So pleased Akala recommended this book! My favourite book and i have immense respect for akala! Not an easy read but very rewarding as you can see from vid
Borges is amazing. I encountered him when I finished my 2nd year in Comparative Literature. Can't remember what the story is but he wrote a story playing with the idea of 1001 nights and he also wrote a story about a book with infinite pages but they must be in either Labyrinth or Fictions. For anyone who is interested please read Julio Cortazar, in particular his short story 'Letter to a young lady in Paris' Won't spoil it for you but he uses magical realism in a similar vein to Borges. And if you're feeling up to it read Cervantes, not just his story Don Quiote who Borges plays with in Fictions but Cervantes short story 'The Conversation of the Dogs'
