Mark, I’ve been watching your videos for years. This is the best one yet. Or at least my favorite. The technical part of the hobby is my favorite part.
For anyone wondering the importance of droop, it not only affects how your car lands, but it plays a huge role in weight transfer on and off power, which can dramatically affect grip and rotation. It can also play a big role in the bumps. Droop and ride height are two of the most overlooked settings by outdoor offroad racers, considering how drastically they affect the car.
The easiest way to get tow is to have 2 flat hard metal plates and bolt onto the tires and measure the back and the front. It doesn't get any more accurate than that. But that system you have is Awesome to.
Sick paint job! I raced my ET48 2.0 for the first time this weekend, and man is it good! First time ever driving a truggy and beat my personal fastest lap by almost a second. Its so smooth and turns so well! Now to make my EB48 2.0 even better...
Just built my first kit! I've been racing for 3 years but always 2nd hand cars. Building a new kit I have learned so much about setup, and having my old car, I was able to compare how everything was setup, and I will definitely have a better car now, when I throw it down on the track! Great vid!👍
Truck looks great. I prefer the dark blue. Thanks for going over your setup procedure. I’ve always adjusted toe by eye. The Hudy setup station looks much more precise.
Up front, the dark blue gives it a contrasting deep 3D look. You need to keep it just the way it is. He did an awesome job on it. It will grow on you as people tell you just how awesome it looks. The more I'm looking at this, the more it pops with that deeper blue color,
It’s watching vids like this that reminds me that even after six months of obsessing over RCs, I’m still a total noob. Didn’t know front suspension should be “flat” and slightly lower than the rear. And didn’t actually appreciate that winding the shocks tighter increases ground clearance. Totally obvious really. Big Rock now set up so much better on Typhon 6S shocks…..assuming everything you’ve shown applies to an MT.
Excellent video! Should get you in the ballpark but with a race vehicle people really need to understand how changing those settings will affect performance! Also, think it would be great if you did a video with more basic setup tools for beginners 👍
Great video....I like the new blue. I always start with the box setup....everyone's driving style is different....even if I get a used car....go to box stock setup...and go from there....have fun and be safe😎👍
Can you do a video what you do to prepare for a race? Also a video what settings you use on your ESCs and controller that helps you go faster around the track. Ty
Hi Mark. Mine name is Tony, i'm from Belgium. I have also the Hudy setup station but for offroad 1/10. I noticed when i set mine camber -2° on the setup station and afterward i measure it again with a camber tool than i have -0°. It means that i need to go to - 4° on the setup station to have a - 2° with tires and measure it with a camber tool (gauge) to be correct.
Small update... when I was picking up my rc kit today and was walking around in one of the biggest rc shops we have here in our country I got this feeling... all fuzzy and tingly (lol) and I thought "hey this is something Mark gets to experience on the regular" I would not be mad haha. I heard this today: it's not what you got, but what you do with what you have. Please say hello to the Family and please enjoy life.
Great video so much good information. Still waiting on mine to come in to the LHS. The body is awesome pops because of the light grey. The baby blue pops because of the dark grey/black patterns. If you don’t want it I will gladly show it off here on the east coast. Besides your fault I am getting the Truggy in the first place. 😂
Mark im a drone pilot lol have a bunch but I want to get my first Traxxas what do u think of a slash it’s just to play around then get my son one how is the mike Jenkins ?? Can u help me out ?
Iv tried that for about an hour or more it doesint work I ended up buying a setup station out of frustration and everything was way off when I put it on the station.
How do you make the shocks stiffer ? I personally don't want the car to slam hard. So how can I fix that to my liking ? Love your videos Brother !! I'm in NC. Not much RC around here like it was back in the 90's when RC was booming everywhere.
Really awesome video man, loved it! Side note, it would help me a lot if you did this same thing for 1/10 on road, I have a nitro HPI that I'm struggling to set up nicely the way you just set this Tekno up, I feel your tips would be very helpful in that department! Anyways great job as always, take care man!
Awesome video Mark keep up the good work!, After I get my e Revo completely dialed in I want to get into racing I am thinking TLR 8 or tekno, both look legit.
I've put on new arms that didn't fit and put the originals back on. Then immediately switch them back out with the new arms and everything fit and work right. Because I'm a willful little RC Veteran.
Are you running equal shock shaft tension on o ring stack tension on all 4 shocks? Your shock shafts should slide with under 15grams of force to be pro built based on logics , physics, and accuracy.
Turning the callors on the shocks to lowering the vehicle like this increases spring rate. With those rates changed you may need to change the shock oil weight.
I have found a lot of these set up instruction videos who explain how to change your set up but never why you change it. How droop, ride height, camber, toe, shock positioning and so forth will change the way your car handles on the track. If someone has a recomendation for a video to watch i would appreciate it. Thanx.
The tekno manuals do a great job of explaining what each thing will do in the back of the book. You can find a pdf of a manual and read through it and see what you think.
That blue isn't super dark. But definitely not baby blue. Minor. If it bugs you though definitely fix it. Cause even though you pack it away in your mind your not fully in the moment. Thing is if you don't fix it immediately your just wasting time brother. Something my wife told me about successful people, wondering now if I gotta get stuff done lol. Giter' done. And done!!!

learned more from this comment that the 17 min of useless info in this video.
Did you use the droop blocks when you set toe & camber, like the manual instructs?
I know you can do this without a setup station, but man having one makes your life soooo much easier. Never giving up mine.
Man I know this is an old video. But watching these really make me want to get into buggy racing.
The easiest way to get tow is to have 2 flat hard metal plates and bolt onto the tires and measure the back and the front. It doesn't get any more accurate than that.
But that system you have is Awesome to.
The darker blue looks great.
I love my Hudy set up station. I have had it for around 10 years now.
Looks sick the darker blue makes it pop more

I'm saving this video to refer to in the future. Thanks Mark.
I like the darker blue also.
Both are sweet but that darker blue looks awesome

That was helpful. I like the colour but the baby blue is awesome 😎
The darker blue makes the other colors pop more I think!
Truck looks great. I prefer the dark blue. Thanks for going over your setup procedure. I’ve always adjusted toe by eye. The Hudy setup station looks much more precise.
Baby blue looks better, but the darker blue still looks nice. Race the darker body and get a fresh body painted for display/back up.
That looks nice .....the blue is awesome I would keep it looking like that ....
Great video! These how to videos are great for someone like my son and me who are just getting into this. Thanks for all your content!

Great vlog mark.
That is a cool kit! Its from Hudy..so I'm sure it's pricey.
They both look awesome I think
Looks awesome Mark

Great vid Mark. I personally like the darker blue looks 🔥on the new ET 👏👍
Hi mark that looks great. I will follow this vid to set up my et48. 🤘🇬🇧
Sweet! Nice job MSM I enjoy watching your channel just got back into the hobby at Christmas and there’s a lot to learn.
Thanks for the video Mark! Very informative video!
Great vid mark man a lot go’s in to racing but dang had no clue the extent of it this might even help bashers right
Would look cool with a gravedigger esque paint scheme.
Excellent video! Should get you in the ballpark but with a race vehicle people really need to understand how changing those settings will affect performance! Also, think it would be great if you did a video with more basic setup tools for beginners 👍
I like a combo of both. The new would look best with the dark blue and the black checker flag
love the paint job, looks good from my house... Keep the videos coming.
I like the darker blue better myself.
Mark! This car looks awesome bro!!
I love you MSM, but I gotta say, I hate to know bodies.
That being said, great video man!
Keep em coming!
i like the dark blue and the black checkers but this is your vehicle and it should be the way you want it.
Wish you would have did a demonstration without the Hudy set up rig
You get what you get and you don't through a fit is how I was raised haha that's still a bad ass paint Job.
I love the dark blue
Personally I like the darker blue. But you paid for, get it the way you want it
Great video....I like the new blue. I always start with the box setup....everyone's driving style is different....even if I get a used car....go to box stock setup...and go from there....have fun and be safe😎👍
Great video bud , very educational and informative
Like the new body looks like an old truck and I like the darker blue on new body
Both these rc s are stunning. Cool video
Cool video! Do more videos with the new Vorteks!
Looks awesome!!!
Mark what Hudy to plate do you use for the Tekno buggies? Since the tower hits it.
Can you do a video what you do to prepare for a race? Also a video what settings you use on your ESCs and controller that helps you go faster around the track. Ty
Will this work for the tekno sct 410.3 and eb410.2?
Run it!!! It looks good !
Yessss mine arrived today :)) building it
Very good rc 😏💯
Thanks man, awesome tips. Body is sick
Any word if they’re going to bring out an ET48 2.1 this year to coincide with the EB48 2.1
Why the toe out in the front? I thought it was generally good to have slight toe in front and back?
Hi Mark. Mine name is Tony, i'm from Belgium. I have also the Hudy setup station but for offroad 1/10. Getting my e-buggy kit next week so this is a good one to get into it. Love the vlogs and the variety of the content keep it up!!
Small update... when I was picking up my rc kit today and was walking around in one of the biggest rc shops we have here in our country I got this feeling... all fuzzy and tingly (lol) and I thought "hey this is something Mark gets to experience on the regular" I would not be mad haha. You should build a backslash and race one
It'd be a good tech Tuesday... it's Monday. Hahaha
I like that gauge system
New Truggy new paint ! Looks fricken Awesome Mark !! Personally I like better than your old paint! ;)
What’s the part number for the Truggy toe plate from Hudy. I have the old one tht doesn’t work with Tekno due to the shock towers
HUD108841
Ty
I would recommend orange or red front springs...trust me!!!
I put the orange springs right after i drove it for the first time... hahaha

Use a camber gauge to check toe, put the front tires against flat surface with the radio on.
Iv tried that for about an hour or more it doesint work I ended up buying a setup station out of frustration and everything was way off when I put it on the station.
I lie the baby blue more but also love the darker
How do you make the shocks stiffer ?

So how can I fix that to my liking ?
Love your videos Brother !!
I'm in NC. Not much RC around here like it was back in the 90's when RC was booming everywhere.
That's piston hole size numbers, and if wedge pistons changes rebound rate, How fast moves up through the shocks
Mark, you thinh exactly like me. BIG BUGGY!
to me that's exactly what's wrong!! its supposed to be a truggy ...... I thought?
Really awesome video man, loved it! Side note, it would help me a lot if you did this same thing for 1/10 on road, I have a nitro HPI that I'm struggling to set up nicely the way you just set this Tekno up, I feel your tips would be very helpful in that department! Great video and tips
I'm not hating I just want one to paint like the " pink pig " paint scheme or " bubba Gump " shrimp boat!!
On camera the darker blue looks better to me than the lighter baby blue
Are you going to be at lcrc
Awesome video Mark keep up the good work!, After I get my e Revo completely dialed in I want to get into racing I am thinking TLR 8 or tekno, both look legit.
How many hours to build one for the first time?
Also what’s is the part number for the wheel nut
TKR5116BR
so useful thanks
I've put on new arms that didn't fit and put the originals back on.

Yeah, I gotta say I do like the baby blue more
The background picture on the fridge
Turning the callors on the shocks to lowering the vehicle like this increases spring rate. With those rates changed you may need to change the shock oil weight.
Nice video!
I need this, but don`t want to spend that much money on it. Think Im going to 3D print one.
How can you set ride height without wheels on it
You can’t you have to have some sort of tires on it and some tires can change your ride height also.
I want that set up station
Who is your painter
I have found a lot of these set up instruction videos who explain how to change your set up but never why you change it. @@byzone0632 This was just the thing I was looking for. Thank you for that great tip.
As a Carolina fan, dook blue never works....Send it back!!!!
Set your car up like I set my Honda Civic EG up🤣higher in the back
Oke i'm here mark
That blue isn't super dark. But definitely not baby blue. Minor. If it bugs you though definitely fix it. Cause even though you pack it away in your mind your not fully in the moment. First love your vids
I want one et48 2.0

That body looks like something from Minecraft and you’re worried about color 😂
