Oh John, that is a gorgeous arrangement, I love gladdies, every year on my birthday and our wedding anniversary ( six months apart) and for 60 years, my dear late husband would present me with dark red gladioli......brought a tear to my eyes... as always ...thankyou
Omg, John, one of the most stunning arrangements I've ever seen. Pure genius to use the Croton leaves with those glads, as well as the euonymus with that particular vase. I laughed at the end when you still wanted to play with it, I totally understood that - it's hard to know when to stop! What a gift this is, thank you!
This would be stunning on a large fireplace or such. I’m glad to see glads used because they are a beautiful and long lasting flower. My husbands favorite. Thanks for sharing.
There is not one element of this design that I don't like! You've captured the era of that vase with the use of each of those floral elements. My feeling is that you cannot go wrong with glads - they are simply stunning flowers and lend themselves to a multitude of occasions and designs. Well done, Friend. I'm so grateful for your talent and your willingness to share it with us. Here's to your week!
Lovely! I like having the glads go horizontal! They are my Mom's favourite and she often complains that there are "too many." I think the answer might be to turn them sideways! Thanks John!
AMAZING!! I LOVE IT VERY VERY MUCH!! It was smart to group the orange and yellow glads together since you have more shades of pink. Sometimes you do have to use foam and it's ok. As you said before, it's not needed every time.
Thank you 😊 I really adding different colours together - so a real mix, and it works as the flowers are the same type - so those colours could be found together. 🌼🌸🌻🌼🌸🌻
You are always so creative and inspiring, John! A horizontal design with this vase is totally unexpected and it looks spectacular! I love it and all of the different colours. So colourful and cheery! Thank you!
I'm not sure how to say this but I feel bad that the environmental movement has the smallest of consumers having to justify using foam, having internal guilt weighing them down while literally millions of factories burn fossil fuels, pollute the waterways and create endless amounts of toxic byproducts and trash. McDonalds alone, creates a million pounds of waste a day and we should worry about that one time we used one small piece of foam in an attempt to bring a little beauty to our otherwise toxic surroundings. On the other hand, if the Oasis company stopped making floral foam tomorrow how could you similarly create this look without it?
This is the dilemma. There are certain flower designs that are impossible without the use of a foam type base. But we are moving forward and finding alternatives so other industries should learn from the flower industry that change is possible and can be driven by the supplier - not the government or the customer. But you are right - the big big problems are clearly in other industries - drink bottles, and nappies particularly.
Do you have/ will you make a video using a canning jar as a vase? I want to make an arrangement that has more height and depth to it, but only finding round shaped ones. I know they are popular fir American weddings, not sure if that trend is also present across the pong. 😊
Hello! We don’t have any that aren’t round - where would you place the design? I have some jars and they really range in size, so that also creates challenges. 🌼
@FlowerJoos oh, the jar is round, but I have a hard time finding an example in which the flowers aren't arranged in a dome shape. Looking for more of a garden style, I suppose, but am not that well versed in Florist teminology.terminology. Thank you for getting back to us. We love watching your channel and when we were foraging today, my three-year-old said, "like John McDonald".
@@LauraForest ahh, thank you! 😊 foraged materials are ideal - and you can practise how best to put a jar together to get a natural look. It’s just really adding the structural material then varying the stem length of the other flowers - and maybe grouping, to create the look. 😀
When you said, "It's all right. It's nice" I was thinking, it's gorgeous!
Thank you 😊 🌼
Gorgeous...I love it ❤

Ingenious mechanics for a horizontal design in an artsy container! Love the rainbow colors!! What’s the last small white flower you added?
Thank you 😊 the little flower was some September flower - but a rogue one from the garden! It’s very pretty 🌼

Stunning. How long does something like this last?
Thank you 😊 it really depends on the ambient temperature - the warmer it is the less it will last . So 5-7 days would be a good expectation.
Very Beauty and kute.
