decision that will make you lose customers and create a negative impact on your community, if not for the community most of these places would be shut down
Those tickets are usually scanned. I don't think one can just buy it online and go directly to the cinema. That said they should have made an effort to scan the ticket. Many cinemas don't even staff to make sure people are paying.

I explained the issue was the guard and that this could have gone so much worse had it escalated more. I absolutely know how this man feels he should sue (it's the only way to get this to stop). And that manager handled this man's situation all wrong and straight up lied! I can't stand people who just can't admit the Fuc**ed up! And for those of you saying he should have just shown his ticked, Well then "everyone" else in that theater should have been made to do the same! See how you like being accused and put through the same thing!
I’d have checked the security cameras before I made a customer uncomfortable.

Now amc is going bankrupt...I love this
If I ever move out to Arizona, I am definitely looking this guy up for a house! Everyone should support him and let big corporations we will not stand for blatant discrimination.

Nice pic. But what about the homeless man dressed like the manager?

I agree with you!
AMC should me saying we’re sorry and we fired the homeless Marylin Manson looking manager and the annoying security guard
That security guard is a joke
I'm never going to amc theaters again... only regal
If you ever work Loss Prevention or handle situations like this for a big company, they always teach you to be 110% sure and have evidence. Or else everything from misconceptions to racial bias can come into play, and you end up embarrassing the entire company over a dumb mistake.
And the best thing to do, is if you don't have evidence, is to SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!
Good for you brother, hit them ehere it counts and their hearts will follow.
Did that manager get fired
I wish.
He did there is a new manager there

Always shine a light on these demons, Sue Sue Sue 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I worked at an AMC as a supervisor.... Even if someone did sneak in we let it slide unless they were disruptive or in someone else's assigned seat. Our policy was The company makes enough and the movies playing anyway the disruption to movie goers who paid wasn't worth kicking out someone else even if they had snuck in.
I like the way you think Peter, good man! 🤗
This is why I always ask for a receipt with my purchases.
It was not. The man should’ve presented his ticket when he was first approached. It is all his fsult
Yeah it was his fault, for standing up for himself.
People like will never get it. What did he do wrong?
@@stevendeas why is it so hard to show the ticket stub. The arrogance of this man then claims to be a victim after the fact.
@@cant-get-right4814 Why did he have to? He did show it and you see how they treated him… where’s your outrage for that??
What about the employee that straight up lied and refused a refund
Most importantly, did he ever get a refund?
Discrimination was normal when I grew up so until now we are doing something about it I wish my mom was here to see ppl standing up and not letting it take over their lives and be afraid of everything and everyone ✨👑💔🙏, she was a victim of a lot of abuse from racist & all I did was fear any confrontation, now I can relax & be myself around positive energies.
Amen. Racism is Dying but we gotta stomp out the flames that remain.
This is a great comment!!
Sure, you can refuse people service/business at any time, but you're not supposed to take their money, then kick them out even though they paid over false allegations.
ohhhhhhhh I'm glad he sued...lol. I'm happy for you my brother. Yessss!
So i'm guessing the manager still works there cause I haven't seen any evidence that says he's been fired.
Manager has a lot nerve discriminating looking like grunge pot head himself? Hope he won that lawsuit probably would have been prevented if the manager apologized and gave him free movie passes. Can't believe he called the cops over thinking he snuck in the movie🙄
What’s his name?
Just saying the movies in 3D, you usually get your glasses from the EMPLOYEES once they see your ticket or stamp it. (This may not be at every AMC but the ones in my area do this!!)
Why do I have a feeling the employees dont like their manager and did this to get him in trouble.
LOL
The fact that in their statement they bring up unauthorized entry and guest safety really shows how tone deaf they are.
Just saw the original video on another channel. Happy to see that he sued them. Pay up!
I'm really happy for this man to standing up against this AMC and employes . Good work mem!
I hope he wins BIGLY!!!!!
Manager should be fired amd he should get money!
I could see this lawsuit coming when I saw Larry’s original video. Predictable. However, they should have refunded him if they asked him to leave. Maybe gave him free tub of popcorn too.
Sad day still no justice or willingness to make it right I will not be using AMC anymore I encourage others to do the same
And for that reason I’m out. No more AMC. The apology was fake. No clear course of action. Manager not fired. Not getting my money.
I can't believe the lead singer of Nickelback works at a movie theater.
Sue big Sir💯👏👏
sooooo....still no refund?
I wish I would have done something about the two state parks where I’ve been discriminated. I’m glad this man is suing.
Empathy.
I used to be a Movie Theater Manager and this is totally unacceptable! I would never boot someone that paid, has a ticker stub, and I mistakenly thought came in the exit. That manager should be fired...well he will be now with a lawsuit caused by him.
He's getting the ultimate win now
So true. Even though its never been said of whether or not he won he most likely he did. Nice pic btw.
The man lied about seeing him come through the exit, deserve everything they get for lying.
I hope he wins!
Nick Paulino How would YOU know that ? You know just as much as the rest of us do . Nothing . There is no such thing that says that online regarding this case . I don’t believe it’s even been settled yet . Smh stop passing on false information.
@@Materialgirl_3 smh too. No need to be rude.
I NEED TO KNOW IF HE WAS FIRED
It's so sad that you can't even go into a movie theater without being accused of somebody saying oh you snuck into the movie like how are you going to sneak in a whole entire group of people like it see if he was with his family and then say oh you sneaked in I mean I condone the video he's by himself but it's like at the same time like you know it doesn't matter like why would you accuse someone without going over anyting and all you do is bring in the cops at the same thing goes for the cops those cops should be fired for just being there and seeing oh you need to leave you don't you can't be here because you know even though you showed us proof that you pay for your taking you got to leave because apparently you're the aggressor and they're not which is bull crap now this is just sad I'm glad he's going to sue them

@@Materialgirl_3 but they should've helped him get his money back. If anything technically cheated him.
@r_ elentless01 cheating is illegal moron. And he made a false report. He easily took sides and should be sued. Should've told him to call corporate. At least when this mcdonalds customer was refused service and a refund a cop helped him. They would've been more professional if they told you have to leave and to call corporate after waiting for a decision.
@r_ elentless01 prolly a racist too.
Bc of him he got his meal.
why didn't they remburse him is money, if they wanted him to leave
This happened to me. I showed them the ticket. I worked at a theatre as a teen and I can assure you they don’t have enough staff to check footage on everyone. That’s *why they give you a ticket*
He even had a ticket stub!!!!! And still kicked him out after police recommended a.k.a. solicited him a trespass
He probably doesn’t have a case. But on the positive side hopefully the bad press will motivate amc to develop a better theatre hopper I d system.
steve71 he actually does have a case they accused him that he snuck in the movie theater without a ticket and he had a ticket that was valid and he went to the bathroom
But how were they supposed to know he had a ticket? He refused to show it until after the police came.
@@williambolden6437 your so right. That's the problem with stupid authority figures.
This year he sued for $100,000.
All they had to do was look at back at the cameras when the guy at the entrance ripped his ticket
LETS talk about how the cops talked out of "both sides of their MOUTH"! WHEN THEY believed that he sneaked in" they were all for taking him to jail, but once he showed his receipt, they then tried to distance themselves and say" HEY, its a civil matter between you and them"!! WHAT??
Uh, I didn’t see that in the video. I saw the manager being an idiot.
When did they say anything about taking him to jail ...never heard that and many times cops are called they show up and yes it's a civil matter and they can't do things.. that happens a lot .
Agreed. They should've thought the manager lied since the things he said didn't make sense which would've been a false report.
I hope this guy wins his case. Don't be a h8er.
So, why haven’t an AMC spokes person give the explanation instead of having the newsman apologize for them! Not much of an apology!
Most rational people would've shown their ticket.
He probably refused out of anger until the Police Officers showed up. That is why you’re provided with tickets stubs. Show the damn stubs, and file a complaint afterwards.
He got an apology but no refund
That happened to me one time.
they must check that clerk if his on drugs
everyone saying that they should have checked the camera's, Not sure about you guys but when I go see a movie and I have to go to the bathroom I always make sure I have my ticket on hand in case someone asks to see it before I go back to the movie.
Not all heroes wear capes... but they buy tickets to watch ones who do 🧐
Yeah I would rather call the cops than check the cameras....
I pray that he gets the justice he deserves.
I’m seeing on google he sued them this year due to statue of limitations but he sued them 2 years ago what I’m confused
I don't go to AMC and won't ever again. Shame on them for discrimination.
You do your thing and sue.
The fact that the man paid probably for 2 tickets with movie theater food, the idiot manager should have left him alone
Yes!! Thank God, get them Larry Shelton
They don't show you what happened lateer
The silver lining to this event is the man thankfully was able to avoid seeing Captain Marvel
Guess it's karma, now AMC and all it's employees are without revenue for almost 2years. I hope it closes shop for good as I think OTT is here to stay
He had every right to sue! The manager should have checked the security tape, and apologized and gave the man free movies for a month and went on.
Glad he put this out for all to see.
Misidentified? You rather disturb me, everyone and a movie bcuz you didn't want to check cameras..... And still be wrong? and continue?
