Thanks for the tips. I did use the less civilized help of the wood chisel on a Victorinox Swisschamp, but i eventually won over it. My problem wasn't replacement, but actually a super stiff action on the original bezel. I lubed the inwards and underside with a little pure silicon oil and it quickly did the trick and the bezel is smoother now. I'll see how it'll be in a few days.
I'm not of the idea that it makes it more premium, just that the change gives it a more "sporty" look similar to other divers. I think it's a great way to give a regenerating touch to the watch if the insert gets scratched after years of use though. Thanks for the demonstration on how to change the bezel
Hi , Thanks for the video helped me improvise using the plumbing Teflon tape which easily sweeps inside the gaps of the bezel and wrapping is trough right around to protect the surface and forming layers and then using a flat screw driver just pops out with ease on my Kamasu.
I saw this video and then made the purchase. I've been trying for 4 straight hours to remove this bezel from hell. There isn't even a tiny gap anywhere.
@@seanboogie10 I recently changed the bezel again and was able to get it off by nudging the knife between the gap of the bezel and the case near the 11 of clock with tape protecting the case so it doesn't get scratched, hope this helps
I love the lume. My only real gripe with the Kamasu is the bezel grip, so I'd have chosen the coin edge. My Kamasi (3) are all on Strapcode bracelets. Good video.
@@NorthernWatchClub I have the teal green, cherry red, and black. Bracelets are a MiLTAT Jubilee style, a MiLTAT Retro Razor, and an Oyster style 3 link. They fit well, and become a point of difference to others I see. Bonus is having nicer clasps.
When looking for a replacement insert, many websites note that a specific SKX007 crystal is needed otherwise there will be a gap between the crystal and insert. Has this replacement bezel already accounted for that? Will it take any flat or sloped bezel, or would one fit better than the other? Thanks!
Do you know when I can’t get a Bazel like the ones orient makes for its watches idk if it’s exclusive for them with the indents they have on the bezel. I have a Kano but I want to mod it so it looks exactly like the kamasu.
I agree, the sapphire bezel gives a premium aesthetic. How much was this mod job? What's the difference between using glue to using double sided tape on the insert?
Total came down to 100 USD, I decided to use the double sided tape because with glue if I accidently apply too much it'll come out of the bezel and be messy.
Naturally it nipped you putting a dink on it, but it's a story, a memory and a reminder for future mods....that a side it does look much better with the new bezel and insert....🏴⌚🏴⌚

Yep the new bezel is less stiff, I'd recommend you go with the coin edge bezel because the sub bezel doesnt have as much grip
That makes the world of difference. You should do it in different places to ease it off. This helps not to scratch the watch.
Good idea, I'll do that next time :)
Looks sweet! Tempted now to do this for mine! Only think I would kinda miss is the lume pip..
I think they have options with lume pips too

Nice! I'm glad the video helped!
There is no way you removed the bezel that easily!
Have that same insert for my seiko srpd, looks so nice!
Niiice I love the lume on this one
I like it, never knew there were bezel options for the kamasu. One thing I never cared for was the scalloped bezel.
Yeah once you get an aftermarket bracelet and change the bezel it's a whole different watch!
Hi, I see the replacement bezel on their website, but I cannot find the insert. Do you have the link?
I love the look of this and I want to do this, but you made it look so difficult to do lol.
😆 I'll get a new bezel removal tool and report back lol
Hi! Love the mod video. Lookin at a Kamasu myself. Do you know anything about an aftermarket clear caseback for it?
No unfortunately there's not a lot of am parts for this watch unlike with Seikos :/
Tgree different shades of red makes it look cool.
I saw this video and then made the purchase. I've been trying for 4 straight hours to remove this bezel from hell. There isn't even a tiny gap anywhere.
Did you end up removing it?
What I'd recommend, push it halfway over through one click, it'll raise the bezel ever so slightly enough to put something under to remove it
I basically just threw $100 away because I still can't get it off. I even to it to a jewelry store and the watch repairman couldn't get it off either.

Wow 3 Kamasu? Did you get their Goma bor bracelets ? I always wanted to check them out

@@blacktoothstavros2606 yeah true I might pick up one of their bracelets too the clasp looks better than the LIW ones, thanks for the suggestion!
@blacktoothstavros2606 how was the fit on all of your straps? I recently sent a MILTAT back because of the huge gap between the case and endlink.
@@CCR1062 each of the bracelets I have fit nicely. The retro razor is my fave 'cause it's very different.

Inflation, pay much, get little.

My kamasu bezel is so stiff. Warm water and soap loosened it bit, but still extremely stiff.

Yeah true it hurt at the moment but when I saw all the other dinks and scratches on the watch I'm like what's one more haha 😆
Needs a lume pip.
How much did the bezel, bezel insert costs?
Around 80 USD if I remember correctly, check out Long Island Watch's website!
Lumed insert and fact that its sapphire are improvements, mismatched red and case damage are not.
Ya eh I think I should have gone for the black 12 hr bezel instead as I don't have a watch for travelling :/
Bezel Komasu = orient ray ii ?
@@peacock883 no ray ii is a different watch, sometimes they call the kamasu the ray 3
There is absolutely no gap in the bezel any where around my Kamasu for me to pry in the case back opener.
Try where the lugs are that's what I did
It's that slope insert or flat sir?
Flat
How do I know the bezel it s in zero position?
you have to turn it right and make sure the arrow aligns with the 12 o clock marker
Didn't know you drive a gto.
I wish lol
I like the 'before" bezel
The red on red is a big no. Different shades.
Yea should've went with black :/
Downgraded his watch. IMO. However, I did learn about the possibility of doing some mods of my watches. I do appreciate that.
:( thanks for watching though
Downgrade? I hate the stock orient bezels they are so hard to turn. Did this to mine and made me actually like the watch and wear it.
I agree. Looks worse. But to each their own! If he fucks wittit I fuck with that
It's a $300 watch. It's already downgrade.
what bracelet s that?
I made another video here : ruclips.net/video/OyTWBXIFCWI/видео.html it's also from LIW :)
That dosent look good at all. The face is the star why put that bezel collor. Thats just ugly!
😆
