More Apps Blocked by Amazon Firestick Update...

- After a recent Amazon Firestick update, apps were becoming unresponsive and no longer working. This included the TDUK apps and also the Mouse Toggle app. This is due to the recent change in the adb debugging feature and we're not sure if this was intended by Amazon.

Well that explains the mouse toggle. I use a few apps Film+ and Bee TV and a few others that they only really work well or at all with Mouse Toggle vs the Firestick controller. Frustrating when trying to go back, FF or back out of a app etc total bs!
You are correct about the mouse toggle. I had it disabled on 2 sticks.

Yes, this has affected me because I use the Football Live HD app which needs Mouse Toggle. Doc Squiffy has suggested using an OTG cable with an actual mouse, and another RUclipsr has done a video on how to make Mouse Toggle for Fire TV work - you'll need to use an android phone or tablet to do this, and you need to do it each time you restart the firestick.
That explains why my mouse toggle is stuck on " starting " on my 2nd gen cube. Cheers pal.

I had to turn dolby audio off on mine, audio kept jumping on my iptv.. chromecast tv
The best thing I did years ago was to invest in an Nvidia Shield I now have two the 2017 model and the 2019 TV Pro

TDUK's apps stopped workin on 2 of my 3 shields and I find it odd that they quit at the same time the FS did
I’m on cube 2 still have my ADB debugging which is weird as everyone I know hasn’t, where’s your new alternative devices review love your channel m8

I read in a press release Amazon intends to prevent the side loading of third party apps when the new operating system is ready. That's why you see apps missing from the app store.

So far I didn't notice any problems, but I haven't used it in a few days either. I used to prefer Android boxes though and could easily go back to one if Amazon proves unusable. 😮
Watch on those Chinese android devices , I used to use them but never again there full of malware, plenty more brand names without restrictions

I purchased a Onn4k a month ago. I added 4 more. I believe you can only purchase the Onn4k in the states where I am.
I recently tried out the Onn 4K and ended up liking it so much I got two more for the house and giving my firestick away.
I had a friend buy one of those he had me cool kmz2 but the plus he said was terrible sent it back

Any chance you could do a new look into possible replacements for the Firestick, I personally believe this will eventually be way forward as Amazon are only looking to drive customers aware caithness their pig headed attempts to change the way WE use their product.
I'm currently looking at the 4k Chromecast TV box which retails around £60ish and the Nvidia Shield Pro,which is double that at around £140+.
RUclips has loads of videos on the Chromecast and Nvidia, but very little of these are by UK based presenters. Obviously we need to know we can access our normal TV channels- BBC iPlayer etc, hence why I've not been looking at any other Android boxes.
What do you reckon, sorry for the length of the message.

My shield pro cost me £189 new that was with £11 off , just curious where you purchased it from and was it new . In regards to loading stuff and workings it’s a more complex than Amazon device , plus with so many settings on it , an up to date video tutorial would be great ,

The other day I noticed three of my main apps weren’t working and I was checking everything I came to the conclusion that I had to find an updated version and load it in myself without doing so they all stopped working I found the most recent updates for each one and installed while they were in the stick to transfer information all three are now working again I don’t know if that had anything to do with the ADB debugging or not but as of right now things are fine… my apps were not updating at all
I had to go back to my old firestick for the mouse Toggle to work.
I have a fire tv and I connected my nvidia shield to the tv. It keeps cutting off the nvidia shield and tv just randomly. Would this have something to do with the update on the ADB debugging? It works fine on my samsung tv with no problems.
You can still mirtor your device to a firestick making Apps work via your Fone....Not ideal but possible if there is something you want load

yeah bummer toggle mouse not working after update .. it at least let's you get out of ads quicker, with some third party apps you can't always know where point to click is if you can,t highlight on / off.. or end app.. or highlight sub menu.. or page..

I have a fire stick, didnt even think they were still around. I have all those apps on my smart tv working just fine without fire stick. I haven't even used it yet amd its been like 4years. I guess fire stick is still a working service
I was able to get mouse toggle to work. I installed an application called remote adb shell and before entering any application I do a command and it works again. When you turn the fire stick off and on again, you have to do the command again
I like my 4k stick because I can bring it with my on trips. Would love another stick type android is with 4k
The nokia is good, but here in the uk it wont work with uk apps, BBC Iplayer etc.

Got rid of my fire sticks a couple of months ago,so glad I did,now using chromecast with google tv and having no problems,run's smooth,got all the apps I want/need,very happy chappy😁😁😁

has been giving me some slight problems on
the firestick I had removed
all Amazon's own apps
but the Amazon Prime Video app reaperd &
the app from Tech Doctor
I used to remove it no longer works to remove it
when I try to use it it tells me another app is using the shell & to try restating.
Thankfully I have a 2019
Video Shield aswell.
I noticed Amazon Music was no longer on my fire stick so tried to reload it and it just won’t let me. Can’t get it at all, any ideas ?

I keep getting pop ups critically low on storage space and every time I try to get out of it pop straight back up after about three seconds of trying to get it off it puts three apps on there which I use, but it’s saying I’ve never used them and I have got storage to run them but then every time I hit the home button the critical low on storage space Pops back up

Hi there Adam - Does chromecast with Google TV support BBC iPlayer & ITVX ?
This is the final straw for me. Unfortunately there isn't an obvious replacement that provides the same functionality as Fire sticks. The ONN box is a cheap contender but it won't play the main UK streaming apps like itvx, all4 etc. I understand the Chromecast also has some issues in this respect.

doesn't added storage (USB) require ADB Debugging to work? Does this mean we will lose extra storage? I am on OS6 so I am not optimized for this feature...it was not a feature on the earlier OS's . I was considering buying new FS 4K Max devices before Amazon launched the new custom OS devices but at this rate it doesn't look as though any of the android devices will be safe from BIG BROTHER BEZOS!

Downloader is great as I have saved your site and others to help me sideload apks. I use the firestick and also google chrome both are very good for movies. Amazon own the firestick and can do what ever they they like with it.
It personally doesn’t effect me but I mostly use wwe network and thriller tv app on the fire stick 🙂
Mouse toggle is working on android build 6 but not on builds 7&8 bought an OTG cable and plugged my wireless mouse all working

Think that nokia box only 100mbps ethernet port. The new mecool km2 plus deluxe is supposed to be good
Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is my go to box now. Almost perfect, custom menu available, output video is great and USB port is great to add additional internal storage. If it only had 16gb rather than 8gb would be perfect, the extra £50 for the Nokia 8010 is not worth it for the extra 8gb storage when a 128gb USB stick formatted as internal is only £15.
Saying goodbye to Amazon devices, they have ruined it now with ad not running, can't change keyboard so no copy paste for long passwords etc.. The new feature with control looks OK for control but again can't copy and paste into the device you must type on your phone.
And the party is over .... no surprises there. When Amazon started making their remotes with the proprietary streaming buttons, I could see where this was going to end. Luckily ... mine went into a drawer years ago ...... nothing is ever blocked on my android box.

1 major issue with cheap android tv boxes especially from the likes of ebay, amazon and temu is the hardcoded malware which will mine info from network connected devices

Mt techDRUK bloatware stopped working as it says ADB debugging is using it, then it loops.

I think it's in the plans to remove android altogether and use their own operating system which will end sideloading

I've noticed for a while on my Fire Cube can't side load apps, I side load apps on my Fire Cube sometimes they install sometimes they don't install sometimes install but they won't open, I've got Samsung Note 9 Phone I bought from eBay with broken screen plug into Samsung Dex Docking Station also use an 2.4 GHz Air Mouse, I use that for most apps in Dex mode, I've also gone into Developer mode on Samsung Note 9 To force all apps to open in full screen much better much faster than my Fire Cube. I really don't see myself buying new Fire Cube because Amazon keeps blocking apps on Fire Cube & Fire Stick. 👎👎👎👎

Factory reset , then you’d probably have to do a few up dates to get to the current version.
Bought an air mouse from Amazon
Amazon is doing all this to get ready for their new operating system for their fire TVs but the older generation fire TV cube 1 and 2 will not be getting this the third generation yes but if people want to go to other alternative video shield Amazon is also blocking their streaming app video prime they're going to be blocking these services from these Android devices😢
