Ah, I don't go looking for general fan opinions for this reason. Personally, I think this version of James Kirk is my favorite. He's far more likeable, less full of himself and distasteful around women. I also really like watching La'an, someone who's tightly locked down but not actually impervious. Reminds me of my son.
I prefer a Kirk that does not duplicate Shatner. As with all of the other characters, comparison is off the table. The show can be enjoyed as a unique experience.
I would LOVE IT if you reacted to LD! I’ve said it before - I really enjoy your brain and speedy dry wit and would for sure tune in. That said, reacting is a huge job and a lot of effort so choose your own adventure FOR SURE - but I really hope if LD doesn’t make your upload list that you will go enjoy it like a normie without a camera or even a hat.

to be fair the Cage Pike was also bizarrely uncomfortable with women despite Una being his first officer.
Yeah, I guess it might be hard to make any definitive judgements on him given how little we saw of him.

i watched lower decks and was freaking out about this episode. The best this franchise ever offered imo. Peak Stak Trek for me
