From my experience, a key to take off the bezel from Kamasu was to use a bezel removal knife from 6 or 12 o'clock position (where end link is). It came off very easily.
I tried to take mine off and i couldn't do it. I have taken off many bezels in the past, but this one is different it seems. Its stuck in there and would not pop out at all. Now the bezel is stuck and would not turn. I might have to take it to a watch place for them to remove it.

I went with the Batman bezel insert. I love this watch now. Thanks for providing this. I used pliers to get the bezel off after I took the insert out. With the insert out I could grip the bezel with pliers and it popped right off.
I got a Kamasu about 2 years ago and was able to pop the bezel off with a plastic pry tool pretty easily to mod the watch with the LIW bezel and a ceramic insert. I just bought a second Kamasu but I can get the bezel to pop off with the same plastic pry tool. I must have been lucky with the first Kamasu as I had the bezel off really quickly. I may try this suggestion and use pliers. That’s a great idea to remove the insert and use pliers to pull it off. I have no need to re-use the stock bezel.

After an epic battle I got the new bezel installed. It's the most difficult to remove bezel I have ever seen. There is a little extra gap right at the 12 and 30 that is machined into the bezel itself. If you look between the lugs and rotate the bezel you should definitely notice it. The new bezel action is awesome. I dropped in a lumed sapphire bezel insert. I will say the insert sticks up about a millimeter higher than the crystal. It may be the insert I'm using. On my Kamasu the original insert was a touch higher than the crystal too.

My click spring broke on my jdm kamasu, thank god the skx spring seems to be exactly the same. I removed mine by putting a load of silicone grease on the edge of the bezel then working it in. Then with an old butter knife that was very thin on the end then sliding it under the 6 o'clock position and it popped off. Took a little cleaning. Problem I have now is that the bezel oring snapped and I have no idea what size it is. Does anyone know the oem size of the oring? I replaced the spring as one of the spring hands broke making it a 60 click watch but with a new spring but no oring it's still 60 clicks. It would be amazing to get oring specs from oreint but Orient USA just said. We don't know. I love my red jdm kamasu it has such a nice fit and a quality feel plus it has some originality I love the Japanese days. Sure the crown is a little small for my liking and the bracelet is not great but now awful. It's my daily driver and does everything I want it too. On wrist its usually +2-3 a day. The only thing that disappoints me about Orient is that you can't buy parts, can't buy a replacement movement or anything other than bracelets and bezels. Orient wants nearly the cost of the watch for a repair or service. I just hope more aftermarket parts come to market and spares available. And hopefully a nh35 day date could be put inb

@@NeonSpud1234 just to give you heads up before you proceed with your operation buddy - I had the same issue with parts for my Ray II that I ordered from LIW (the bezel just would not move) but I used a toothpick and the tiniest drop of cooking oil you can imagine (just soak the very end of a toothpick in it literally for a fraction of a second) and put it on a gasket before you install the bezel and there you you go. My bezel have been working just fine since then and it was almost a year ago I reckon. Good luck!
The insert sits higher than the crystal unfortunately. I've tried a lumed sapphire insert and a lumed ceramic insert and both inserts sit higher than the crystal. The ledge the insert adheres to needs to be machined deeper and there is room to do this but for some reason they did not.
The bezels Marc sells on LIW made for the Ray II/Mako II work on the Mako USA II as well. I know because I’ve bought 2 from Marc that I use on my Mako USA II.
@@billbarhorst8369 It wasn’t too bad. I taped up the lugs and taped up a case back opener knife and it snapped off easily prying between the bezel and the lug at about the 5 o’clock position. If you want to save the stock bezel take it to a watch repair place that probably has actual tools to safely remove the bezel.

@@Steven-pp3yx jeeze it’s been a while and I kinda forget what worked. I think I made a bunch of little shims and just tapped/hammered them in between the case and bezel. Probably had 6 or so all the way areound the bezel. Still will have to really pry it off either way.
Just in case you still have and wear the watch... YN55 😉
Hi watch lovers. I've been wanting to get the Kamasu. However, it does not seem to be an actual dive watch (as I want and actual diver for recreational diving). Would it survive a depth of around 20m-30m? I would appreciate any feedback 😄
Absolutely good enough
This is great!
Any chance of offering the gold version?
Probably not; there isn't a market for it.
@@islandwatch thanks a lot for your response
Esse verde (green) é top demais
Can you ship to germany ?
Oh yeah... thanks Marc.
You bet!
thanks for the tips
Marc and Community,
Anybody know of a source for bezel inserts for the Glycine Sub? I'd sure like to upgrade my stock blue aluminum one to ceramic or possibly shaphire.
Thanks!
Not that I know of
Hi mark, I have recently ordered a sub bezel for my orient ray 2. I managed to get the bezel on but it is really tight and doesn’t turn well unless I get the watch wet, once wet it turns really well, any ideas how to fix this?
maybe lubricate the o-ring?
@@islandwatch Ok thanks, I’ll give this a go with some silicone grease
@@NeonSpud1234 just to give you heads up before you proceed with your operation buddy - I had the same issue with parts for my Ray II that I ordered from LIW (the bezel just would not move) but I used a toothpick and the tiniest drop of cooking oil you can imagine (just soak the very end of a toothpick in it literally for a fraction of a second) and put it on a gasket before you install the bezel and there you you go. My bezel have been working just fine since then and it was almost a year ago I reckon. Good luck!
Like the original bezel much better!
How does the crystal line up with the bezel insert?
The insert sits higher than the crystal unfortunately. I've tried a lumed sapphire insert and a lumed ceramic insert and both inserts sit higher than the crystal. The ledge the insert adheres to needs to be machined deeper and there is room to do this but for some reason they did not.
Black dial with a blue bezel insert will be smoking hot ! Oof
For sure.
Are you going to restock the strapcode jubilee bracelet? so that i can buy the full mod set :3
Yup
Do you still carry the same for the Ray2?
Yes.
Kamasu the Barracuda !!!
Will these bezels fit the Orient USA Mako II ?
Not these; we have bezels for those also, though.
The bezels Marc sells on LIW made for the Ray II/Mako II work on the Mako USA II as well. I know because I’ve bought 2 from Marc that I use on my Mako USA II.
@@dustinr16 How difficult is removing the bezel on the USA Mako 2?
@@billbarhorst8369 It wasn’t too bad. I taped up the lugs and taped up a case back opener knife and it snapped off easily prying between the bezel and the lug at about the 5 o’clock position. There was no obvious damage to the case but the stock bezel got a few scratches. If you want to save the stock bezel take it to a watch repair place that probably has actual tools to safely remove the bezel.
@@dustinr16 thank you
All those Orient's I bought from LIW are begging for some love. And man, that coin edge bezel is tempting.
NO Makos! NO Rey! NO!
Finally!!!
Woohoo
How does your green insert look on the green faced kamasu?
I'm getting one and will let you know.
I want to see a pepsi bezel on a red dial kamasu too
I think it would look good, but didn't match them up yet.
Like before watching crew checking in 😎
Thank you!
The bezel is probably my least favorite part of the Kamasu so these are great.
